Środa Śląska

Gmina Środa Śląska is an urban-rural gmina (administrative district) in Środa Śląska County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. Its seat is the town of Środa Śląska, which lies approximately 32 kilometres (20 mi) west of the regional capital Wrocław. It is part of the Wrocław metropolitan area. The gmina covers an area of 214.93 square kilometres (83.0 sq mi), and as of 2006 its total population is 19,076 (out of which the population of Środa Śląska amounts to 8,800, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 10,276).

Środa County (; Polish: powiat średzki [ˈpɔvjat ˈɕrɛt͡skʲi]) is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Lower Silesian Voivodeship, south-western Poland. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. The county covers an area of 703.7 square kilometres (271.7 sq mi). Its administrative seat and only town is Środa Śląska. As at 2019 the total population of the county is 54,646, out of which the population of Środa Śląska accounts for 9,516, while the rural population is 45,130.

Chwalimierz [xfaˈlimjɛʂ] (German: Frankenthal) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Środa Śląska, within Środa Śląska County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. It lies approximately 2 kilometres (1 mi) south-east of Środa Śląska, and 31 kilometres (19 mi) west of the regional capital Wrocław. The merchant Georg von Kramsta had a Neo-Renaissance palace built here around the year 1885, that was destroyed during World War II.
