Gebhart Tavern, also known as the Daniel Gebhart Tavern Museum, is a small museum located in Miamisburg, Ohio, United States. It is a popular attraction in Miamisburg and is currently being run by the Miamisburg Historical Society.

Baum Opera House is a historic mansard style opera house located in Miamisburg Ohio, United States. It was built in 1884 by Charles Baum who had originally named it the Star City Opera House. At the time, it was one of the finest opera houses in Ohio. Since the turn of the 20th century, Baum has had many uses, such as a bowling alley, a roller skating rink, a dinner theater, and the site of the first basketball game for Miamisburg High School. It was renamed Junior Hall in the 1940s and hosted several dances. It would later be known as Friendship Hall and served on and off as a dance hall and bar. By the mid 1990s the building sat empty and was bought at a Sheriff's sale. Today the location is very up-to-date and is used as a meeting hall, reception hall, musical event venue. It also contains a small museum for fire fighting paraphernalia and Miamisburg history.

Jacob's Church (St. Jacob's Evangelical Lutheran Church) is a historic Lutheran church at 213 E. Central Avenue in Miamisburg, Ohio. It was built in 1864 and added to the National Register in 1990. The builders were Henry & David Groby who were considered "one of the best builders in the area".

At 4:25 pm on July 8, 1986, a 44 car Baltimore and Ohio railroad freight train, traveling at 45 miles per hour, bound south to Cincinnati, derailed near Miamisburg, Ohio, a small city with an industrial history in Montgomery County, southwest of Dayton. Fifteen of the cars derailed on a bridge; these were tank cars containing yellow phosphorus, molten sulfur and tallow. Carrying a chemical used to make rat poison, fireworks and luminescent coatings, one tank car caught fire. This resulted in emission of an estimated 1,000 foot (300 m) high cloud of phosphorus. A subsequent incident caused the largest train accident-triggered evacuation at the time in the United States. The accident was the second major rail disaster in Miamisburg within an eight-year period. On September 10, 1978, 15 cars of a Conrail train derailed.

Mound Laboratory in Miamisburg, Ohio was an Atomic Energy Commission (later Department of Energy) facility for nuclear weapon research during the Cold War, named after the nearby Miamisburg Indian Mound. The laboratory grew out of the World War II era Dayton Project (a site within the Manhattan Project) where the neutron generating triggers for the first plutonium bombs were developed. Post-war construction of a permanent site for Dayton Project activities began in 1947. The lab was originally known as the Dayton Engineer Works. The lab began operations in 1948 and was managed by Monsanto. Mound produced detonators, cable assemblies, timers, firing sets, and other equipment. In 1954, Mound began working with tritium. The lab disassembled bomb components, recovering the tritium within and sending it for repurification at Savannah River Site. Mound supplied enriched non-radioactive isotopes. The lab also produced plutonium-238-powered thermoelectric heat sources called SNAP or Systems for Nuclear Auxiliary Power for the U.S. space program. Workers at the site were represented by the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers International Union (OCAW).Mound was declared a Superfund site and was put on the National Priorities list in 1989. In a decision was made to close the plant by 2006. Cleanup of the site began in 1995. Work with tritium ended in 1997. Cleanup of the site finished in 2010.

Miamisburg Mound is a conical Native American Mound in Miamisburg, Ohio. At 65 feet (20 m) tall and 800 feet (240 m) in circumference, it is the largest burial mound in the Eastern United States. Built atop a hill overlooking the Miami River, it is believed to have been built by the Adena Culture between 800BC and 100AD. An excavation in 1869 unearthed several skeletons surrounded by clay and charcoal and a collection of ceremonial goods, including pipes and animal effigies. Charles F. Kettering bought the mound and turned it into a park in 1920. It was turned over to the Ohio Historical Society for preservation in 1929. The site is managed locally by the city of Miamisburg. Stairs have been built allowing access to the top of the mound and providing impressive views of the Dayton area. Mound Laboratories, originally part of the Manhattan Project, is located across the street and was named for the Miamisburg Mound.

Miamisburg ( my-AM-eez-burg) is a city in southern Montgomery County, Ohio, United States. The population was 19,923 at the 2020 census. A suburb of Dayton, it is part of the Dayton metropolitan area. Named after the Miami people, Miamisburg is known for its industrial history, particularly its nuclear operations during World War II, and retail factors such as the Dayton Mall and surrounding commercial business area.

Salem Bear Creek Church, Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church (Ellerton Lutheran and German Reformed Church District) is a historic district roughly bounded by Union Road, Dayton Germantown Pike, and Bear Creek in Moraine, Ohio. The area was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Miamisburg High School is a public high school located in Miamisburg, Ohio, United States, serving grades 9-12. The current principal is Michael Black. It is part of the Miamisburg City School District and is the only high school in Miamisburg. The school athletic teams are known as the Vikings and the school colors are royal blue and white.

Miami Township is one of the nine townships of Montgomery County, Ohio, United States. The population was 52,156 at the 2020 census.

Chautauqua , also Chautaugua or Chatauqua, is an unincorporated community in Montgomery and Warren counties in the U.S. state of Ohio. Chautauqua is located at 39°35′28″N 84°17′47″W (39.591072, -84.296293). It lies on the west bank of the Great Miami River at the county boundary. It was established in 1901 with 310 acres (1.3 km2). The members of the Miami Valley Chautauqua Association lived in common in the town, occupying about two hundred homes. The Montgomery County portion of Chautauqua is part of the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area, while the Warren County portion is part of the Cincinnati–Middletown, OH-KY-IN Metropolitan Statistical Area.
