Lake Nixon is a private recreation area on Cooper Orbit Road on the southwestern outskirts of Little Rock, Arkansas. The lake is 34 acres (14 ha) in size, with a narrow shape oriented roughly northwest to southeast. The south side of the lake is in a natural state, while the central portion of the north shore has been developed as a summer day camp. The site of the camp was the subject of a ground-breaking civil rights case, Daniel v. Paul, decided by the United States Supreme Court in 1969. The camp was in 1966 a private enterprise offering membership for a low fee ($.25) to whites, but refused to grant memberships to African-Americans. Two African American girls sought admission to the grounds during a heat wave in 1966, and filed suit after they were refused. The Supreme Court ruled that the club constituted a public accommodation under civil rights legislation. This case was key in combatting the use of private clubs as a means for racial discrimination.The lake and surrounding amenities were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2017.

Brodie Creek is a traditional residential neighborhood in west Little Rock, Arkansas with close proximity to Interstate 430, Bowman Rd, Kanis Rd, Chenal Pkwy, and Col Glenn Rd. Brodie Creek has about 80 uniquely-designed homes along tree-lined streets, all radiating from a central, open green space and pavilion. Houses range from 1,800 to 4,000 square feet, all meeting strict architectural standards set by the original town architect, John Allison. The majority of homes feature large front porches and rear-facing garages, accessed via private alleyways. Brodie Creek adjoins Woodlands Edge on its west side, Sandpiper Creek to the east, Cherry Creek to the north, and Colonel Glenn to the south. Portions of the Financial Centre business district, Baptist/Kanis Road medical district, and Chenal Valley lie to the north. The neighborhood lies within the zoning area for Baker Elementary, and Joe T. Robinson Middle School and High School.

Little Rock Southwest High School, also known as Little Rock Southwest Magnet High School, is a public high school in southwest Little Rock, Arkansas. Groundbreaking occurred in 2017. It replaced J. A. Fair Systems Magnet High School and McClellan Magnet High School. Additionally it took over the attendance area for Hall High School, which was converted into Hall STEAM Magnet High School, a magnet only school.It has 400,000 square feet (37,000 m2) of space. There are 65 classrooms, with each having 900 square feet (84 m2) of space. It opened as scheduled in 2020. It had 1,930 students in September 2020.

J. A. Fair High School (FHS) was a four-year public high school located in Little Rock, Arkansas, United States. J. A. Fair was one of four comprehensive high schools of the Little Rock School District. Beginning the 2014 school year, J. A. Fair was placed under academic distress, changing its name from J. A. Fair Systems Magnet High School to J. A. Fair High School of College and Career Academies. Fair was originally a part of the Pulaski County Special School District. It opened in August 1982 (with additions in 1983, 1984 and a classroom and cafeteria addition in 2004) and is named for James Augustus "Gus" Fair. The school operated as a junior/senior high school (grades 7-12) from 1982 to 1987. It was annexed by the Little Rock School District and converted to a senior high school in 1987. In 2000, J. A. Fair became a magnet school and offers magnet programs in environmental science, systems engineering/information sciences and medical studies. The school was divided into academies: The Academy of Environmental Science, Enterprise Mobile Network Management Academy, and The Academy of Sports Medicine, along with a Freshman Academy. It closed in 2020 with the opening of Little Rock Southwest High School.

Big Rock Interchange is the I-430/I-630/Financial Parkway interchange in west Little Rock, Arkansas. The name is derived from a large rock formation discovered during expansion. The interchange was originally constructed in 1977, then in the mid-2000s it was decided to expand the interchange in an attempt to alleviate congestion. In 2011 an outcropping of Pennsylvanian Jackfork Formation sandstone and surrounding shale was discovered in the southeast quadrant of the project. The formation was estimated to weigh about 5 million pounds. Due to the size and hardness of the sandstone it was decided to leave the unique and distinctive formation in place as a landmark, rather than use explosives or some other method to try to remove it, and it was dubbed "The Big Rock". When the original I-430 and I-630 interchange was constructed, about 14,000 vehicles a day traveled down each Interstate, and I-630 ended at Shackleford Road with a traffic signal. With expansion and growth in west Little Rock, and particularly in the Chenal Valley neighborhood, the interchange had become progressively more congested by the early 2000s. In 2004 the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department began a study to expand the interchange. The first of three phases began January 2009. First phase was construction of an additional I-630 west to I-430 north lane, modification to Financial Centre Parkway just west of Shackleford Road, and an additional traffic signal added to Hermitage Drive. Phase two involved preparing the interchange for future work and mainly involved the I-430 bridge over I-630 which was lengthened. Phase three completed the flyover lanes. The $150 million makeover took over six years to complete. Since construction ended, over 200,000 vehicles use the interchange daily.

Pulaski Academy (PA) is a private, independent college preparatory preschool, elementary, and junior/senior high school headed by Brock Dunn in the Pleasant Valley neighborhood of Little Rock, Arkansas, United States. PA was established in 1971 as a segregation academy and remains as the only independent, non-sectarian, college preparatory school in Arkansas.

The John Barrow Addition of Little Rock, Arkansas (often simply referred to as John Barrow) is a neighborhood in the western portion of the city. It is bordered on the north by Kanis Road, on the west by I-430, on the east by Boyle Park, and on the south by Asher Avenue. The area is named for its main thoroughfare, John Barrow Road. Nearby neighborhoods include Briarwood on the north, and Rosedale on the south. To the north lies Baptist Health Medical Center and its environs, as well as small residential areas including Twin Lakes. To the east lie Broadmoor and the vicinity surrounding the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. John Barrow is a transition neighborhood, progressing from state-of-the-art medical facilities and office complexes to lower-income single-family housing. Dotted throughout the area are businesses that are evidence of an increasing Hispanic population in Little Rock (also noticeable in Rosedale and Southwest Little Rock), specializing in authentic Mexican foods and crafts. The Promenade at Chenal ( shin-AWL) is an upscale, open-air lifestyle center located in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the corner of Chenal Parkway and Rahling Road in Chenal Valley. The Promenade displays French Gothic architecture and was designed to replicate a nostalgic Main Street shopping district. Pleasant Valley is a neighborhood that is among the older western neighborhoods of the city of Little Rock, Arkansas. The area is to the northwest of Breckenridge and west of Colony West. Pleasant Valley lies to the south of the hillier Pleasant Ridge and Walton Heights areas, and mostly to the east of St. Charles.

The Baptist Preparatory School (or Baptist Prep) is a private, independent college preparatory, preschool, elementary, and junior/senior high school Christian school in Little Rock, Arkansas, United States. Founded in 1981, The Baptist Preparatory School via its Lower School and Upper School provide Christian-based education to more than 720 students annually in kindergarten through grade 12.

The Dr. Morgan Smith House is a historic house at 5110 Stagecoach Road in Little Rock, Arkansas. It is a two-story wood-frame structure, with a complex roof line and weatherboard siding. It is a sophisticated example of Craftsman styling, with a porch and porte-cochere supported by stone columns (supposedly built using cobblestones from central Little Rock), and extended eaves with exposed rafter tails. The house was built in 1918 for a prominent local doctor, housing both his home and office.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
