Union Presbyterian Seminary is a Presbyterian seminary in Richmond, Virginia, and Charlotte, North Carolina, offering graduate theological education in multiple modalities: in-person, hybrid, and online.

Ginter Park is a suburban neighborhood of Richmond, Virginia built on land owned and developed by Lewis Ginter. The neighborhood's first well known resident was newspaperman Joseph Bryan, who lived in Laburnum, first built in 1883 and later rebuilt. In 1895, many acres of land north of Richmond were purchased by Ginter in order to develop into neighborhoods. Ginter Park and other neighborhoods were developed from this initial land purchase. In Ginter Park are Union Presbyterian Seminary and as well as Pollard Park. Nearby are the Children's Hospital of Richmond and John Marshall High School. While the borders of North Side are not exact, nearby North Side neighborhoods include Barton Heights, Highland Park, Laburnum Park, Sherwood Park and Bellevue. The Ginter Park Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It encompasses 291 contributing buildings and 179 contributing structures.

Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond (BTSR) was a free-standing seminary in Richmond, Virginia. It was founded in March 1989 by Virginia Baptists related to the Southern Baptist Alliance (now the Alliance of Baptists) and Baptist General Association of Virginia. In the late 1980s, as the situation began to change in Southern Baptist Convention during the conservative resurgence/fundamentalist takeover, others in the region joined them in seeing the need for alternative options for theological education among Baptists. BTSR was also affiliated with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. Accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada, BTSR offered degrees including the Master of Divinity (M.Div.), Master of Theological Studies (MTS), and Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.).On November 13, 2018, the BTSR Trustees announced that the school would close, effective June 30, 2019. The trustees cited financial pressure as the reason for the closure, and said that the school would work with students to transfer their credits to other seminaries.

The Battery Court Historic District is a national historic district located at Richmond, Virginia. The district encompasses 549 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site (Battery Park) located north of downtown Richmond and west of Barton Heights and Brookland Park. The primarily residential area developed starting in the early-20th century as one of the city's early “streetcar suburbs.” The buildings are in a variety of popular late-19th and early-20th century architectural styles including frame bungalows, American Foursquare, Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, and Mission Revival. Notable non-residential buildings include the Overbrook Presbyterian Church (now All Souls Presbyterian) and Battery Park Christian Church (now Mount Hermon Baptist).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

The Brookland Park Historic District is a national historic district located at Richmond, Virginia. The district encompasses 1,157 contributing buildings located north of downtown Richmond and Barton Heights.

Sherwood Park is one of several historical neighborhoods that comprise the area known as Northside in the city of Richmond, Virginia. Among the streetcar suburbs commissioned in 1891 by local businessman Lewis Ginter, Sherwood Park's original design was laid out in 1892 by the firm of acclaimed landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted. Due to economic, social, and political factors during Ginter's lifetime, Olmsted's elegant design of gently curved streets was never realized. Development of modern Sherwood Park accelerated during the late 1920s and continued through 1940–1950. Today the community has evolved into a diverse neighborhood of tree lined streets, bike lanes, a variety of architectural styles and sidewalks throughout.

Department of Public Utilities Howard (Overbrook) Road Facility is a historic material storage, repair facility and office complex located in Richmond, Virginia. The complex was begun in 1925, and consists of consists of three brick and concrete buildings, a two-story stucco building and a row of metal and brick storage sheds.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

The Laburnum Park Historic District is a national historic district located at Richmond, Virginia. The district encompasses 226 contributing buildings and 2 contributing structures located north of downtown Richmond. The primarily residential area developed starting in the early-20th century as one of the city's early "streetcar suburbs" and as home to several important local institutions. The buildings are in a variety of popular early-20th century architectural styles including Queen Anne and Colonial Revival. It was developed as neighborhood of middle-to-upper-class, single-family dwellings. Notable buildings include the Laburnum House (1908), Richmond Memorial Hospital (1954-1957), Richmond Memorial Hospital Nursing School (1960-1961), "The Hermitage" (1911), Laburnum Court (1919), Veritas School.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Hovey Field is a stadium in Richmond, Virginia. It is primarily used for American football, and is the home field of the Virginia Union Panthers. Historic Hovey Field has been the home to Virginia Union University football since 1907. On land originally purchased for just over $8,000, Hovey Field has become a VUU landmark. Hovey Field seats over 10,000 people and was the home to the 1923 VUU National Championship football team. Hovey Field, used by Virginia Union University since 1907, is the second-oldest college football stadium still in use in the United States, Hovey Field was the oldest natural grass football stadium in the country until the natural grass had been replaced with turf in 2020. Harvard Stadium, built in 1903, is the only older college football stadium still in use. Virginia Union also shut out Lincoln University's football team 90–0 in October 2018.
