The Flatiron Building was an historic building in Grand Forks, North Dakota, that was built in 1906 and was destroyed by the 1997 Red River flood. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, but was removed from the Register in 2004 because it had been destroyed.Built adjacent to the Great Northern railroad, the building was first used as office space for the Grand Forks Ice Company. The company had been established in 1877 by John Lynch to supply ice to local customers, but by the turn of the 20th century it had grown to become a supplier of ice and coal for a larger region. As such, it was dependent on access to rail transport.: 12 By 1981, the Flatiron Building was still owned by the Lynch family. Its architecture is characterized as Early Commercial and "Vernacular-Gothic Details."Two other wholesale buildings in Grand Forks that were listed on the National Register, within the N. Third Street wholesale district, are the Grand Forks Mercantile Co. building, built in 1893, and the Iddings Block, built in 1892.: 12 

The Odd Fellows Block, located at 23-25 S 4th st and 324 Kittson Ave in the Downtown Grand Forks Historic District of Grand Forks, North Dakota is a historic building built in 1888 as a home for the Odd Fellows meeting hall, which was situated on the third floor. The hall was fitted with a large and well-appointed lodge room, a banquet hall, and numerous smaller rooms.

The Dakota Block is a three-story commercial vernacular style building built in 1916. It is within the Downtown Historic District in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The principal facade of the Dakota Block consists of Hebron brick laid in a running bond. It features a single recessed bay delineated by corbelled brick and a stone cornice. The first floor has rusticated corner piers supporting pilaster strips which extend to the top of the building. Topping the front is a stone coping with a raised central parapet holding a name block inscribed "Dakota Block". The rear and sides of the building are constructed of common brick and are devoid of embellishment, save for a cast iron fire escape.

The Metropolitan Opera House (or The Met) is located at 116 South Third Street in the downtown area of Grand Forks, North Dakota, USA. The building, constructed in 1890, faces the Red River of the North and sits between the BNSF Railway tracks and a parking structure. At one time, the Opera House was considered the best opera house between Minneapolis and Seattle. Today, the building has been converted into an apartment building called the Opera House Lofts.

The Masonic Center (also known as the Masonic Temple) is a Renaissance style building in Grand Forks, North Dakota. It was designed by architect Joseph Bell DeRemer and was constructed by the Dinnie Brothers in 1913. It replaced the first Masonic Temple in Grand Forks, which had burned, and which was later reconstructed as the Stratford Building. This building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The building at 312 Kittson Ave, Grand Forks, North Dakota is a two-story brick commercial vernacular style building with classical details built by Swedish-American builder Sander Johnson in 1907. It is part of the Downtown Grand Forks Historic District. The building is constructed of brick, Hebron on the front and common on the sides and back. Its quality of workmanship, brickwork, and carpentry are notable. The first floor consists of a common wood store front with a limestone molding. The second floor features a bay window flanked by recessed brick work with a stone sill and a limestone keystone arch. The roof line is decorated with an egg-and-dart limestone cap decorated with a wrought-iron crest incorporating the building date. This cresting is flanked by two corner merlons which are capped by limestone moldings and antefixes. The second floor originally held an apartment. The builder, Sander Johnson, moved to North Dakota from Sweden in 1902, building 312 Kittson Ave just five years later. The building has a European ambiance. This building was the first built by Johnson in his 60-year career as a builder and contractor in North Dakota and the Red River Valley. Johnson and his building companies also built the Grand Forks Masonic Temple and the Chester Fritz Library.

The Hook and Ladder No. 1 and Hose Co. No. 2 is a property in Grand Forks, North Dakota that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It is locally significant as one of two fire stations built by the city in 1907. The other, at time of NRHP nomination, was condemned.It is no longer used as a fire station.The property was covered in a 1981 study of Downtown Grand Forks historical resources.

City Center Mall was a shopping mall located in downtown Grand Forks, North Dakota that was constructed by closing off a block of Third Street. Construction was done in 1978 by building a roof over the former street and walls, closing off the block. Fountains were built where the street was located.Despite the mall's attempt to attract shoppers to the downtown area, it did not improve business. This trend continued until the mall was destroyed in the flood of 1997. The mall was not rebuilt and Third Street was reopened to traffic.

The Stratford Building is a property in Grand Forks, North Dakota that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It was built in 1913 as a reconstruction of the first, 1902-built Masonic Temple building in Grand Forks, which had burned partially on January 18, 1912. The First National Bank is a five-story building in Grand Forks, North Dakota, that was built in 1914–15 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It was built for the Scandinavian-American Bank, but has been identified as the First National Bank building since 1929.
