Tune is a former municipality in Østfold county, Norway. The former municipality originally covered the current Sarpsborg municipality with the exception of Skjeberg and with the addition of Rolvsøy.

The Tune stone is an important runestone from about 200–450 AD. It bears runes of the Elder Futhark, and the language is Proto-Norse. It was discovered in 1627 in the church yard wall of the church in Tune, Østfold, Norway. Today it is housed in the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History in Oslo. The Tune stone is possibly the oldest Norwegian attestation of burial rites, inheritance, and beer.

Yven is a borough in the city of Sarpsborg in Østfold, Norway. It is located east of the city centre on the west side of the Glomma river between Sarpsborg and Fredrikstad. Yven was previously assigned to the former municipality of Tune. As of 1885, the village was estimated to have had 297 inhabitants.

Sparta Amfi is an indoor ice hockey rink located in Sarpsborg, Norway. The 3,900-spectator venue is the home of Sparta Sarpsborg and Sarpsborg Skøyteklubb. The arena opened in 1963 as the first indoor ice rink in Norway. Major upgrades were carried out in 2006 and 2012, and a second rink opened in 2007.

The Sarpsborg Stadion is a football stadium in Sarpsborg, Norway. It is the home ground of Eliteserien club Sarpsborg 08. The former multi-use venue hosted the Norwegian Athletics Championships in 1954 and 1960. The venue hosted one Norway national under-21 football team match, where Norway lost 1–3 against Sweden on 3 October 1972. The stadium has been repeatedly modernised in recent years; a modernisation which began in 2000, when a new main stand were built. In 2009, new floodlights were installed and the grass pitch was replaced with an artificial turf. New stands were built in both the south and north end of the pitch between 2010 and 2016. Sarpsborg 08's success in the 2018–19 UEFA Europa League led to further upgrades and improvements. The stadium's attendance record dates from 14 October 1945, when Fredrikstad and Lyn met in the first of two replays of the final of the 1945 Norwegian Cup. 18,000 spectators visited the match that ended with a 1–1 draw. This was the penultimate Norwegian Cup final to be played outside Oslo.

Lande is a borough in Østfold county, Norway, located close to the lake Tunevannet and east of E6, which is the national highway going through Sarpsborg.

Sarpsborg (pronounced [ˈsɑ̀ʂbɔr] or [ˈsɑ̀rpsbɔrɡ]), historically Borg, is a city and municipality in Østfold county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Sarpsborg. Sarpsborg is part of the fifth largest urban area in Norway when paired with neighbouring Fredrikstad. As of 1 January 2018, according to Statistics Norway these two municipalities have a total population of 136,127 with 55,840 in Sarpsborg and 81,278 in Fredrikstad.Statistics for 2021, say that the city has a population where 19% of the children belong to families that have "low-income in the long-term"; that is the highest level for a city (in Norway); the national level is 11.3%.

Greåker is a borough in the city of Sarpsborg, Norway, located 7 km west of the city centre. Before 1992 Greåker was a part of Tune municipality. It is situated at the river Glomma between Sarpsborg and Fredrikstad.The borough of Greåker is the home of the Premier League Floorball team "Greåker Bulldogs". The team's home arena is the Tindlundhallen arena. Greåker has been a site for diverse industry for decades, most notably in the area of paper production. The most notable remaining industry today is Nordic Paper's kraft paper mill by the Glomma river, which is the continuation of over a hundred years of various wood processing works (e.g. Greaker Cellulose, Greaker Industrier).There is a fortress located in Greåker, built during the first decade of the 20th century. It was one of several fortresses built along the Norwegian/Swedish border during this period, in preparation for a potential war between Norway and Sweden. Norway was struggling to leave the union with Sweden, which had lasted since 1814. This war never came to happen, and the fortress was partially disabled. During World War II, the Germans attacked the fortress, coming across the river Visterflo, which unites with its source, Glomma, again at Greåker. Today the fortress is in poor condition, and used as a look-out point over Fredrikstad and the southern parts of Sarpsborg.

Vestvannet is a lake located within the municipality of Sarpsborg in Østfold county, Norway. The lower part of the lake is a protected area included in the Vestvannet Nature Reserve (Vestvannet naturreservat).
