Little Castle

Kamnik (pronounced [ˈkaːmnik] ; German: Stein or Stein in Oberkrain) is a town in northern Slovenia. It is the central settlement of the Municipality of Kamnik. It encompasses a large part of the Kamnik Alps and the surrounding area. The town of Kamnik has three castles as well as many examples of historical architecture.

The Nevljica is a river in the Municipality of Kamnik, Slovenia. It has its source below Kozjak Hill (737 m, near Črni Vrh v Tuhinju) and flows through the Tuhinj Valley. It also flows through the settlements of Nevlje and Mekinje. It is a left tributary of the Kamnik Bistrica.

Zaprice Castle (Slovene: grad Zaprice, German: Schloss Steinbüchel) is a castle in Zaprice, now part of the town of Kamnik, Slovenia. The castle was first indirectly mentioned in 1306 and was originally built in the 14th century by the Dienger von Apecz family. It was rebuilt in the early 16th century by Jurij Lamberg, who gave it corner oriel windows and surrounded it with a wall with two towers, and gave it a German name: Steinbüchel. The castle is subsequently remembered as a meeting place for Kamnik's Lutherans. During the 17th and 18th century the castle was rebuilt in the Baroque style and enlarged into a more comfortable residential building. Today, the castle serves as a museum and a venue for cultural and educational events.

The area is part of the traditional region of Upper Carniola. The municipality is now included in the Central Slovenia Statistical Region.

The area is part of the traditional region of Upper Carniola. The municipality is now included in the Central Slovenia Statistical Region.

Nevlje (pronounced [ˈneːu̯ljɛ]; German: Neul) is a settlement on the Nevljica River in the Municipality of Kamnik in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. It is located approximately 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) from Kamnik.

Zduša (pronounced [ˈzduːʃa]; in older sources also Zduše, German: Sdusch) is a settlement on the left bank of the Kamnik Bistrica River in the Municipality of Kamnik in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. A 16th-century mansion in the settlement, known after its last owners as the Rebolj Mansion, is in a state of rapid deterioration.
