The National Museum of Catholic Art and History is a museum in Washington, D.C., focusing on Catholic art. It was formerly located in East Harlem, Manhattan, New York City. It was founded by Christina Cox in 1995.

The Charles Sumner School, established in 1872, was one of the earliest schools for African Americans in Washington, D.C. Named for the prominent abolitionist and United States Senator Charles Sumner, the school became the first teachers' college for black citizens in the city and the headquarters of its segregated school system for African American students. It currently houses a small museum, a research room, art exhibits, and the archives of the District of Columbia Public Schools.

The Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle in Washington, D.C., most commonly known as St. Matthew's Cathedral, is the seat of the Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington. As St. Matthew's Cathedral and Rectory, it has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1974.The cathedral is in downtown Washington at 1725 Rhode Island Avenue NW between Connecticut Avenue and 17th Street. The closest Metrorail station is Farragut North, on the Red Line. It is seven blocks north and two blocks west of the White House.

The Mayflower Hotel is a historic hotel in downtown Washington, D.C., located on Connecticut Avenue NW. It is two blocks north of Farragut Square (one block north of the Farragut North Metro station). The hotel is managed by the Autograph Collection Hotels division of Marriott International. The Mayflower is the largest luxury hotel in the District of Columbia, the longest continuously operating hotel in the Washington D.C. area, and a rival of the nearby Willard InterContinental and Hay-Adams Hotels. The Mayflower is known as the "Grande Dame of Washington", the "Hotel of Presidents", and as the city's "Second Best Address" (the White House is the first)—the latter sobriquet attributed to President Harry S. Truman (a frequent guest at the hotel). Today it is a four-star hotel.

The Embassy of Australia in Washington, D.C. is the diplomatic mission of the Commonwealth of Australia to the United States. The chancery is temporarily located in the National Geographic Building at 1145 17th Street NW. This temporary location will serves as the embassy for the next three years while the one on Scott Circle is demolished to make way for a brand new chancery to be unveiled in 2022.The current ambassador of Australia to the United States is Arthur Sinodinos, Australian diplomat and former politician, who succeeded Joe Hockey in 2020. He resides at the Australian ambassador's residence located at 3120 Cleveland Avenue, NW. The current Deputy Head of Mission is Paul Myler. In addition to the embassy, Australian consulates are located in New York City, Chicago, Honolulu, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

Nuns of the Battlefield is a public artwork made in 1924 by Irish artist Jerome Connor, located at the intersection of Rhode Island Avenue NW, M Street, and Connecticut Avenue NW, in Washington, D.C., United States. A tribute to the more than 600 nuns who nursed soldiers of both armies during the American Civil War, it is one of two monuments in the District that mark women's roles in the conflict. It is a contributing monument to the Civil War Monuments in Washington, D.C., listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 1993, it was surveyed for the Smithsonian Institution's Save Outdoor Sculpture! program.

The National Geographic Society (NGS), headquartered in Washington, D.C., United States, is one of the largest non-profit scientific and educational organizations in the world.Founded in 1888, its interests include geography, archaeology, and natural science, the promotion of environmental and historical conservation, and the study of world culture and history. The National Geographic Society's logo is a yellow portrait frame—rectangular in shape—which appears on the margins surrounding the front covers of its magazines and as its television channel logo. Through National Geographic Partners (a joint venture with The Walt Disney Company), the Society operates the magazine, TV channels, a website, worldwide events, and other media operations.

The D.C. Women's Hall of Fame (also District of Columbia Women's Hall of Fame) was a project supported by the D.C. Commission for Women and meant to honor the achievements of women from the District of Columbia. Eight women were inducted into the hall of fame in its first year, 1988. Women were chosen for making "significant contributions in the fields of community and public service, education, health or labor." The hall of fame can be seen in the Dr. Mildred E. Gibbs lecture hall at the Charles Sumner School.

The Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration (PRFAA)—Spanish: Administración de Asuntos Federales de Puerto Rico—is the executive agency of the government of Puerto Rico that represents the government of the island and its dependencies and municipalities before entities of or in the United States, including: The Federal Government of the United States Local and State Governments of the United States Public or Private Entities in the United StatesThe administration is similar to a State-Federal relations office and serves as the primary liaison between Puerto Rico's officials, the White House, Congress, and the federal agencies of the United States. Additionally, the office interacts with national organizations representing U.S. governors of other states such as the National Governors Association and the Southern Governors' Association. PRFAA also coordinates the lobbying efforts of the Puerto Rico executive branch in Washington, DC, and assists other Puerto Rican agencies and municipalities in grant-seeking efforts. The agency is also supposed to support the work of the Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico but the relationship tends to be tumultuous when the governor and the resident commissioner come from different political parties.
