Hurstville is a former hamlet in the town of Bethlehem, New York. Today it is part of the city of Albany. Hurstville was located in the area of a bend in the Albany, Rensselaerville, and Schoharie Turnpike (today New Scotland Avenue) at its intersections with Whitehall and Krumkill roads, just outside the city limits of Albany.

Academy of the Holy Names, or AHN, in Albany, New York, United States, is an independent, Middle States accredited Catholic girls' college-preparatory school for girls in grades 6–12. It is located within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany. The school was founded in 1884 by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. The mission of AHN is to prepare its students to become cultural, intellectual, moral, and spiritual leaders. Current enrollment for the 2021–2022 school year is 196 students.

The online museum focuses on political corruption. The museum is the idea of Bruce Roter, a composer and a professor of music at Albany's College of Saint Rose. His ideas for the as yet unfunded and unbuilt museum include installation of a revolving door, a "Lobby of Lobbyists," a "Tammany Lecture Hall" (referencing the corrupt, 19th century political machine Tammany Hall), a museum restaurant called the "Cozy Crony Cafe," and a gift shop selling a cookbook called the, "How to Cook Your Books' Cookbook." He hopes to open the museum in 2019.Although the museum is intended to be amusing and ironic, it will also be the product of careful design backed by serious scholarship. The Board of Trustees and Board of Advisers include Thomas Bass, professor of journalism and literature at the University at Albany, SUNY, Philip Mark Plotch, professor of political science at Saint Peter's University, Frank Anechiarico, professor of government at Hamilton College, Sarah Rodman of the Harvard graduate program in Museum studies, and Zephyr Teachout, one-time candidate for governor and professor at Fordham Law School.The proposal is backed by Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan and Albany Times Union columnist Chris Churchill, who hope that it will bring tourism to the city.The museum was recognized by the Cooperstown Graduate Program in Museum Studies as an "emerging institution." It is a registered a 501(c)(3) and it received a five-year provisional charter from the New York Board of Regents in October, 2015.

Buckingham Lake, commonly referred to as Buckingham Pond or Rafts Pond, is a body of water located in a residential area of Albany, New York. It has a surface area of 5 acres (20,000 m2) and a mean depth of three feet. The lake is adjacent to Buckingham Lake Park, a small recreation area with picnic tables and playground equipment. Three fountains help aerate water during the warmer months, while ice-skating often takes place on the lake's frozen surface during the winter. Wildlife at the lake includes ducks, Canada geese and red-winged blackbirds. The lake is surrounded by a gravel path that is a few feet wide. Streets that border the lake include Berkshire Boulevard, Euclid Avenue, Lenox Avenue, and Colonial Avenue.

Elsmere is a hamlet of the town of the Bethlehem in Albany County, New York, United States. The hamlet is a suburb of the neighboring city of Albany. From the northeast to the southwest, it is bisected by New York Route 443 (Delaware Avenue), which is also the hamlet's main street and a major commuter route into Albany. Delaware Avenue is also home to most of the office and retail locations in Elsmere, including the largest such location: Delaware Plaza. Elsmere does not have its own Post Office nor Zip Code, instead sharing with neighboring hamlet of Delmar. All locations in Elsmere use Delmar 12054 as the official address city and Zip Code.

The Whipple Cast and Wrought Iron Bowstring Truss Bridge (locally known as the Normanskill Farm Bridge), is located near the entrance to Stevens Farm in southwestern Albany, New York, United States. It was built in 1867, but not moved to its present location until 1899. It is one of the oldest surviving iron bridges in the county, one of the few that use both cast and wrought iron and one of only two surviving examples of the Whipple bowstring truss type. In 1971 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the only bridge in the city of Albany so far to be listed individually.A Syracuse-based builder copied Squire Whipple's original bowstring truss design, the patent for which had expired by the time of its construction. Where it was originally located is not known; it is believed to have been somewhere west of the city, possibly in Schoharie County. When the old Albany and Delaware Turnpike, today Delaware Avenue, was rerouted in 1899 to what is now Normanskill Drive, it was moved to its present location to make the farm more accessible from the main road. When Delaware was straightened out into what is today New York State Route 443 (NY 443), traffic on the bridge went down, allowing the bridge to remain in use, although only for cars. Today it is limited only to pedestrian use, and is closed in winter. The City of Albany approved a small-scale restoration project in 2012.

Krum Kill is a stream in the U.S. state of New York."Krum" most likely is derived from Dutch meaning "crooked".The Krum Kill proper starts in the location of the campus of the State University of New York at Albany, in the vicinity of what is called Indian Pond.Another creek originates a short distance west of there, near Crossgates Mall, and merges with the Krum Kill near the boundary between the Town of Guilderland and the City of Albany. Locally, both creeks are commonly referred to as the Krum Kill, sometimes as the north and south, or east and west branches. The Krum kill ends where it feeds into the Normans kill in the Slingerlands hamlet in the Town of Bethlehem.

Varsity Field is a baseball field located on the campus of the University at Albany in Albany, New York, United States. The field is home to the Albany Great Danes baseball team of the NCAA Division I America East Conference. The facility shares its name with the university's soccer facility. The field hosted the school's inaugural Division I baseball game on March 24, 2000, in which the Great Danes defeated the Canisius Golden Griffins 9–1.

Normansville is a former hamlet in Albany County, New York, United States. In the 19th century, Normansville was a hamlet in the town of Bethlehem. Normansville was located within and along the north and south banks of the ravine carved by the Normans Kill Creek, a tributary of the Hudson River.

The W. Averell Harriman State Office Building Campus is an office park in western Albany, New York, United States that houses sixteen New York State Government office buildings. The land totals roughly 330 acres (130 ha) and over 3 million square feet (280,000 m2) of office space, and about 7,000 state employees work there. The campus was built during the 1950s and 1960s in a suburban, car-oriented style bordered by an outer ring road that cuts the campus off from the surrounding neighborhoods. The campus is flanked by Washington Avenue to the north, Western Avenue to the south, University at Albany to the west, and New York State Route 85 to the east. With its own steam generation power plant for cooling and heating (Building 17) the campus is mostly self-sufficient.

McKownville is a hamlet in the town of Guilderland, Albany County, New York, United States. It lies along the eastern border of the town with the city of Albany. McKownville is a heavily developed suburb of Albany and is home to many strip malls, shopping centers, and a portion of the University at Albany, SUNY and is bisected by U.S. Route 20 (Western Avenue). McKownville is named for John McKown and family, early settlers from the late 18th century.

John Fallon Field is a 2,500-seat multi-purpose field in Albany, New York. It is home to the University at Albany ("UAlbany") Men's and Women's Great Danes lacrosse teams. The field opened in 2005, as UAlbany's lacrosse program has grown into one of the National power-house teams in Division I lacrosse. The current bleachers opened prior to the 2008–09 school year as temporary bleachers were used the previous seasons. John Fallon Field is located east of "The Bubble" and the Physical Education building. The field has hosted the 2002, 2003 and 2007 America East Conference men's lacrosse championship in which the Great Danes earned two of their four NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship bids (as of 2008). It also the venue for the women's lacrosse team, who have yet to earn the top seed and host their tournament, but have hosted the Gary Gait coached Syracuse Orange women's lacrosse team in 2008. On June 12, 2010 hosted the Chicago Machine the Long Island Lizards there in a Major League Lacrosse game.Due to growing popularity of lacrosse in the Capital Region, the first-ever men's lacrosse game was held at Bob Ford Field on April 18, 2015. It was the first time since March 10, 2007 that a top-10 matchup was held in the Capital District, with #4 UAlbany defeating #10 Delaware 13-7
