Rockcliffe railway station, later Rockcliffe Halt was a station which served the rural area around Rockcliffe, Rockcliffe parish, north of Carlisle in the English county of Cumberland (now part of Cumbria). It was served by local trains on what is now known as the West Coast Main Line. The nearest station for Rockcliffe is now at Carlisle. It lay some distance from the village.

Todhills is a small village on the outskirts of Carlisle, Cumbria, England. The village's name is from Old English tota-hyll "look-out hill". Located north of Carlisle, nestled between the border city and Gretna, Todhills is so small that it really is known as a hamlet and not a village. Todhills Rest Area is a rest area in between Junctions 44 and 45 of the M6 motorway in England. It is the last Services northbound on the M6 and the first southbound. It was first opened in the 1980s on the A74. When the M6 was extended in 2008, it was initially believed that Todhills would need to close so the road could be widened, but this did not prove to be the case, and the widening scheme was completed without having to close the rest area.

Beaumont (pronounced locally as bee-mont) is a village and civil parish in the City of Carlisle district of Cumbria, England. The village lies four miles north-west of Carlisle on the banks of the River Eden.

Cargo is a small village near the River Eden on the Solway Plain. Cargo is about 3+1⁄2 miles (5.6 km) northwest of Carlisle in Cumbria in the North West of England. The name Cargo reflects a combination of two languages; from the Celtic word carreg meaning "rock" and from the Old Norse word haugr meaning "hill". Circa 1870, it had a population of 262 as recorded in the Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales.

Metal Bridge is a small settlement in Cumbria, England between Carlisle and Gretna, formerly on the main A74 road. The settlement consists of a few properties clustered around a public house (now a restaurant) of the same name, on the south bank of the River Esk. The settlement and pub (and nearby forest plantation) derive their name from the Thomas Telford designed metal bridge that spanned the river at this point on the road to Scotland.The M6 motorway extension opened in December 2008 and bypasses the village, replacing the A74 road dual carriageway as the main route across the Scottish border.

Kirkandrews railway station was a railway station near Kirkandrews-on-Eden, Cumberland (now in Cumbria), England, on the Port Carlisle Railway branch and later the Silloth branch. The station served the village and the rural district. Kirkandrews closed on 7 September 1964; the station building survives as a private dwelling. The line to Silloth closed on 7 September 1964 as part of the Beeching cuts.

Kirkandrews-on-Eden or Kirkandrews-upon-Eden, in the past known as Kirkanders, is a village and former civil parish, now in the civil parish of Beaumont, in the Carlisle District of the county of Cumbria, England. The village is found 4 miles North-West of Carlisle. Kirkandrews forms part of the Barony of Burgh together with the nearby villages Monkhill, Grinsdale, Rattlingate and Burgh-by-Sands. The civil parish was merged into Beaumont in 1934. In 1931 the civil parish had a population of 145.
