Worcester Historical Museum

The G.A.R. Hall, formerly the Bull Mansion, is a historic Grand Army of the Republic Hall at in Worcester, Massachusetts. It is an ornate Victorian Gothic/Stick style two-story granite structure, designed by noted New York City architect Calvert Vaux. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

The Union Congregational Church or Chestnut Street Congregational Church is a historic Congregational church building at 5 Chestnut Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. The church is a well-preserved local example of Victorian Gothic Revival styling. Its basic appearance is reminiscent of the Notre Dame de Paris, although on a more modest scale. The building was designed by Earle & Fisher and construction took place between 1895 and 1897. Its main facade features twin towers flanking an entrance consisting of three trefoil arches, above which is a large rose window and an arched arcade connecting the two towers. The upper levels of the towers are open areas surrounded by paired narrow pointed-arch openings, and are decorated by crenellations and gargoyles. The main body of the church is covered in a slate roof (original replaced in 1948), and the stained glass of some of its windows was brought over from the buildings of other church congregations which merged into the Union congregation.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Horatio Tower House is a historic house at 71 Pleasant Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. It is one of the few relatively intact surviving instances of Italianate styling on the west side of the city. This two story frame house was built for Horatio Tower, a local builder whose work included the American Antiquarian Society hall and Mechanics Hall. Although the building has some Greek Revival features (such as the corner pilasters), its significant Italianate features include the deep cornice with brackets, and a front entry porch supported by Corinthian columns and a similarly styled roof.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Lower Pleasant Street District is an historic district at 418–426 Main Street and 9–49 Pleasant Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. It encompasses the only surviving row of Victorian-era commercial buildings in downtown Worcester. These buildings were built between 1872 and 1890, and are located along the north side of Pleasant Street, from its corner with Main Street nearly to Chestnut Street. 39 Pleasant Street is the location of Str8Up Entertainment. The most unusual of the six buildings is the Odd Fellows Hall at 9-15 Pleasant Street, which is the only commercial Gothic Revival building left in the city.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Slater Building is an historic commercial building at 390 Main Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. The ten story building, built in 1907 by the Norcross Brothers, was the second skyscraper in the city (after the Second State Mutual Life building, 340 Main Street). Framed in steel, the building is clad in granite stone on its first two floors, while the upper floors are faced in limestone. The upper two floors are set off from those below by a trim line, and have a recessed loggia framed by Corinthian columns.In 1939 the building's interior systems were modernized by architects Frost, Chamberlain & Edwards, successors to the original designers, and then still tenants of the building.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It is currently the 10th tallest building in Worcester.

Worcester Plaza (formerly known as Worcester County National Bank Tower) is a building located in downtown Worcester, Massachusetts at 446 Main Street. Designed by Kevin Roche John Dinkeloo and Associates, it was completed in 1974, and is currently tied with The 6Hundred as the tallest building in Worcester. It stands 289 feet (88 m) tall, is 24 stories high, and has 244,000 square feet (22,700 m2) of total floor space. Its façade is completely glass, similar to the 790-foot (240 m) John Hancock Tower in nearby Boston. The current building was built instead of a larger, more iconic design announced in 1969 that was never realized. The original design was a 696 feet (212 m) tall, 50 story, slender tower with an angled crown and would have been the "highest standing commercial building in New England.The building was most recently sold in October 2019 to Boston-based Synergy Investments for $16.5 million. It previously sold for $21.5 million in 2000.

The Robinson and Swan Blocks are a pair of mixed commercial-residential buildings at 104-108 Pleasant Street and 1-3 Irving Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. Built about 1884 to nearly identical designs by Fuller & Delano, the buildings are well-preserved examples of Victorian Gothic architecture executed in brick. They were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, but due to administrative lapses, are not listed in its NRIS database.

The Emory Bannister House was a historic house at 3 Harvard Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. Built in 1847, this Greek Revival house was an early design of Worcester architect Elbridge Boyden, and one of the city's few houses of the period with an identified architect. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It was demolished in 1981; its site is now a parking lot.

The Joseph Davis House is an historic house at 41 Elm Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. The Shingle style house was built in 1884 to a design by the Boston architectural firm of Peabody & Stearns, and is one of the most elaborate of that style in the city. It was built for Joseph Davis, the son of prominent Worcester lawyer Isaac Davis, and was home for many years to William Rice, president of the Washburn and Moen Company The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It now houses professional offices.

The Mechanics' Hall District is a historic district encompassing a city block of downtown Worcester, Massachusetts, United States that preserves its late 19th-century appearance. It is located on Main Street between Exchange and Foster Streets, and includes the Worcester Five Cents Savings Bank building and Mechanics Hall. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Worcester Five Cents Savings Bank is a historic bank building at 316 Main Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. The six story Romanesque Revival building was constructed in 1891 to a design by Stephen Earle. The building is unusual in downtown Worcester for its use of limestone and buff brick, and for its rounded corner bay. The building originally had plate glass and iron store fronts on its ground floor (the bank occupying the second floor), but this was redone in matching limestone sometime after 1949.THe Worcester Five Cents Savings Bank was founded in 1854 by Reverend Edward Everett Hale and others, and originally conducted business out of the bookstore owned by its first treasurer. When the institution had this building built, it first occupied the second story, while leasing the ground floor to the Quinsigamond Bank. The latter failed in 1902, and the bank then took over the ground floor as well. By 1953 it had expanded to occupy the entire building. The bank was merged into the Bank of New England in 1988. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, and was included in the Mechanics' Hall District in 1980. Some of its interior features, particularly the fine finishings of its original banking hall, have been covered over or lost. It served as the corporate headquarters of Chess King during the 1980s. It now houses professional service firms.

The diocese consists of Worcester County in central Massachusetts. The Diocese of Worcester is headed by a bishop who has his see at the Cathedral of Saint Paul in the city of Worcester. The fifth and current bishop is Robert McManus. The Diocese of Worcester is a suffragan diocese in the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Boston.
