Brigsteer is a village in Cumbria, England. On 1 August 2016 it was included in the Lake District National Park.

The River Pool is a river in the English county of Cumbria. The Pool rises at Waingap near the village of Crook and follows a southerly course, past the township of Underbarrow and into the Lyth Valley, where it joins the River Gilpin.

Cunswick Scar is a limestone scar (cliff or steep rock face) in the Lake District, England. There are extensive views from the large cairn at the top (207 metres (679 ft)). The scar is listed in the Scout Scar chapter of Wainwright's The Outlying Fells of Lakeland.Fossils can be found in the limestone on the scar and Cunswick Fell. The area is also of interest for its flora and fauna: Scout Scar and Cunswick Scar have been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Scout Scar, also called Underbarrow Scar, is a hill in the English Lake District, west of Kendal, Cumbria and above the village of Underbarrow. It reaches 771 feet (235 m). Scout Scar is the subject of a chapter of Wainwright's book The Outlying Fells of Lakeland, but the summit he describes is a lower summit at 764 feet (233 m), 270m south of the highest point. Wainwright's anticlockwise recommended route also includes Cunswick Scar at 679 feet (207 m). The higher summit of Scout Scar has a topographic prominence of 109m and is thus classified as a HuMP, a hill with a prominence of at least 100m.Scout Scar and Cunswick Scar are both formed of Carboniferous Limestone and dip gently towards the east with a steep western scarp slope.At the lower, southern, summit there is a shelter, locally known as "The Mushroom". It was built in 1912 as a memorial to King George V, and restored in 1969 and again in 2003. The structure includes a toposcope indicating the Central Fells and other landmarks.

Underbarrow is a small village in Cumbria, England, located 3 miles (4.8 km) west of Kendal. The village is in the Lake District National Park. It is in the civil parish of Underbarrow and Bradleyfield, in South Lakeland district, and has a parish council. In the 2001 census Underbarrow and Bradleyfield had a population of 351, decreasing at the 2011 census to 330.

Sizergh Castle is a stately home with garden and estate at Helsington in Cumbria, England, about 4 miles (6 km) south of Kendal. Located in historic Westmorland, the castle is a Grade I listed building. While remaining the home of the Hornyold-Strickland family, the castle with its garden and estate is in the care of the National Trust. In 2016 the Sizergh estate was included in the newly extended Lake District National Park.

Levens is a village and civil parish in Westmorland and Furness, Cumbria. It lies within the historic county of Westmorland. In the 2001 census the parish had a population of 1,007, increasing at the 2011 census to 1,049. The village lies four miles (6.4 km) south of Kendal off the A6 and A590 roads. Levens Hall is within the parish.

Causeway End is a hamlet in Cumbria, England.

The Lyth Valley is on the edge of the Lake District National Park in Cumbria, England. It gives its name to an electoral ward (one of 45 in South Lakeland).The valley is sheltered by limestone hills and enjoys a relatively mild micro-climate for northern England. It is noted for its damson orchards.

Levens Hall is a manor house in the Kent valley, near the village of Levens and 5 miles (9 km) south of Kendal in Cumbria, Northern England.

The River Gilpin is a river in the English county of Cumbria. Formerly, the river was in the county of Westmorland. The river rises near Gilpin Lodge in the vicinity of Bowness-on-Windermere and flows in a general south-by-south-easterly direction through Gilpinpark Plantation. At Crosthwaite, the direction of the river changes from south to south-east, continuing past the hamlet of Row into the Lyth Valley, where it is swelled by the much larger River Pool. From there, the river continues moving south to Sampool, where it meets the River Kent. The name of the river is in honour of the Gilpin family.
