Irby upon Humber

Aylesby is a village and civil parish in North East Lincolnshire, England. It is situated near the A18 road, approximately 4 miles (6 km) west from Cleethorpes and north of Laceby. The population at the 2001 census was 135, increasing to 155 at the 2011 Census.

Riby is a village and civil parish in the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. The population of the civil parish was 129 at the 2011 census. It is situated approximately 4 miles (6 km) south-west from the town of Grimsby.

Cleethorpes was a local government district in Humberside, England from 1974 to 1996. It was granted borough status in 1975. It was formed on 1 April 1974 and covered Cleethorpes itself along with a wider area including Humberston, Laceby, Stallingborough, New Waltham, and Immingham (formerly part of the Grimsby Rural District). Based at Cleethorpes Town Hall, it was abolished on 1 April 1996 (along with Humberside) when it was merged with the borough of Great Grimsby as the new unitary North East Lincolnshire.

Beelsby is a village in North East Lincolnshire, England. The village is situated approximately 6 miles (10 km) south-west from Grimsby. Beelsby population at the 2001 Census was 114, increasing to 119 at the 2011 census. The village is the source for the River Freshney. The Grade II listed parish church is dedicated to St. Andrew. In 1986 agriculture was centred on two farms: one run by the Beelsby Farming Company, the other by Fenwick Brothers, and both owned by members of the same family.

Swallow is a small village and civil parish in the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England, on the A46 road 4 miles (6.4 km) north-east from Caistor. The population (including Cabourne and Cuxwold) taken at the 2011 census was 289.

The Church of St Margaret is the Anglican Grade I listed parish church for the village of Laceby in Lincolnshire. Listed since 1967 and dedicated to St Margaret of Antioch, it seats today approximately 300 people.

Laceby's population at the 2001 Census was 2,886, increasing to 3,259 at the 2011 Census. The village is noted for its parish church, parts of which date to the 12th century.

Hatcliffe is a small village and civil parish in rural North East Lincolnshire, England. It is situated 6 miles (10 km) south-west from Grimsby and 1.5 miles (2.4 km) west from the A18. Less than 1 mile (1.6 km) to the north is the neighbouring village of Beelsby. Hatcliffe sits in the Lincolnshire Wolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Grimsby Rural District was a rural district in Lincolnshire, England, part of the administrative county of Lindsey, from 1894 to 1974. The district covered the town of Immingham and the parishes of Ashby-cum-Fenby, Aylesby, Barnoldby-le-Beck, Beelsby, Bradley, Brigsley, East Ravendale, Habrough, Hatcliffe, Hawerby-cum-Beesby, Healing, Humberston, Irby, Laceby, New Waltham (from 1961), Stallingborough, Waltham, West Ravendale, and Wold Newton. Four additional parishes were part of the district at some point, but were abolished prior to 1974. Little Coates was split between Grimsby borough and Great Coates parish in 1928. Scartho went to Grimsby borough and Waltham parish in 1928, and Great Coates went to Grimsby borough and Healing parish in 1968. Finally, Weelsby was given to Humberston and New Waltham parishes in 1968. The rural district was separate from the Grimsby county borough and the Municipal Borough of Cleethorpes, which it surrounded on three sides. When the county of Humberside was formed in 1974, the Grimsby rural district and the Cleethorpes municipal borough were combined to form the new borough of Cleethorpes. In 1996 the area became part of the new unitary authority of North East Lincolnshire.

Healing is a village and civil parish in North East Lincolnshire, England. It is situated between Stallingborough and Great Coates, and 3 miles (5 km) west from Grimsby. The village dates from at least the early medieval period, but later contracted to a few habitations. Healing railway station opened on 1 April 1881, and in the late 1800s/early 1900s the village expanded. The parish was once known as the site of a healing spring. Outside the village there are no significant habitations in the parish. A large textile fibre plant was constructed by Courtaulds near the Humber bank in the late 1950s, and near the boundary with Great Coates a large industrial estate, Europarc, was established in the 1990s.

Healing School, A Science Academy is a co-educational secondary school and specialist academy located on Low Road in the village of Healing, North East Lincolnshire, England.The school has a maximum capacity of 900 students. However according to the recent Ofsted report it has a student enrolment of 914 (as of 2019) Healing School serves the area of Healing and Stallingborough but the school has an intake from the Willows, Great Coates, Wybers Wood, Immingham, North Killingholme and other parts of Grimsby.

West Ravendale Priory was a Premonstratensian priory in North East Lincolnshire, England and one of nine within the historical county. The site of the priory lies 7 miles (11 km) south-west of Grimsby, and 1 mile (1.6 km) west of the A18. Its previous position is defined by earthworks and rubble. The ruins are Grade II listed, and lie within the civil parish of East Ravendale. The priory was founded in 1202 by Alan, son of Count Henry of Brittany, as a cell of the Premonstratensian abbey of Beauport in Brittany. Owing to wars with France it was taken into the possession of the English Crown, and was part of the dowry of Joan of Navarre, wife of Henry IV. After her death in 1437 the priory was assigned to the collegiate church of Southwell. The remains of the chapel of the priory survived into the early 20th century.
