Nykøbing Castle (Danish: Nykøbing Slot), now demolished, was located on today's Slotsbryggen in Nykøbing Falster, Denmark. Completed in 1594 in the Renaissance style, it replaced an earlier building from the 12th century. A royal palace, it was the traditional residence of Denmark's queen dowagers including Margrethe Sambiria (1230?–1282) and Queen Sophie (1557–1631). Christopher II died in the castle in 1332.

The Siege of Nykøbing or formally the Siege of Nykøbing Castle (Danish: Belejringen af Nykøbing Slot), was a siege of Nykøbing Castle, Falster between Danish and Swedish forces during the Danish-Hanseatic War (1361–1370). The Siege ended in a Swedish victory, though the Danes were able to achieve a good Instrument of Surrender.

Nykøbing Latin School (Danish: Nykøbing Latinskole) is a former Latin school situated on Slotsgade in central Nykøbing Falster, Denmark. The building was constructed as the private home of a wealthy merchant in 1786. It housed Nyjøbing Latin School from 1808 to 1953. It was decommissioned when the new Nykøbing Cathedral School on Poul Martin Møllervej was inaugurated. The building in Slotsgade was later used as police station from 1957 to 2007 and has now been converted into apartments. It was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1945.

Falsters Minder (literally Falster's Memories) is the city museum of Nykøbing on the Danish island of Falster. It is housed in the 17th century half-timbered building known as Czarens Hus (the Czar's House).

The King Frederik IX bridge (Danish: Kong Frederik den 9's Bro; named for King Frederik IX of Denmark) is a combined road and railway bridge carrying the Danish national road 9 as well as Sydbanen and Lollandsbanen railway lines across the Guldborgsund strait between the islands of Falster and Lolland in Denmark. It joins the larger part of the city of Nykøbing on Falster with the smaller part of the town on Lolland. The rail link is a part of the railway section of the Fugleflugtslinjen transport corridor between Copenhagen, Denmark and Hamburg, Germany. The bridge is 295 metres (968 ft) and 33.3 metres (109 ft) wide. It is a bascule bridge of beam design. The bridge carries four lanes of vehicle traffic and a single railway track.

Middelaldercentret (English: The Medieval Centre) is an experimental living history archaeological open-air museum in Denmark, which depicts the Middle Ages in the Denmark of the late 14th and early 15th centuries. It is located in Sundby Lolland, some 4 km northwest of the centre of Nykøbing Falster on the waterfront of Guldborgsund. It features a town built as part of a typical Danish market town with craftsmen, a harbour with ships and boats, and a market place. The employees are dressed in period costumes and live and work in the houses and do everyday activities such as craftmanship, cooking and weapon training. Furthermore, the museum has a variety of siege weapons of the period, such as trebuchets, a ballista and a cannon and smaller weapons such as handguns, longbows and crossbows. All of the items are built on site using period tools. Activities include live firing of the weapons daily, archery, knightly tournaments, and demonstrations of crafts and tasks from the late 14th century and early 15th centuries. The employees are both permanent staff and unemployed people sent in job training from the municipality. In addition, a support association exists, from which a large group of volunteers participates in the daily work. All the involved people "live in the medieval period", which means that they do not know of modern things like television, cellphones and so on. The former curator of the centre was the historian, writer and lecturer Kåre Johannessen. By 2016, the curator was Thit Birk Petersen. In 2021 Roeland Paardekooper took over as director He left the position in December 2023 allegedly because he was dismissed. Poul Schreiner Hansen was installed as interim director after this. Besides normal museum activities, the Middle Ages Centre does extensive research within the middle ages and different medieval technologies, and the museum has reconstructed weapons, ships, clothing and diving equipment among others. The museum has a reputation of being the most authentic place in Europe within the medieval period. Due to the authenticity the medieval town has been used as a setting for many movies, documentaries and TV-series.

The Abbey Church (Danish: Klosterkirken), also known as Nykøbing Church, in Nykøbing on the Danish island of Falster is a church in the Gothic style from the 15th century. Its origins go back to 1419 when Eric of Pomerania, king of the Nordic Kalmar Union, established a Franciscan monastery. One of its treasures is the Mecklenburg Ancestral Table (1627) presenting the ancestors of the dowager Queen Sophie.

Ejegod Windmill (Danish: Ejegod Mølle) is a smock mill located in the north of Nykøbing on the Danish island of Falster. The exterior was fully restored in 2002–2o1o. A toy museum was established within the old mill house in 2009s.

Guldborgsund is the strait between the Danish islands of Lolland and Falster. It connects Smålandsfarvandet in the north with the Bay of Mecklenburg in the south. The strait is about 30 kilometers long; its breadth varies from 150 meters at Guldborg to 6 kilometer south of Nykøbing Falster. It is navigable for craft of up to 6 metres draught in its northern part and is used for commercial traffic to Nykøbing Falster. The southern part is much shallower with a minimum depth of approximately 2 metres, and can only be used by yachts and other small craft. Guldborgsund is crossed by two bascule bridges, Frederick IX Bridge at Nykøbing and Guldborgsund Bridge at Guldborg, at the northern end of the strait. There is also a modern tunnel carrying euro route E47 from Copenhagen. Nykøbing Falster, Guldborg and Sundby have all have marinas in Guldborgsund. Furthermore, the open-air museum Middle Ages Centre has got a museum harbour which was dug out in the mid 1990s. This is the starting point for sailing with reconstructed medieval ships such as Gedesbyskibet. Guldborgsund was the location of the 2005 KFUM-Spejderne i Danmark National Jamboree.

Nykøbing Falster (IPA: [ˈnyˌkʰøˀpe̝ŋ ˈfælˀstɐ] ; originally named Nykøbing) is a city on the island of Falster in southern Denmark. It has a population of 16,927 (1 January 2023). Including the satellite town Sundby on the Lolland side, with a population of 3,178, the total population is 20,105. Nykøbing Falster is the seat of the Guldborgsund kommune in Region Sjælland. The city lies on Falster, and is connected by the 295-metre-long (323 yd) Frederick IX Bridge over the Guldborgsund (Guldborg Strait) waterway to the island of Lolland.

Nykøbing Falster Idrætspark is a football stadium in Nykøbing Falster. It is the home stadium of Danish 1st Division club Nykøbing FC. The stadium has a total capacity of 10,000, of which 2,000 is seated. For sponsorship reasons, the stadium was known as Scandic Live Arena between 21 September 2008 and 31 December 2011, Telenor Arena between 10 July 2012 and 31 July 2014, Enelco Arena between 31 August 2014 and 31 December 2016 and as CM Arena between 6 March 2018 and 2 June 2021. On 3 June 2021, a sponsorship agreement with Lollands Bank was announced, changing the name to Lollands Bank Park effectively immediately.

Nykøbing Falster railway station (Danish: Nykøbing Falster Station or Nykøbing Falster Banegård, often abbreviated Nykøbing F) is a railway station serving the city of Nykøbing Falster on the island of Falster, Denmark. It is located in the centre of the town, on the eastern edge of the historic town centre, and immediately adjacent to the Nykøbing Falster bus terminal. The station is located on the South Line which links Copenhagen with southern Zealand and the islands of Falster and Lolland. It is also the eastern terminus of the Lolland Line which links Nykøbing Falster with Maribo and Nakskov. The station opened together with the Falster Railway in 1872, and its second and current station building designed by the architect Ole Ejnar Bonding was inaugurated in 1963 as a part of the Fugleflugtslinjen transport corridor between Copenhagen and Hamburg. International trains operating between Copenhagen and Berlin called at the station until 1995. International trains operating between Copenhagen and Hamburg called at the station until 2019, but are temporarily re-routed via the Great Belt Bridge and Flensburg, until the opening of the Fehmarn Belt fixed link, expected to be completed in 2029.
