WYBC (1340 AM) is a radio station operating on the campus of Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. The station is owned by Yale Broadcasting Company, Inc.; however, it is programmed by Sacred Heart University under a time brokerage agreement. WYBC is a public radio station, airing a news/talk format.

Quigley Stadium is a stadium in West Haven, Connecticut, United States. It was originally built in 1947 from surplus bleachers that were once installed on flat bed light rail cars and towed alongside the Yale crew team as they competed off of nearby Orange Avenue. Maurice P. Quigley purchased these surplus bleachers off the rail cars and had them hauled approximately 1 mile to the current site which gave the field a capacity of 2,000 people. It opened on June 20, 1947. It was originally called Exhibition Stadium but subsequently renamed for Maurice P. Quigley, who built the ballpark and owned the semi-professional West Haven Sailors who played there, as well as Ship's Tavern in West Haven, a popular hangout among sports fans. Quigley sold the ballpark to the Town of West Haven in 1951. It is primarily used for baseball and was home to the West Haven Yankees and West Haven A's. The bleachers were razed in 1987. It is the current home of the Notre Dame (West Haven) High School baseball team and West Haven Twilight League amateur baseball league.

Redfield & West Streets Historic District is a state-designated historic district in New Haven, Connecticut. It is located in The Hill neighborhood in southern New Haven.It consists of a single city block, bordered on the south by Columbus Ave (US Route 1), on the northeast by Redfield St, on the north by Congress Ave, and on the southwest by West St. Both sides of West and Redfield Streets in the block are within the district, but only the south side of Congress Ave and the north side of Columbus Ave.

Evergreen Cemetery is located in the West River neighborhood of New Haven, Connecticut. It was founded by some of New Haven's most prominent citizens in 1848. Evergreen Cemetery is a non-sectarian, non-profit organization that is managed by the Association's board of trustees.

Congregation Beth Israel, also known as the Orchard Street Shul, is an Orthodox Jewish synagogue at 232 Orchard Street in New Haven, Connecticut. The synagogue building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The congregation was founded in 1913 by an orthodox congregation that was formed by Jewish families who had prospered sufficiently to move beyond the neighborhood of first immigrant settlement around Oak and Lafayette Streets to the area of upper Oak Street (renamed Legion Avenue in 1928) and Winthrop Avenue. First meeting in leased space, in 1915 the congregation moved into a remodeled house at 147 Orchard Street. In 1923 they purchased a lot at 232 Orchard Street for $12,000 (today $206,000) and built the present Colonial revival style building in 1925. The architect was Louis Abramowitz and the builder was C. Abbadessa.By the late twentieth century, the membership was elderly, the Jewish population of the city had moved elsewhere, and the future of the synagogue was in doubt.Efforts to preserve the synagogue were organized by the Cultural Heritage Artists Project and the synagogue returned to regular weekly use during 2011 under the leadership of Rabbi Mendy Hecht, whose grandfather Rabbi Maurice I. Hecht had been rabbi at the shul for 45 years, and whose father Rabbi Sheya Hecht had also served in the pulpit. The synagogue was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.The synagogue website [2] describes the historic restoration of the Orchard Street Shul that has taken place during 2012 and that there are traditional Shabbat services held every Saturday morning at 9:30 AM as well as on all Jewish holidays, with no tickets or membership required to attend High Holiday services.

The Ahavas Sholem Synagogue, once known colloquially as The White Street Shul and now as the Thomas Hill Chapel, is a historic religious building at 30 White Street in New Haven, Connecticut. Built in 1928 for an Orthodox congregation founded in 1912, it is a distinctive example of a neighborhood synagogue with elaborate Classical Revival styling, for which it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. The building is now home to Thomas Chapel, which is affiliated with the Church of Christ.

The American Mills Web Shop is a historic industrial complex at Orange Avenue and Front Street in West Haven, Connecticut. Developed between 1903 and 1914, it is a good example of industrial development of the period. The complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Betsy Ross Arts Magnet School is an interdistrict middle school located at 150 Kimberly Avenue, New Haven, Connecticut, with a focus on the arts. Students are offered an array of art subjects including music, visual art, dance and theater along with additional disciplines within each subject. While students do partake in arts classes during each school day, academic programs are also an important focus. Betsy Ross has many connections within the New Haven county community including the Quinnipiac University College Scholars Program and a residency with Shubert Theatre (New Haven).

The Hill is the southwesternmost neighborhood of New Haven, Connecticut. As early as 1800, this area was known as "Sodom Hill". Located directly south of Downtown New Haven, this neighborhood is home to residential areas, some light industry, New Haven Union Station as well as Yale-New Haven Hospital and the Yale School of Medicine.

The Union School is a historic school building at 174 Center Street in West Haven, Connecticut. Built in 1890, when the area was still part of Orange, it was West Haven's first brick school building, serving as a grammar school and high school for generations of local students. Now a senior living facility, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

The Ward-Heitman House is a historic house museum at 277 Elm Street in West Haven, Connecticut. The house displays furnishings and objects that might have been used by families that lived here in more than 250 years of residential occupancy. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

The Howard Avenue Historic District is a 32-acre (13 ha) historic district in The Hill neighborhood of the city of New Haven, Connecticut. Extending along Howard Avenue between Minor Street and Interstate 95, it contains an unusually high concentration of well-preserved late 19th-century middle class vernacular architecture, reflecting the area's growth at that time. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
