Cluses

The canton of Cluses is an administrative division of the Haute-Savoie department, southeastern France. Its borders were modified at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Cluses.It consists of the following communes:

Cluses station (French: Gare de Cluses) is a railway station in the commune of Cluses, in the French department of Haute-Savoie. It is located on the standard gauge La Roche-sur-Foron–Saint-Gervais-les-Bains-Le Fayet line of SNCF.

Pont Vieux (Old Bridge) is a bridge at Cluses, a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in southeastern France. It spans the river Arve.The span of the arch is 25.50 square metres (274.5 sq ft). This bridge was the only crossing on the Arve until the construction of the Pont Neuf ("New Bridge") in 1850. The current bridge was built in 1674 and restored in 1833. A graffito carved in stone mentions the name of the builder, Charles Barbier; the architect was François Guénot, who usually worked for Charles Emmanuel II, Duke of Savoy.The bridge replaces an earlier structure, built during the Roman occupation, and rebuilt in the Middle Ages. It has been a registered historic monument since 1975.

Nancy-sur-Cluses (French pronunciation: ​[nɑ̃si syʁ klyz], literally Nancy on Cluses; Arpitan: Nanfi) is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. In 2018 Nancy-sur-Cluses counted 462 inhabitants.

Taninges (French pronunciation: ​[tanɛ̃ʒ]) is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. Taninges is a pleasant town of over 3000 people in the French Alps, about 35 km directly east-southeast of Geneva and close to the commune of Cluses. It dates back to Roman times, and some Roman cobblestone mountain tracks are still in existence. The town has hotels, restaurants, cinema, municipal campsite, supermarket and petrol station. A river runs through the town, and there are many walking and cycling tracks in the area. There is also a tourist information centre with internet and multi-lingual staff in the centre of the town.
