Bodrigan

Bodmin Rural District was a local government division of Cornwall in England, UK, between 1894 and 1934. Established under the Local Government Act 1894, the rural district was abolished in 1934 to create Wadebridge Rural District as well as enlarging Bodmin Municipal Borough, Liskeard Rural District, Lostwithiel Municipal Borough and St Austell Rural District.

Keybridge is a hamlet in the parish of Blisland, Cornwall, England. It is named after an old stone bridge across the De Lank River. The bridge is built of granite and dates from the 17th century or earlier; it is a Grade II listed building. It is in the civil parish of St Tudy

The De Lank River (Cornish: Dowr Dinlonk, meaning ravine fort river) is a small river in north Cornwall, England. It is a tributary of the River Camel and is approximately nine miles (14 km) long from its source on Bodmin Moor to its confluence with the Camel two miles (3.2 km) south of St Breward. The De Lank River springs from Rough Tor Marsh between the two highest peaks on Bodmin Moor, Rough Tor and Brown Willy. Initially, its course is south between the peaks before turning southwest, past the southern foot of Garrow Tor, heading for the Camel. The De Lank's course is within the civil parish of St Breward. The river flows through an isolated area with few riverside settlements. Its upper reaches cross a bare moorland plateau and its lower reaches are characterised by ancient deciduous woodland. At Lank, near the confluence with the River Camel, the river flows through De Lank Quarries (the site of a Geological SSSI). The De Lank River is an important wildlife habitat noted for diverse and abundant flora and fauna. Together with the River Camel, the De Lank is an important habitat for the otter which is present along the whole length of the river. The De Lank is included in the Camel Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and River Camel SSSI.

Tresarrett is a hamlet in the parish of Blisland, Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is in the valley of the River Camel south of Wenfordbridge.

Wenfordbridge, or Wenford Bridge, is a hamlet some 6 miles (9.7 km) north of Bodmin and on the western flank of Bodmin Moor, in Cornwall, England. It takes its name from an old granite bridge over the River Camel, and lies on the border between the parishes of St Breward and St Tudy. Wenford Bridge was the terminus of a former railway line from Wadebridge that was originally built by the Bodmin and Wadebridge Railway in 1834. The line was built in order to facilitate the transport of sea sand for agricultural use from the estuary of the Camel to the local farms, and never carried passengers. Other traffic included granite and china clay from local quarries, and the line survived to carry the latter until 1983. Today the route of the line forms part of the Camel Trail, a recreational route for walkers, cyclists and horse riders.

Helland (Cornish: Hellann) is a civil parish and village in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is situated 2+1⁄2 miles (4.0 km) north of Bodmin. The meaning of the name Helland is unclear: it is possible that the origin is in Cornish hen & lan (i.e. old church). The original dedication of the church is unknown but St Helena is now recognised as the patron. The village is referred to in the Domesday Book as Henland. It was only valued at 10 shillings and only five households are recorded, with one virgate of arable land, 4 acres (16,000 m2) of woodland and 20 of pasture. Grade II listed Helland Bridge, built in the early 15th century crosses over the River Camel here. Lancarffe is a house probably built in the 17th century which is a Grade II* listed building (at Grid ref. SX0825268948). The parish has 2,483 acres (10.05 km2) of land.

Lank (Cornish: Lonk) is a settlement in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is situated approximately one mile (1.6 km) south of St Breward and six miles (10 km) east-northeast of Wadebridge in St Breward civil parish. It is in the civil parish of Blisland. The settlement consists of two hamlets, Higher Lank (to the north) and Lower Lank (to the south), situated on high ground between the valleys of the River Camel and De Lank River from which the settlements take their name. The De Lank granite quarry is half-a-mile east of Lower Lank. It is owned by Ennstone plc, a multinational asphalt and aggregates business. Wenfordbridge is half-a-mile to the west and was the terminus of a branch of the Bodmin and Wadebridge railway. A siding from Wenfordbridge ran between Higher Lank and Lower Lank and served the quarry via a rope-worked incline. The siding shut in 1940 but rail services to Wenfordbridge continued until 1985. The trackbed of the line south of Wenfordbridge is now part of the Camel Trail long-distance path and cycleway.

Longstone is a hamlet in Cornwall, England, UK. It is part of the civil parish of St Mabyn, and is about one mile east of St Mabyn village on the B3266 road. It is named after the menhir which formerly stood here. The "Longstone" was a standing stone which was broken up for gateposts around 1850. It was said to have been inscribed, thus making it early medieval. There is however a later medieval cross by the crossroads. It consists of a medieval crosshead placed on a modern rough hewn shaft which has been set into a medieval moorstone slab base. There was a Wesleyan Methodist chapel, built is 1872 and Sunday School, however, these have both been converted to private homes. The hamlet previously had a garage, which has now been demolished to make way for a housing estate, 'Gwel an Menhir'.

Hellandbridge (Cornish: Ponshellan) is a hamlet in Cornwall, England, UK. It is about a mile west-northwest of the village of Helland (where the population at the 2011 census was included) on the River Camel and next to the railway line to Wenford Bridge.

Tredethy is a house and estate in the civil parish of St Mabyn, Cornwall, UK, at Grid reference SX 06 71. It occupies seven acres and is one of a number of small manor houses in the parish all built in the 16th and 17th centuries. The house was extensively restored in 1892 by the prominent Cornish architect Silvanus Trevail. This was the seat of the Rev. Charles Peters (1690–1774), a Hebrew scholar. Later it became the home of Prince Chula Chakrabongse of Thailand who married Elizabeth Hunter, an English woman in 1938. Their daughter, Mom Rajawongse Narisa Chakrabhongse, was born in 1956. They lived at Tredethy in the 1940s and 1950s. At Bodmin there is an ornate granite drinking bowl which serves the needs of thirsty dogs at the entrance to Bodmin's Priory car park which was donated by Prince Chula. There is a similar granite drinking bowl at Mitchem’s Corner in Cambridge, donated in 1934 in memory of Prince Chula’s dog called Tony. In the 1960s Tredethy was converted to a hotel with 11 en-suite bedrooms.
