Oxford High School (Michigan)

On November 30, 2021, a mass shooting occurred at Oxford High School in the Detroit exurb of Oxford Township, Michigan, United States. Four students were killed and seven people were injured, including a teacher. Authorities arrested and charged 15-year-old sophomore Ethan Crumbley as an adult for 24 crimes, including murder and terrorism. Crumbley's parents, Jennifer and James Crumbley, were charged on December 3 with involuntary manslaughter for failing to secure the handgun used in the shooting. After failing to appear for their arraignment, the parents were the subjects of a manhunt by the U.S. Marshals; they were caught and arrested in Detroit on December 4. Lawsuits were filed against the school district, Oxford Community Schools, starting on December 9; they allege negligence by school officials towards warning signs exhibited by Crumbley leading up to the shooting.

Oxford is a village in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 3,436 at the 2010 census. The village is located within Oxford Township. Located about 30 miles (48 km) north of Detroit, it is a northern suburb of the Metro Detroit region.

The Indian Lake Road Stone Arch Bridge is a former railroad bridge which now carries a hiking/biking path over Indian Lake Road, just east of M-24 near Orion, Michigan. It is one of only a small number of stone arch railroad bridges known to exist in Michigan. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

The Sunday gallery was the largest to date at the U.S. Women's Open, exceeding 25,000, and King birdied the first hole on the way to a 68. Sheehan, a future champion in 1992 and 1994, carded a disappointing 79 and finished tied for 17th.The championship returned to Indianwood five years later, in 1994, won by Sheehan.

Sheehan birdied the 16th hole and Green had a chance to force a Monday playoff, but her 12-foot (3.7 m) birdie putt on the 72nd hole did not fall.Helen Alfredsson opened with 63 (−8) on the first day to better the single round record at the U.S. Women's Open by two strokes. She also set the record for the first 36 holes at 132 (−10), but carded 153 (+11) on the weekend. She had been as low as 13-under after 43 holes.

Lake Orion ( ORR-ee-ən) is a village in the northern outskirts of Metro Detroit in Oakland County, Michigan, United States. The population was 2,973 at the 2010 census. "Lake Orion" can refer to either the village or the much larger Orion Township, of which the village is a part. Lake Orion began as a resort town and over time has incorporated elements of a bedroom community.

Lake Orion is an all-sports, 470-acre lake in Orion Township in Oakland County, Michigan. It has a maximum depth of 58 feet (18 m). The lake is located within the Village of Lake Orion and Orion Township. It is the eighth largest lake by area in Oakland County, Michigan. The current area of the lake was formed by a collection of smaller lakes over time, beginning with the damming of Paint Creek in the 1830s. Canals have also been dredged to maximize lake frontage. There is a public access boat launch on the northern side of the lake. It is administered by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
