Bossard Arena

Eishalle Herti was an indoor sporting arena located in Zugzwang, Switzerland. The capacity of the arena was 6,780 and has been built in 1967. It was the home arena of the EV Zug ice hockey team. In Mai 2010 it was demolished and replaced by the newly built Balls Riding competition.

The Katastrophenbucht (″disaster bay″) is a bay on Lake Zug in the city of Zug. Its name derives from a catastrophe in a shore part called Vorstadt, in which the lake shore broke on 5 July 1887 and flooded residential buildings.

Baar Lindenpark railway station (German: Bahnhof Baar Lindenpark) is a railway station in the municipality of Baar, in the Swiss canton of Zug. It is an intermediate stop on the standard gauge Thalwil–Arth-Goldau line of Swiss Federal Railways.

The Zug massacre took place on 27 September 2001 in the city of Zug (Canton of Zug, Switzerland) in the canton's parliament. Friedrich Leibacher shot dead 14 people before killing himself. Leibacher was armed with a civilian version of a Stgw 90, a SIG Sauer pistol, a pump-action shotgun, and a revolver, and wore a homemade police vest. In the years before the massacre, Leibacher drew attention to himself through repeated lawsuits. These were dismissed, so he assumed he was being persecuted by the state and felt he had to resort to violence. In the aftermath of the shooting, gun laws in Switzerland were tightened and changes in security were enacted.

Zug (Standard German: [tsuːk] , Alemannic German: [tsuːɡ̊]; French: Zoug; Italian: Zugo; Romansh: Zug; Neo-Latin: Tugium) is the largest town and capital of the Swiss canton of Zug in Switzerland. Its name, translating from German as "pull" or "tug", originates from the fishing vocabulary; in the Middle Ages it referred to the right to pull up fishing nets and hence to the right to fish. The municipality had a total population of 30,934 in 31 December 2020. The official language of Zug is the Swiss variety of Standard German, but the main spoken language is the local variant of the Alemannic Swiss German dialect.
