Lincoln Park, San Diego

Abraham Lincoln High School (also known as Lincoln High Educational Complex, Lincoln High School, or simply Lincoln), is an urban public high school in San Diego, California, United States. It is part of the San Diego Unified School District. It serves approximately 2100-2700 students in grades 9–12 in the K-12 education system. It is located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Southeast San Diego, part of the Encanto neighborhoods. It was named after President Abraham Lincoln. Opened in 1949 and originally serving middle school students, Lincoln was converted into a high school in 1955. The original buildings were demolished and rebuilt during 2003–2007. The school has produced several nationally recognized popular sports figures. Lincoln High School is currently divided into four small academies. The centers' themes were the result of a 2005 parent survey. Lincoln Center for Social Justice Lincoln Center for the Arts Lincoln Center for Science and Engineering Lincoln Center for Public SafetyIn particular, the Center for Social Justice is educating San Diego's increasing activist culture. On Tuesday, February 10, 2009 a coalition of Lincoln High School along with Mission Bay High School, and several other schools including UC San Diego and San Diego State University sent hundreds of students, parents and teachers into the streets in support of banning weapons training in San Diego schools. The movement is reminiscent of the 1969/1970 Lincoln Walkouts which lasted for 10 days and resulted in the district's first Black principal.

47th Street is a station on the Orange Line of the San Diego Trolley located in the Chollas View neighborhood San Diego, California. The station primarily serves this mixed-income residential area and includes a park and ride lot.

San Diego College of Continuing Education (SDCCE) is a public, noncredit educational institution in San Diego, California. It is part of the San Diego Community College District along with three two-year community colleges: San Diego City, San Diego Mesa and San Diego Miramar colleges. SDCCE is administered by the San Diego Community College District and is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. SDCCE is the nation's largest separately-accredited noncredit continuing education institution. SDCCE offers noncredit career technical education; adult basic education and basic college preparation; life enrichment programs; general interest fee-based community education classes; and customized contract training classes designed for the business sector. Continuing Education serves approximately 40,000 students per year through its seven campuses: CE at Mesa College, CE at Miramar College, César E. Chávez, the Educational Cultural Complex (ECC), Mid-City, North City and West City; it also conducts programming at various other off-campus sites throughout San Diego. SDCCE is diverse: it is co-educational, multi-generational and multi-ethnic. It has a semester-based academic calendar with an added summer session as a regular part of its offerings.

Chollas View is an urban community in the southeastern section of the city of San Diego. It is bordered by Webster and California State Route 94 on the north, Mount Hope and Interstate 805 on the west, Emerald Hills and Euclid Avenue on the east, and Lincoln Park and the San Diego Trolley on the south. Major thoroughfares include Market Street and 47th Street.

Greenwood Memorial Park is a cemetery located on unincorporated land surrounded by the city of San Diego at 4300 Imperial Avenue in San Diego County, California. The cemetery is adjacent to Mount Hope Cemetery. Opened in 1907, Greenwood covers approximately 125 acres (0.51 km2) five miles east of Downtown San Diego. The cemetery is an example of a rural cemetery, incorporating architecture, art, and landscaping into its design. Greenwood and its accompanying mortuary are now part of NorthStar Memorial Group (NSMP).

It is bordered by Emerald Hills and Market Street on the north, Lincoln Park and Euclid Avenue on the west, Encanto on the east, and Alta Vista and National City, California on the south. Major thoroughfares include Imperial Avenue, Churchward Street, and Valencia Parkway.

Granger Hall, a historic building currently located at 1700 E. 4th St. in National City, California, was built in 1898 as an "acoustically perfect" music auditorium addition to a smaller music room in the Paradise Valley estate of Ralph Granger. Granger made a fortune in the "Last Chance" silver mine in Colorado during the 1890s. The building, moved later, has also been known as Granger Music Hall. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.It was originally an 80-by-32-foot (24.4 m × 9.8 m) room. It was designed by architect Irving Gill who learned acoustical technique working under Adler and Sullivan. The acoustic properties include a design having no parallel walls or surfaces, including having the floor slope slightly forward and the ceiling and walls having "a slight canter". The ceiling has a 75-foot (23 m) mural of Euterpe, Greek goddess of music, and cherubs.It was moved from its original location at 2600 East 8th 12 blocks to El Toyon Park, in 1969. The present hall is 100 by 32 feet (30.5 m × 9.8 m) in size, with the original music room incorporated as a foyer, and seats 150. It has a painted cedar shingle exterior.

Paradise Valley Hospital is a 291-bed acute care facility in National City, California. It began operation in 1904 as a sanitarium and is currently under the ownership and operation of Prime Healthcare Services, a hospital management company located in Ontario, CA. Paradise Valley Hospital is the largest private employer in National City, with a workforce of approximately 1,200 employees.

San Diego Academy is a private, coeducational K-12 Christian school in National City, California. It is a part of the Seventh-day Adventist education system, the world's second largest Christian school system. As set forth in its constitution and bylaws, San Diego Academy is governed by a Board of Trustees composed of pastors and elected lay people of the constituent Seventh-day Adventist churches, parents, and alumni. The school operates under the auspices of the Southeastern California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists Office of Education. San Diego Academy provides Christian education for K-12 young people in the Seventh-day Adventist churches located in the greater San Diego metropolitan area. The churches represented on the Board of Trustees are constituent members of the school and support it by giving an amount equal to 10.5% of their tithe income each year. Churches encourage each child in their church to attend. Some churches give added assistance to worthy families to make it financially possible for their students to attend.
