Tudor Grange Academy, Kingshurst (previously CTC Kingshurst Academy) is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Kingshurst, Solihull, England. It was the only City Technology College to offer post-16 students the opportunity to study the International Baccalaureate instead of A-levels. It also offers the options of studying for GNVQs and BTECs in various subjects.

Fordbridge is a town and civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull, in the West Midlands, England. It is 8 miles (13 km) east of Birmingham. According to the 2001 census, the parish had a population of 8,749. Fordbridge lies within the historic county of Warwickshire.

The WMG Academy for Young Engineers (Solihull) is a mixed university technical college in Solihull which opened in 2016. It caters for students aged 14–19 years.The Academy is part of the same trust as the WMG Academy for Young Engineers, Coventry. It is sponsored by WMG, University of Warwick.

Smith's Wood Academy (formerly Smith's Wood School and then Smith's Wood Sports College) is a co-educational secondary school located in Smith's Wood in the West Midlands of England.Smith's Wood School was awarded specialist Sports College status in September 2006 and was renamed Smith's Wood Sports College. Formerly a community school administered by Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, in April 2017 Smith's Wood Sports College converted to academy status and was renamed Smith's Wood Academy. The school is now sponsored by the Fairfax Multi-Academy Trust.

Babbs Mill Lake, sometimes called Kingshurst Lake, is a man-made lake in the Kingfisher Country Park in Kingshurst, Solihull in England. The lake was created as a balancing feature in times of flooding from the nearby River Cole.

Meriden Park is a public park located in Chelmsley Wood, near Birmingham, UK. The park has a large natural lake, natural woodland, a children's play area, a skate park and a football pitch. It hosts a number of community events throughout the year. Meriden Adventure Playground, sited in the park and operated by an independent charity, is one of the leading adventure play facilities in the country. It offers free, open access play to 0 - 16 year olds Tuesday to Friday after school and all day during holidays. Under fives must be accompanied.

Smith's Wood is a residential area in the north of the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull in the West Midlands of England. It is a civil parish with a population of 10,476, according to the 2011 census. The A452 and M6 form its north and east boundary, Kingshurst and Fordbridge its south, and Castle Bromwich its west. Smith's Wood also has several parks that are being redeveloped. The Smith's Wood estate is the site of the ancient 'Smith's Wood' – a historical woodland which was once part of the forest of Arden. It was officially designated a Local Nature Reserve in 2004 and is going to be enhanced as part of the regeneration project along with other green spaces. Smith's Wood is home to Smith's Wood Boys Football Club, a large boys' football club established in 1970. Nottingham Forest forward Jamie Ward is from Smith's Wood and attended Smith's Wood Sports College. Many flats and houses have been demolished and rebuilt in Smith's Wood as part of the regeneration of North Solihull. New features have included a high street, a community hub, and a new private housing estate on Burton's Farm Park. The Woodlands campus of Solihull College was completed in 2006.

Hemlingford Hundred was one of the four hundreds that the English county of Warwickshire was divided into, along with Kington, Knightlow and Barlichway. It was recorded in the Domesday Book under the name of Coleshill.At the time of the Domesday Survey this hundred was known as 'Coleshelle' Hundred and its meeting-place was at Coleshill; it is first called by its present name of Hemlingford Hundred in the Pipe Roll of 8 Henry II (1161–2). The hundred covered northern Warwickshire, including Birmingham, Nuneaton, Solihull and Tamworth. It was under the governance of several peers including the Lord of Packington Hall and Lord of Hermitage Manor with accompanying Stewards.It was itself sub-divided into four subdivisions, those of Atherstone, Birmingham, Solihull and Tamworth. The Atherstone subdivision comprised 15 parishes and 4 townships and chapelries: Ansley, Baxterley, Caldecote, Chilvers Coton, Corley, Fillongley, Lea Marston, Mancetter, Atherstone, Hartshill, Maxstoke, Merevale, Nuneaton, Attleborough, Stockingford, Shustoke, Weddington, Whitacre Nether and Whitacre Over.

Yorks Wood is a Local Nature Reserve in Kingshurst, Solihull, England. It is an 11 hectares (27 acres) ancient wood of predominantly oak trees. The River Cole is located south of the wood and located within Kingfisher Country Park.

Grace Academy is a non-selective co-educational secondary school within the English Academy programme, at Chelmsley Wood, Solihull, West Midlands. It opened in 2006 and replaced the old Whitesmore School. It is a specialist Business and Enterprise college. Grace Academy Solihull is constituted as a company and registered charity under English law.In 2009 the school achieved average results for Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4 but only 28% achieved 5 or more GCSEs grade C or above compared to a national average of 47.6%.

Sheldon Hall is an early 16th-century Grade II* listed manor house located on Gressel Lane in the Tile Cross area of Birmingham, England, consisting of a main block of two stories and attics built of red and black bricks with stone dressings. The city boundary runs along the eastern side of the property, and it was historically located within Warwickshire, near to the border with Worcestershire. The building is now used as a restaurant. In 1439 the manor of Sheldon belonged to Humphrey Stafford, 1st Duke of Buckingham passing on his death in 1460 to his grandson Henry Stafford, 2nd Duke of Buckingham, who was beheaded for treason in 1483. After the attainder of his son Edward in 1521 the whole of Sheldon manor was granted by the Crown to Thomas Grey, 2nd Marquess of Dorset. He died in 1530 and his son Henry Grey, 1st Duke of Suffolk was also attainted and beheaded in 1554. In 1575 Queen Elizabeth I granted Sheldon to Henry Grey on payment of an annual rental but he sold his rights to Sir George Digby of Coleshill Hall. The present hall was built by Sir Edward Digby for his son on the site of an older hall known as the East Hall. In 1751 the hall and surrounding land was bought and leased out by the Birmingham industrialist John Taylor of Bordesley Hall, Birmingham. The Digby family, however, remained in possession until 1919, when it was sold off. The building then gradually fell into a state of disrepair, but was saved from demolition when converted into a restaurant in 1997.Children growing up in the local area during the 1960s and 70s nicknamed the building Baldy's Mansion. Mr Albert Brayley owned the property in 1970s till the early 1990s
