Bowman Homestead

Eastland Mall was a two-level, enclosed shopping mall located in North Versailles, Pennsylvania, situated on 57 acres (230,000 m2) of land at the peak of a hill overlooking the Monongahela River. The mall was home to such stores as Gimbels, J.C. Penney, F.W. Woolworth Company, and Gee Bee Department Stores. The mall annex also included a two screen movie theater and auto repair center.

WEDO (810 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to McKeesport, Pennsylvania and serving Greater Pittsburgh. It carries a brokered programming radio format. Hosts buy segments of time on the station and may use their shows to advertise their products and services or seek donations to their ministries. The studios and offices are located at the intersection of Routes 30 and 48 in Irwin, Pennsylvania, sharing space with other BCI-owned stations.

North Versailles ( vur-SAYLZ) is a first class township in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 10,079 at the 2020 census. The township derives its name from the Palace of Versailles.

The Township of Versailles was one of the seven original townships of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania created during the first meeting of the Allegheny County Court in 1788. The other townships were Pitt (which included the village of Pittsburgh), Plum, St. Clair, Moon, Mifflin, and Elizabeth. Versailles was named for Versailles, France, in honor of the United States' French allies during the American Revolution.Versailles Township originally comprised that portion of the county lying east of the Monongahela River, south of Turtle Creek and north of the Youghiogheny River. A corner of the township broke away in 1842 to form the borough of McKeesport. The remainder split into North Versailles and South Versailles townships in 1869. Motivating this split was the growth of the communities of Port Perry and Coultersville at opposite extremes of the territory. Further divisions gave rise to the boroughs of Versailles, East McKeesport, Wall, White Oak, and portions of Wilmerding and Trafford.

Duquesne City School District is a small suburban public school district in the state of Pennsylvania. It is located in the east hills of Allegheny County, and serves the City of Duquesne, a former mill town on the banks of the Monongahela River. Duquesne City School District encompasses two square miles. As of 2019, the district's population was 5,543.In 2019, median household income was $29,844. The Pennsylvania Department of Education reports that 88.5% of the student population are economically disadvantaged. Historically, 100% of pupils receive federal free or reduced-price meals due to family poverty. The school is a federally designated Title I school.The district operates one school, the Duquesne Education Center, which serves students in Pre-Kindergarten through seventh grade. During the 2020–2021 school year, the Duquesne City School District provided basic educational services to 357 pupils through the employment of 33.5 full-time teachers, 31.5 full-time and part-time support personnel and one administrator. Of those enrolled, 83 students received special education services. The student–teacher ratio was reported as 10.66.

East McKeesport is a borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States, and is part of the Pittsburgh Metro Area. The population was 2,076 at the 2020 census.

The McKeesport Connecting Railroad Bridge, also known as the Riverton Bridge, is a bridge that spans the Monongahela River between McKeesport, and Duquesne, Pennsylvania.

George Westinghouse Memorial Bridge in East Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, carries U.S. Route 30, the Lincoln Highway, over the Turtle Creek Valley near to where it joins the Monongahela River Valley east of Pittsburgh. The reinforced concrete open-spandrel deck arch bridge has a total length of 1,598 feet (487 m) comprising five spans. The longest, central span is 460 feet (140 m), with the deck height 240 feet (73 m) above the valley floor, for a time the world's longest concrete arch span structure. It cost $1.75 million ($34.8 million in 2021 dollars). The design engineers were Vernon R. Covell and George S. Richardson, with architectural design by Stanley Roush. The pylons at the ends of the bridges feature Art Deco reliefs by Frank Vittor.The bridge is named for George Westinghouse (October 6, 1846 – March 12, 1914), the American entrepreneur and engineer. Nearby was the famous Westinghouse Electric Corporation East Pittsburgh Works, which is now an industrial park. Notable attractions visible while driving across the bridge include the Edgar Thomson Steel Works (U.S. Steel Mon Valley Works) and Kennywood Park.
