WFMT

WGN-TV (channel 9) is an independent television station in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Owned by Nexstar Media Group, it is sister to the company's sole radio property, news/talk/sports station WGN (720 AM). WGN-TV's studios are located on West Bradley Place in Chicago's North Center community (as such, it is the only major commercial television station in Chicago which bases its main studio outside the city's downtown business district); its transmitter is located atop the Willis Tower in the Chicago Loop. Like concept progenitor WTBS in Atlanta, WGN-TV—which, alongside WGN radio and the now-defunct regional cable news channel Chicagoland Television (CLTV), was among the flagship broadcasting properties of Tribune Media (formerly known as the Tribune Company until August 2014) until the company's purchase by Nexstar was completed in September 2019—was a pioneering superstation; on November 8, 1978, it became the second U.S. television station to be made available via satellite transmission to cable and direct-broadcast satellite subscribers nationwide. The former "superstation" feed, WGN America (now NewsNation), was converted by Tribune into a conventional basic cable network in December 2014, at which time it removed all WGN-TV-produced local programs from its schedule and began to be carried on cable providers within the Chicago market (including Comcast Xfinity, AT&T U-verse, WOW! and RCN) alongside its existing local carriage on satellite providers DirecTV and Dish Network. (Since September 2020, the Bradley Place studios have housed production facilities for WGN America's nightly newscast, NewsNation.) Although the Chicago station is no longer widely available within the United States on conventional pay television providers outside of its home market, WGN-TV continues to be available as a de facto superstation on some providers, including many Canadian cable and satellite providers.

WTTW (channel 11) is a PBS member television station in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Owned by not-for-profit broadcasting entity Window to the World Communications, Inc., it is a sister station to First Nations Experience (FNX) affiliate WYCC (channel 20) and commercial classical music radio station WFMT (98.7 FM). The three stations share studios in the Renée Crown Public Media Center, located at 5400 North Saint Louis Avenue (adjacent to the main campus of Northeastern Illinois University) in the city's North Park neighborhood; WTTW and WYCC share transmitter facilities atop the Willis Tower on South Wacker Drive in the Chicago Loop. WTTW also owns and operates The Chicago Production Center, a video production and editing facility that is operated alongside the three stations. WTTW is one of two PBS member stations serving the Chicago market, alongside Gary, Indiana–licensed WYIN (channel 56). WTTW, along with PBS Wisconsin flagship station WHA-TV in Madison, Wisconsin, serve as default PBS member stations for Rockford as that market does not have a PBS station of its own; both stations are available in that market on local cable providers. On December 7, 2017, Window to the World Communications announced that it was seeking to purchase WYCC from the City Colleges of Chicago in a move that would put WYCC and WTTW under one corporate umbrella. The sale was approved by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on March 13, 2018, and was completed on April 20.It is best known for being one of two TV channels in Chicago affected by the Max Headroom signal hijacking on November 22, 1987, along with independent TV station WGN-TV.

WFLD (channel 32) is a television station in Chicago, Illinois, United States, airing programming from the Fox network. It is owned and operated by the network's Fox Television Stations division alongside Gary, Indiana–licensed MyNetworkTV outlet WPWR-TV (channel 50). Both stations share studios on North Michigan Avenue in the Chicago Loop, and transmitter facilities atop the Willis Tower.

WPWR-TV (channel 50) is a television station licensed to Gary, Indiana, United States, broadcasting the MyNetworkTV programming service to the Chicago area. It is one of two commercial television stations in the Chicago market to be licensed in Indiana (alongside independent station WJYS [channel 62] in Hammond). WPWR-TV is owned and operated by Fox Television Stations alongside Fox outlet WFLD (channel 32); the stations share studios on North Michigan Avenue in the Chicago Loop and transmitter facilities atop the Willis Tower. WPWR-TV sold its spectrum space in the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)'s incentive auction, and began channel-sharing with WFLD on June 11, 2018.

WYCC, virtual channel 20 (UHF digital channel 25), is a First Nations Experience (FNX)-affiliated television station licensed to Chicago, Illinois, United States. Owned by not-for-profit broadcasting entity Window to the World Communications, Inc., it is a sister station to PBS member WTTW (channel 11) and commercial classical music radio station WFMT (98.7 FM). The three stations share studios in the Renée Crown Public Media Center, located at 5400 North Saint Louis Avenue (adjacent to the main campus of Northeastern Illinois University) in the city's North Park neighborhood; WYCC and WTTW share transmitter facilities atop the Willis Tower on South Wacker Drive in the Chicago Loop. WYCC previously maintained studios at Kennedy–King College on South Union Avenue and Halsted Parkway in the Englewood neighborhood. On October 25, 2017, WYCC, then owned by the City Colleges of Chicago, announced that it would terminate its affiliation with PBS, broadcasting MHz Worldview instead on subchannel 20.1 in the interim. The station ceased broadcast operations on November 27, 2017, but returned to the air on WTTW's spectrum on April 23, 2018. With MHz Worldview now transitioned to a streaming-only service, WYCC flipped to FNX on March 1, 2020, sharing its affiliation with commercially-owned WRJK-LP in Arlington Heights.

WMEU-CD, virtual channel 48 (UHF digital channel 18), is a low-power, Class A independent television station licensed to Chicago, Illinois, United States. Owned by locally based Weigel Broadcasting, it is a sister station to fellow Weigel flagship properties, CW affiliate WCIU-TV (channel 26) and MeTV outlet WWME-CD (channel 23). The stations share studios on Halsted Street (between Washington Boulevard and Madison Street) in the Greektown neighborhood, while WMEU-CD's transmitter is located atop the Willis Tower on South Wacker Drive in the Chicago Loop. Even though WMEU operates a digital signal of its own, the low-power broadcasting radius does not reach the outer ring of Chicago proper or surrounding suburbs. Therefore, the station can also be seen through a 720p high definition simulcast on WCIU-TV's second digital subchannel in order to reach the entire market. This signal can be seen on UHF channel 27.2 (or virtual channel 26.2), broadcasting from the Willis Tower transmitter. Additionally, CBS Television Stations contracts with Weigel to simulcast the subchannels of WBBM-TV over-the-air over WMEU-CD, in order to give viewers within the inner ring of Chicago access to that station via UHF, due to the limitations of WBBM's main channel 12 VHF signal.

WSNS-TV (channel 44) is a television station in Chicago, Illinois, United States, airing programming from the Spanish-language Telemundo network. It is owned and operated by NBCUniversal's Telemundo Station Group alongside NBC outlet WMAQ-TV (channel 5); it is also sister to regional sports network NBC Sports Chicago. WSNS-TV and WMAQ-TV share studios at the NBC Tower on North Columbus Drive in the city's Streeterville neighborhood and transmitter facilities atop the Willis Tower in the Chicago Loop.

WWME-CD, virtual channel 23 (UHF digital channel 20), is a low-power, Class A television station licensed to Chicago, Illinois, United States, which serves as the flagship station of multicast networks MeTV and Heroes & Icons. Owned by locally based Weigel Broadcasting, it is a sister station to fellow Weigel flagship properties, CW affiliate WCIU-TV (channel 26) and independent station WMEU-CD (channel 48). The stations share studios on Halsted Street (between Washington Boulevard and Madison Street) in the Greektown neighborhood, while WWME-CD's transmitter is located atop the Willis Tower on South Wacker Drive in the Chicago Loop. Even though WWME-CD has a digital signal of its own, the low-power broadcasting radius does not reach the outer ring of Chicago proper or surrounding suburbs. Therefore, the station can also be seen through a 16:9 widescreen standard definition simulcast on WCIU's third digital subchannel, with Heroes & Icons being carried on WCIU-DT4 in order to reach the entire market. This signal is broadcast on UHF channel 27.3 (or virtual channel 26.3) from the same Willis Tower transmitter site.

WCIU-TV (channel 26) is a television station in Chicago, Illinois, United States, affiliated with The CW. It is the flagship television property of locally based Weigel Broadcasting, which has owned the station since its inception, and is sister to two low-power stations: independent outlet WMEU-CD (channel 48) and MeTV/Heroes & Icons flagship WWME-CD (channel 23). The stations share studios on Halsted Street in the Greektown neighborhood, while WCIU-TV's transmitter is located atop the Willis Tower in the Chicago Loop. WCIU-TV is the largest CW affiliate by market size that is not owned or operated by Nexstar Media Group, which owns 75% of the network.

The station has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 3,300 watts, broadcasting from a transmitter atop the Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower). The studios and offices are located at Two Prudential Plaza in the Loop. WBBM-FM's main competition is 103.5 WKSC-FM, owned by iHeartMedia.

WKSC-FM (103.5 MHz) – branded "103.5 Kiss FM" – is a commercial Top 40/CHR radio station licensed to Chicago, Illinois. Owned by iHeartMedia, its studios are located at the Illinois Center complex on Michigan Avenue in Downtown Chicago, and its transmitter is located at Willis Tower. WKSC is the flagship station of the syndicated morning show The Fred Show.

WTMX (101.9 FM "The Mix") is a Hot AC radio station in Chicago, Illinois. Licensed to the suburb of Skokie, it is owned by Hubbard Broadcasting. WTMX has its studios located at One Prudential Plaza and its transmitter co-located atop Willis Tower (the former Sears Tower). WTMX broadcasts in the HD digital hybrid format.
