Stadtmitte (meaning: city centre) is an urban borough in the central District 1 of Düsseldorf, Germany. Stadtmitte borders with Carlstadt, Pempelfort, Oberbilk and the old town of Düsseldorf: Düsseldorf-Altstadt. In the Stadtmitte there are: Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof, the Main Station for Düsseldorf the Schadowstraße - one of the highest turnover shopping streets in Europe the greatest theatre of Düsseldorf (Schauspielhaus) the stock exchange of Düsseldorf WestLB, the central bank of North Rhine-Westphalia (Landeszentralbank) Thyssen-Haus (Dreischeibenhaus) the Königsallee, short Kö, a prominent shopping street.

The Hotel Römischer Kaiser (English: Roman Emperor Hotel) is a former hotel at Stresemanstraße 26 in the center of Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, which has more recently been used as an office and commercial building. It was designed by Josef Kleesattel and finished in 1904.

St John's Church (German: Johanneskirche), with its almost 88 m high tower, is the largest Protestant church in Düsseldorf. It is located at the Martin-Luther-Platz. The church was built from 1875 to 1881 in the Romanesque Revival style. It was severely damaged in World War II, but was saved from destruction and in 1953 it was reopened. The last major remodeling took place in 2008. There is a cafe through which one enters the actual church.

Schadowstraße is a shopping street in Düsseldorf, Germany, located in the districts of Stadtmitte and Pempelfort. The street cuts through downtown Düsseldorf, starting at Königsallee, passing the Tausendfüßler and reaching up to Berliner Allee. Schadowstraße is named after the German Romantic painter Wilhelm von Schadow. The Western section towards Königsallee is a pedestrian zone and has some landmark buildings, such as the Schadow Arkaden, a shopping mall designed by German architect Walter Brune in 1994, and the Peek & Cloppenburg flagship store, designed by American architect Richard Meier in 2001. A new underground station named "Schadowstraße" is currently under construction at the junction with Berliner Allee and scheduled to open in 2014. It is one of the most frequented shopping streets in Düsseldorf.

Steinstraße/Königsallee is a major underground station on the Düsseldorf Stadtbahn lines U70, U74, U75, U76, U77, U78 and U79 in Düsseldorf. The station lies on the junction of Steinstraße and Königsallee in the district of Stadtmitte. The station was opened in 1988 and consists of two island platform with four rail tracks on three levels. On the surface, Interchange to Tram lines 701, 705 and 706 is possible.

The Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus is a theatre building and company in Düsseldorf. The present building with two major auditoria was designed by the architect Bernhard Pfau and built between 1965 and 1969. It opened in 1970.

The Dreischeibenhaus (also known as the Dreischeibenhochhaus) is a 95-metre office building in August-Thyssen-Straße in the Hofgarten district of the Düsseldorf city centre. It was also known as the Thyssenhaus or Thyssen-Hochhaus owing to its former use as the headquarters of the Thyssen and ThyssenKrupp groups. It is among the most significant examples of post-war modernist International style and a symbol of the so-called Wirtschaftswunder, or 'economic miracle' of post-war Germany, and contrasts with the neighbouring Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus on Gustaf-Gründgens-Platz. Dreischeibenhaus, The "Three Plates Building" (a rough translation of its name in German), was one of the first skyscrapers to be completed in Germany after WW2.In the early 1990s the building was completely refurbished including a new curtain wall matching the appearance of the original, but with improved thermal performance and moisture control.After another complete renovation under the direction of Düsseldorf HPP Architects in 2013, the skyscraper now offers 35,000 m2 of gross floor area.
