Machesney Airport (IATA: RMC) was a small rural airport located in Machesney Park, Illinois, United States.

Machesney Park Mall was a shopping center in Machesney Park, Illinois, a village in the Rockford, Illinois metropolitan area. Since its opening, the mall has greatly declined. The entire enclosed portion of the mall was closed, with the south wing becoming retail space. Other parts of the mall have become retail space as well. A large portion of the mall was transformed into two separate stores, Burlington Coat Factory and Big Lots, in an effort to transform the mall into a shopping plaza.

The freshman campus for 9th grade was closed in 2019; new freshmen are incorporated into the main high school. Its sport teams are named the Harlem Huskies.

Victory Sports Complex is a 54,000-square-foot (5,000 m2) multi-purpose arena, in Loves Park, Illinois, just outside the city of Rockford. Opening in 2007, the VSC became home to the Rockford Victory in 2008, when the team announced that it would be playing in the Ultimate Soccer League. Then in 2011, the Continental Indoor Football League's Chicago Knights, moved to VSC due to a conflicts with the Odeum Expo Center. For the 2012–13 season, the complex was home to the Rockford Rampage of the Professional Arena Soccer League.

Rockford Speedway is a 1/4 mile short track high banked asphalt oval located in Loves Park, Illinois on Illinois Route 173. Rockford Speedway, Chicagoland Speedway, and World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway are the only racetracks running under NASCAR sanctions in Illinois.It hosts weekly local-level events during the summer racing season as well as occasional regional- and national-level events. Notable special events at the track include trailer races, endurance races, the Spring Classic, ALl-Star 100, Bahama Bracket Nationals, and the National Short Track Championship.

Rockford Lutheran High School is a private school in Rockford, Illinois. Established in 1964, Rockford Lutheran High School is associated with 25 area Lutheran Churches. The Lutheran churches have associations with both ELCA and LCMS. Students attend more than 100 area churches; 49% attend a Lutheran church. Boylan Central Catholic High School is a private Catholic high school located in Rockford, Illinois, United States. Founded in 1960, Boylan is the only Catholic high school in that city. At the start of the 2010–2011 school year, there were 1187 students enrolled. Enrollment numbers have decreased in the subsequent years. According to the school's website, in 2015–2016, the total number of students was only 956. It is located in and administered by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockford.
