International Police Training Center located in Ankara, Turkey is the third biggest police training center on earth after the FBI Academy in the United States and the Police Staff College, Bramshill in the United Kingdom. The whole campus was designed by the Turkish architect Günay Erdem and world known landscape architect Sunay Erdem, with the support of landscape architect Serpil Öztekin Erdem.

Turkish Airlines Flight 835 was a scheduled domestic passenger flight from Adana Şakirpaşa Airport,to Esenboğa International Airport, Ankara, Turkey. On 23 September 1961 at 20:02 EET (18:02 UTC), the aircraft operating the flight, a brand-new Fokker F27 Friendship 100 struck the Karanlıktepe hill in Ankara Province on final approach some 18 kilometres (11 mi) off the runway centerline. There were 25 passengers and four crew on board, of which 24 passengers and all four crew members were killed in the accident. The probable cause of the accident was that the aircraft was not in the normal flying pattern and was well below its designated altitude.

Aktepe Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Ankara, Turkey. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home of Keçiörengücü. The stadium holds 5,000 people and was built in 1999.

The Çubuk-1 Dam is a concrete gravity dam on the Çubuk Stream near Çubuk in Ankara Province, Turkey. It is located 12 km north of the center of Ankara and was built to control floods and provide drinking water to the city. Its construction lasted from 1930 to 1936; Mustafa Kemal Atatürk attended its inauguration on November 3, 1936. It was the first concrete dam constructed in Turkey and the first constructed in Ankara, and is recognized by Turkey's Chamber of Civil Engineers as one of the country's top 50 engineering feats. It is owned and maintained by the Turkish State Hydraulic Works and was constructed at a cost of 2.32 million TRY. The dam is 25 m (82 ft) tall, 900 m (3,000 ft) long and made of 120,000 m3 (4,200,000 cu ft) of concrete. The aggregate for the concrete was derived from volcanic rock in nearby areas. It has a circular axis of 200 m (660 ft) and its arch-like design was used for stability. Hardly used, its reservoir has a normal volume of 1,200 m3 (42,000 cu ft) and surface area of 1 km2 (0.39 sq mi). The dam's reservoir used to be a popular recreational area. Silt accumulation in the reservoir along with raw sewage being dumped upstream halted water supply from the dam in 1994. Since then, efforts have been ongoing to remove the polluted silt from the former reservoir bed. The area behind the dam will also be restored into a park once complete. Before being mostly emptied, the reservoir's elevations above sea level were 906.25 m (2,973.3 ft) at full capacity, 900 m (3,000 ft) at two-thirds capacity and 895 m (2,936 ft) at half.

Keçiören is a metropolitan district of Ankara Province in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey, a crowded district in the northern part of the city of Ankara. According to 2010 census, population of the district center is 817,262 The district covers an area of 190 km2 (73 sq mi), and the average elevation is 850 m (2,789 ft). The Çubuk River runs through the middle of the district.

Gülhane Training and Research Hospital (Turkish: Gülhane Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi) (GEAH), formerly known as Gülhane Military Medical Academy (Turkish: Gülhane Askeri Tıp Akademisi) (GATA), was founded by Abdülhamit II in 1898 in Istanbul as Gülhane Seririyat Hospital. It moved to Ankara in 1941.

Gökçek Park is a public park in Ankara, Turkey. Gökçek Park is in Keçiören which is district of Ankara. The park area is about 5.4 ha (13 acres). It is named after Melih Gökçek, the mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality.

Şehitler is an underground rapid transit station of the Ankara Metro. The station was opened on 5 January 2017, the same day the M4 line opened which is also one of the terminus stations of the line.

İncirli is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Keçiören, Ankara Province, Turkey. Its population is 30,440 (2022). The Yunus Emre Avenue is the main road in the neighbourhood. It is bordered by Etlik, Aşağı Eğlence, Esertepe and Kuşcağız neighbourhoods within the same district.

Altındağ is a metropolitan district of Ankara Province in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey, part of the city of Ankara. According to the 2000 census, the population of the district is 407,101, of which 400,023 live in the urban center of Altındağ. The district covers an area of 175 km2 (68 sq mi), and the average elevation is 850 m (2,789 ft).

Esertepe Aqua Center is a multifunctional project of famous Turkish architect Günay Erdem located at Esertepe, Ankara which includes various recreational and sports activities based on water usage.
