Gülhane Training and Research Hospital (Turkish: Gülhane Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi) (GEAH), formerly known as Gülhane Military Medical Academy (Turkish: Gülhane Askeri Tıp Akademisi) (GATA), was founded by Abdülhamit II in 1898 in Istanbul as Gülhane Seririyat Hospital. It moved to Ankara in 1941.

Şehitler is an underground rapid transit station of the Ankara Metro. The station was opened on 5 January 2017, the same day the M4 line opened which is also one of the terminus stations of the line.

Turkish Airlines Flight 835 was a scheduled domestic passenger flight from Adana Şakirpaşa Airport,to Esenboğa International Airport, Ankara, Turkey. On 23 September 1961 at 20:02 EET (18:02 UTC), the aircraft operating the flight, a brand-new Fokker F27 Friendship 100 struck the Karanlıktepe hill in Ankara Province on final approach some 18 kilometres (11 mi) off the runway centerline. There were 25 passengers and four crew on board, of which 24 passengers and all four crew members were killed in the accident. The probable cause of the accident was that the aircraft was not in the normal flying pattern and was well below its designated altitude.

Pursaklar is a municipality and metropolitan district of Ankara Province, Turkey. Its area is 169 km2, and its population is 162,389 (2022). It became a town municipality within the district of Keçiören in 1986. In 2008 it became a district, and the former municipalities of Sarayköy, Sirkeli and Altınova (partly) were added to it.
