Bishop's Nympton is a village and civil parish in the North Devon district of Devon, England, about three miles east of South Molton. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 932. The electoral ward has the same name but covers the village and much of the land to the north-east. The ward population at the 2011 census was 1,911.It has been the main area for the filming of a 1990s television program called The Passion. It was also home to wildlife filmmaker Johnny Kingdom who is buried in the village cemetery just outside the village.The tall, 15th-century church tower is a local landmark, and contains a Norman baptismal font, a 15th-century arcade, and a "richly carved" Easter Sepulchre monument generally assumed to commemorate Sir Lewis Pollard (d.1526), Judge of the Common Pleas. It has also been the location of some dispute over the recent closing of many Post Offices across the UK, and therefore the Post Office in Bishops Nympton has been partially reprieved, following a campaign by villagers and intervention by Devon County Council. From June 2009, the Post Office has been open mornings only, a great improvement on the proposed outreach service. The shop on the premises has been run by volunteers as a community shop, again with support from Devon County Council, as well as the villagers themselves. It has been successful since its opening. A replacement for the previous (wooden) village hall was built after a long campaign of fund-raising by the villagers. Sources of funding included £15,000 from the parish council, £95,000 from the sale of the village hall, £100,000 from Leader 4 Funding and £17,000 from a section 106 agreement. It was formally opened by Mrs Frances Gunn on Friday, 3 June 2011. The village shop and Post Office moved to a purpose-built part of the new hall in the summer of 2011.

Romansleigh is a village and civil parish in the North Devon district of Devon, England. It is surrounded clockwise from the north by the parishes of Mariansleigh, Meshaw, Chulmleigh, and King's Nympton. In 2001 its population was 98, compared with 155 in 1901. The parish church, dedicated to Saint Rumon, was completely rebuilt in 1868.

Rose Ash, formerly Ralph-Esse, is a village and civil parish in North Devon district, Devon, England. In the 2011 census it was recorded as having a population of 298.The neighbouring parishes are Bishop's Nympton to the north, Knowstone and Rackenford to the east, East Worlington to the south, and Meshaw and Mariansleigh to the west.There are 40 listed buildings in the parish. South Yarde farmhouse is believed to be late 15th or early 16th century and is Grade I listed, and the adjacent North Yarde house, Grade II* listed, was "probably originally the kitchen range to South Yarde". The parish church of St Peter is Grade II* listed: it was rebuilt in 1889–1892 but retains its medieval tower and north aisle. The other listed buildings, including the village hall and the former school and school-house, are Grade II.There was previously a school in the village, which opened in 1878 as Rose Ash Board School, changed its name to Rose Ash Council School, and closed in 1948. Its archives are held at North Devon Record Office.Rose Ash Post Office and shop closed in the 1970s.

Ash Mill is a village in Devon, England.Ashmill was the site of Ashwater station on the former L.S.W.R. North Cornwall line which closed in the 1960s. The station survives as a private residence.

There is no actual settlement by the name - the parish was originally an exclave of South Molton, but was split to form a separate civil parish in 1894.From northwards clockwise, the parish borders George Nympton, Bishop's Nympton, Mariansleigh, and King's Nympton.

Whitechapel is an ancient former manor within the parish of Bishops Nympton, in north Devon. It was the earliest known residence of the locally influential Bassett family until 1603. The core of the present manor house is late 16th or early 17th century, with later additions and alterations, and was classed as Grade I listed on 9 June 1952.

South Molton Community College (known to students and teachers as SMCC) is a coeducational foundation secondary school located in South Molton in the English county of Devon.Previously a community school administered solely by Devon County Council, on 2 January 2012 South Molton Community College became a foundation co-operative trust school, partnered with Mole Valley Farmers.South Molton Community College offers GCSEs, BTECs and OCR Nationals as programmes of study for pupils. As of 2021, it also offers students the opportunity to take initial military training.Construction of a new school in North Devon was completed in April 2017.In 2018, a former drama teacher from the school was jailed for voyeurism and possession of indecent images of children after he admitted secretly filming students changing at the school. He was acquitted of other related charges.

Witheridge is a village and civil parish in the North Devon district of Devon, England. In 2001 the population of the parish was 1162, reducing slightly to 1,158 at the 2011 Census. An electoral ward with the same name exists. The population at the above census was 2,313. Its name may be derived from the Old English for "Weather Ridge", which would fit with the village's somewhat exposed situation. Situated almost equidistant from Dartmoor and Exmoor, the village has earned the nickname the Gateway to the Two Moors Way. Butcher FJP Maunder established his business in the village in 1879, which taken over by his son became local butchers chain Lloyd Maunder. The village is home to two shops, a pub, restaurant and a cafe. There is also the home to Mid Devon Medical Practice. It is also home to a Gothic-style church, built circa 1500, and restored in 1841 and 1884. The stone pulpit located in the church is one of just 70 medieval stone pulpits in England.The village is twinned with Cambremer, France, and the two villages have annual exchange trips (although not solely for students).

Thelbridge is a village and civil parish in the Mid Devon district, in the county of Devon, England. It is 5 miles NE of Morchard Road railway station and 8½ NNW of Crediton.The local church, St David's has medieval origins but was completely rebuilt in 1872–1875. It is grade II* listed and is in a Gothic style.The Thelbridge Cross Inn is a former coaching inn built of stone and cob and dates from the 1700s.

South Molton is a town and civil parish in Devon, England. It is part of the North Devon local government district. The town is on the River Mole. South Molton is a market town trading mostly in sheep and cattle. There was a railway station on the Devon Railway until 1966, when the branch line was closed. It is situated on the southern side of Exmoor just off the A361 North Devon link road, which in part follows the route of the railway line.
