St. Adelbert's Church (Bronx)

The 156th Street station was a local station on the demolished IRT Third Avenue Line in the Bronx, New York City. It was originally opened on July 1, 1887 by the Suburban Rapid Transit Company, and had three tracks and two side platforms. The next stop to the north was 161st Street. The next stop to the south was 149th Street. The station closed on April 29, 1973.

With over 144,000 emergency department visits annually, Lincoln has the busiest single site emergency department in New York City and the third busiest in the nation.

The Church of Saints Peter and Paul is a Roman Catholic parish church under the authority of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located at 833 St. Ann's Avenue, Bronx, New York City. The parish was established in 1897.According to Bronx Catholic, the church dates from 1932. The architect was Robert J. Reiley. It is one of the parishes in the Bronx that is home to communities of the Neocatechumenal Way.

161st Street is a short, major thoroughfare in the southern portion of the Bronx. The road is 1.6 miles (2.6 km) long and is a much used access to Yankee Stadium on its north side. The 20th-century Yankee Stadium was on the south side of the street. The road begins in the west at an intersection with Jerome Avenue, a major thoroughfare in the Bronx, and Woodycrest Avenue, a one-way street in the Bronx. The road is one of the widest in the Bronx, until the Sheridan Avenue intersection, where the divided highway merges. East 161st Street ends at Elton Avenue. However, the road continues eastward in parts, ending at Hewitt Place, as a short connector.

Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a Roman Catholic parish church under the authority of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located at 150th Street at Melrose Avenue, Bronx, New York City, in the Melrose neighborhood of the South Bronx. The parish was established in 1853. It is staffed by the Redemptorist Fathers. The church boasts the highest steeple in the Bronx.

Morrisania Air Rights is a New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) public housing project in Melrose and Morrisania, Bronx, consisting of three buildings, 19, 23, and 29 stories tall. There are 843 apartments housing some 1,952 residents. It was designed by the architectural firm, The Eggers Partnership also known as Eggers & Higgins.

The South Bronx is an area of the New York City borough of the Bronx. The area comprises neighborhoods in the southern part of the Bronx, such as Concourse, Mott Haven, Melrose, and Port Morris. In the early 1900s, the South Bronx was originally known as the Manor of Morrisania, as it was the manor of Lewis Morris. As the Morris family continued to expand on the land, an influx of German and Irish immigrants started to populate the area, leading the Bronx to be considered the "Jewish Borough" in the 1930s. This soon changed as World War II caused rent to increase in many apartments, pushing people out. By the end of the 1950s, the South Bronx was two-thirds African American or Hispanic (of any race).The South Bronx is known for its hip hop culture and graffiti. Graffiti became popular in the Bronx in the early 1970s, spreading through the New York City Subway system. The South Bronx then became musically notable as hip-hop music, rap, and other creative components started becoming common within the borough.

The Hub is a major commercial center for the South Bronx, New York. It is located where four roads converge: East 149th Street, and Willis, Melrose and Third Avenues. It is primarily located inside the neighborhood of Melrose but also lines the northern border of Mott Haven.The Hub, short for "the Hub of the Bronx," has also been called "the Broadway of the Bronx". It is the site of both maximum traffic and architectural density. In configuration, it resembles a miniature Times Square, a spatial "bow-tie" created by the geometry of the street intersections. It is a primary shopping district for Bronx residents, and many new hip hop trends can be found in the Hub long before they spread to the rest of New York City and the world. The area is part of Bronx Community Board 1.

The Third Avenue–149th Street station is a station on the IRT White Plains Road Line of the New York City Subway. It is located at Third Avenue and East 149th Street (the latter of which is also known as Eugenio Maria de Hostos Boulevard) in the Hub in the South Bronx adjacent to Mott Haven and Melrose. The station is served by the 2 train at all times and the 5 train at all times except nights. The station is the second-busiest in the Bronx and 59th overall, with around 6.768 million passengers using the station as of 2019.

Alfred E. Smith Career and Technical Education High School is a vocational public high school in the South Melrose neighborhood of The Bronx, New York. It was originally built in the early 20th century as the "Bronx Continuation School" for students who left the school system. The school eventually became a vocational high school in the 1920s. The school was named after the former New York governor and Democratic nominee for president, Alfred E. Smith in 1965. Its address is 333 E. 151 Street. The school is near the Third Avenue and E. 149th Street station of the 2 and 5 IRT trains. The principal is Evan Schwartz. As of the 2014–15 school year, the school had an enrollment of 377 students and 33.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.4:1. There were 315 students (83.6% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 23 (6.1% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch." The school offers automotive, home construction, plumbing, and heating/air-conditioning ventilation programs. There are plenty of shops where students work on real cars brought in by people in the community. The school also has a room large enough for those studying carpentry to construct a full size wooden frame house.The New York City Department of Education planned in 2010 to close the school but the plan was cancelled after strong protests from the community.

The Bronx Borough Courthouse, commonly referred to as the Old Bronx Borough Courthouse, is a building in the Melrose neighborhood of the Bronx, New York City. The courthouse was built between 1905 and 1914 near Boston Road, Third Avenue, St. Anns Avenue, and 161st Street. The 161st Street station of the New York City Subway's IRT Third Avenue elevated was in front of the courthouse. For two decades it housed the Supreme, Surrogate's, and County Courts of the borough until the larger Bronx County Courthouse was built in 1934. The Bronx Branch of the New York City Criminal Court remained here until 1977 when the city formally sealed the doors. It is a National Register of Historic Places listing and a New York City Landmark.
