Lincoln Hospital is a full service medical center and teaching hospital affiliated with Weill Cornell Medical College, in the Mott Haven neighborhood of the Bronx, New York City, New York. The medical center is municipally owned by NYC Health + Hospitals.Lincoln is known for innovative programs addressing the specific needs of the community it serves, aggressively tackling such issues as asthma, obesity, cancer, diabetes and tuberculosis. Staffed by a team of more than 300 physicians, the hospital has an inpatient capacity of 347 beds, including 20 neonatal intensive care beds, 23 intensive care beds, 8 pediatric intensive care beds, 7 coronary care beds, and an 11-station renal dialysis unit. With over 144,000 emergency department visits annually, Lincoln has the busiest single site emergency department in New York City and the third busiest in the nation.

The Hub is a major commercial center for the South Bronx, New York. It is located where four roads converge: East 149th Street, and Willis, Melrose and Third Avenues. It is primarily located inside the neighborhood of Melrose but also lines the northern border of Mott Haven.The Hub, short for "the Hub of the Bronx," has also been called "the Broadway of the Bronx". It is the site of both maximum traffic and architectural density. In configuration, it resembles a miniature Times Square, a spatial "bow-tie" created by the geometry of the street intersections. It is a primary shopping district for Bronx residents, and many new hip hop trends can be found in the Hub long before they spread to the rest of New York City and the world. The area is part of Bronx Community Board 1.

The South Bronx is an area of the New York City borough of the Bronx. The area comprises neighborhoods in the southern part of the Bronx, such as Concourse, Mott Haven, Melrose, and Port Morris. In the early 1900s, the South Bronx was originally known as the Manor of Morrisania, as it was the manor of Lewis Morris. As the Morris family continued to expand on the land, an influx of German and Irish immigrants started to populate the area, leading the Bronx to be considered the "Jewish Borough" in the 1930s. This soon changed as World War II caused rent to increase in many apartments, pushing people out. By the end of the 1950s, the South Bronx was two-thirds African American or Hispanic (of any race).The South Bronx is known for its hip hop culture and graffiti. Graffiti became popular in the Bronx in the early 1970s, spreading through the New York City Subway system. The South Bronx then became musically notable as hip-hop music, rap, and other creative components started becoming common within the borough.

The Third Avenue–149th Street station is a station on the IRT White Plains Road Line of the New York City Subway. It is located at Third Avenue and East 149th Street (the latter of which is also known as Eugenio Maria de Hostos Boulevard) in the Hub in the South Bronx adjacent to Mott Haven and Melrose. The station is served by the 2 train at all times and the 5 train at all times except nights. The station is the second-busiest in the Bronx and 59th overall, with around 6.768 million passengers using the station as of 2019.

Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a Roman Catholic parish church under the authority of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located at 150th Street at Melrose Avenue, Bronx, New York City, in the Melrose neighborhood of the South Bronx. The parish was established in 1853. It is staffed by the Redemptorist Fathers. The church boasts the highest steeple in the Bronx.

The Opera House Hotel is a boutique hotel located in South Bronx of the Bronx, New York City. It was converted from the former Bronx Opera House, which was designed by George M. Keister and built in 1913. The hotel opened in August 2013 and is one of eight hotel properties owned and operated by the Empire Hotel Group. The hotel is the first of several boutique hotels which have opened or are being constructed in the Bronx.The New York City Legionnaires' disease outbreak were reported to had emerged following the discovery of the legionella bacteria at the hotel.

The Bronx Opera House is a former theater, part of the Subway Circuit, now converted into a boutique hotel in the Bronx, New York It was designed by George M. Keister and built in 1913 at 436 East 149th Street on the site of Frederick Schnaufer's stable. It was one of several theaters to come into the area that became known as the Hub. It was formally dedicated on opening night Saturday, August 30, 1913.Performers included the Marx Brothers, George Burns, Gracie Allen, Julia Marlowe, Ethel Barrymore and Lionel Barrymore, David Warfield. Other performers at the theatre included George M. Cohan, Eddie Cantor, John Bunny, Harry Houdini, Peggy Wood and Fats Waller. Post-Broadway shows were often performed and the theater hosted the Aborn Opera Company.The Bronx Opera House is often confused with the Percy G. Williams’ New Bronx Opera House built in 1909 and located at 567 Melrose Avenue (corner of 150th Street), later renamed the B.F. Keith’s Bronx Theatre, which was a different venue featuring vaudeville shows.

The 149th Street station was a station on the demolished IRT Third Avenue Line in the Bronx, New York City. It was located in "The Hub" in the South Bronx, at the intersection of 149th Street, Third Avenue, Willis Avenue, and Melrose Avenue. Opened as an express station in 1887 and later operating as the line's southern terminus, the station closed in 1973 and was demolished by 1977 due to political pressure in the area.

C. Rieger's Sons Factory, also known as Arden Manufacturing Corporation and Piser Company, is a historic factory building located in the Mott Haven section of The Bronx, New York, New York. It was built in 1906, and is a six-story building clad in yellow iron spot brick in the Romanesque Revival style. The facade and windows are trimmed in bluestone. It originally housed a furniture manufacturer. It was converted for use as affordable housing during 2002–2003.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

The Haffen Building is a New York City landmark constructed in 1901–1902 in the neighborhood of Mott Haven, Bronx, New York. The building is located at 2804 Third Avenue, also addressed as 507 Willis Avenue, in the middle of a triangular block between 148th Street, 147th Street, Third Avenue, and Willis Avenue, within the Hub business district. It was inspired by the economic growth and upper middle-class status that was prevalent in the area during the period. When constructed, the Third Avenue and Second Avenue elevated train lines stopped at 149th Street, a station in front of it.Matthias Haffen was a member of the prominent Haffen family, founders of the famous Haffen Brewing Company. As an active real estate developer, he wanted to erect a first-class office building for banking and professional tenants. He turned to then Bronx Commissioner of Buildings, architect Michael J. Garvin, who had been working with Mathias' brother, then Bronx Borough President Louis F. Haffen. Mathias sought Garvin's experience with the area. The two, with Garvin's design, created the Haffen Building, a seven story Beaux-Arts style office complex. For over a century, the Haffen Building housed several banks, law offices, and governmental agencies. Notable occupants have been the Knickerbocker Trust Company (with the next door Hub Center Building at 2810 Third Avenue also addressed as 509 Willis Avenue), the Dollar Savings Bank of New York City, the National Puerto Rican Day Parade, Inc.; and the law offices of Javier A. Solano. The building is currently regarded as a "distinct structure" which "is an outstanding and remarkably intact example of Beaux-Arts aesthetic.

Hertlein and Schlatter Silk Trimmings Factory is a historic factory building located in the Mott Haven section of The Bronx, New York, New York. The original building was built in 1887 and expanded in 1892 and 1910–1911. It is a five-story brick building, 14 bays long. A six-story extension was built in 1904–1905. It originally housed a silk trimming supplier. After 1935, it housed the Hygrade Casket Corporation until about 1982. The original building and extension remained vacant until restored during 1999-2000 for residential and commercial use.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Dollar Savings Bank of New York was a bank that operated in New York City between 1890 and 2004.
