St Nicholas Church, Brandiston

Guton was a settlement in the county of Norfolk in England mentioned in the Domesday Book as Guthetuna. It is described as being held by Osbert from Tihel le Breton. It had a mill and 14 beehives. It was considered a small town with 40 households (which at the time of the survey was a large settlement). Lestan, a freeman, was deprived of it on the Norman conquest. In the 13th century the family of Peche had an interest in this town, and Sir Andrew de Helion, of Bumpstead, in Essex, certified the venerable barons of the Exchequer, on the marriage of the King's sister, to the Emperour Germany, about 1234, that Symon Peche held 3 parts of a fee of him in Gukenton Norfolk.Guton was granted a charter from the Crown licensing the holding of a market in 1287, though by the 17th century the market was out of use.The site of the settlement is marked by Guton Hall in the modern civil parish of Brandiston. The village of Brandiston is not mentioned in the Domesday Book, but gradually eclipsed Guton; both settlements are mentioned with equal billing in The History of Norfolk, edited by John Chambers 1829, as follows: "Brandiston and Guton. Nine miles from Norwich. Church St. Nicholas. Was held by the families of Fastolf and Paston." However in White's more detailed History, Gazetteer and Directory of Norfolk published in 1845, the parish is still referred to as Brandiston and Guton but the main heading had become Brandiston.

Cawston was a railway station in Cawston, Norfolk. It was part of the Great Eastern Railway network for a large portion of its existence. It was on the line between County School and Aylsham. It closed in 1952, the station building is now a private residence It can be seen from the Marriott's Way footpath.

St Michael the Archangel's Church is a redundant Anglican church near the village of Booton, Norfolk, England. It is listed in the National Heritage List for England at Grade II* listed building, and is vested in the Churches Conservation Trust. The church stands about 1 mile (1.6 km) to the east of the village. It is often known as the "Cathedral of the Fields".

Swannington Upgate Common is a 20.5-hectare (51-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north-west of Norwich in Norfolk.This site has varied habitats including glacial sands and gravels, peat, dry and wet heath, woodland, grassland, ponds and a stream. There is a wide range of breeding birds.The site is open to the public.

Little Witchingham is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It covers an area of 3.01 km2 (1.16 sq mi) and had a population of 36 in 14 households at the 2001 census. For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of Broadland. St Faith's Church (right) is now redundant.

Alderford is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk, about ten miles (16 km) north-west of Norwich. The name 'Alderford' derives from the Old English meaning 'alder-tree ford'.The civil parish has an area of 1.80 square kilometres and in 2001 had a population of 43 in 16 households. At the 2011 Census the population remained less than 100 and is included in the civil parish of Swannington. For the purposes of local government, the parish falls within the area of the district of Broadland.[1]

Alderford Common is a 17.5-hectare (43-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north-west of Norwich in Norfolk.The common has a thin layer of glacial sands and gravels over chalk. Habitats include bracken heath, scrub, woodland and ponds, together with species rich grassland in former chalk quarries. An old lime kiln is used by bats and a wide variety of birds breed on the site.There is access to the site from Reepham Road, which passes through it.
