Balaclava Junction is the only extant grand union in Australia. Located at the intersection of Balaclava Road and Hawthorn Road, Caulfield North on the Melbourne tram network, trams can go in all directions from all directions.It is the only surviving example of a grand union in the southern hemisphere. Adelaide previously had three grand unions, but none exist today.Balaclava Junction dates from November 1913, originally being built by the Prahran & Malvern Tramways Trust, at the time it was the most complex junction on the network. It has been rebuilt a number of times since opening, most recently in 2005 by Yarra Trams.Tram routes 3/3a, 16, and 64 all travel through Balaclava Junction.

Malvern railway station is located on the Pakenham, Cranbourne and Frankston lines in Victoria, Australia. It serves the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Malvern, and opened on 7 May 1879.The station, like the suburb itself, was named after the Malvern Hill Estate. The housing lots within the estate were sold by barrister Charles Skinner in 1856, who named the estate after the Malvern Hills in Herefordshire, England.The station was rebuilt in 1914, as part of quadruplication and re-grading of the track between South Yarra and Caulfield. It is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register.The former electrified goods sidings were removed in 1988.In 1993, major re-signalling works occurred between Toorak, Armadale, Malvern and Caulfield stations.

Caulfield is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Glen Eira local government area. Caulfield recorded a population of 5,748 at the 2021 census.It is bounded by Kooyong Road in the west, Glen Eira Road in the north, Glen Huntly Road in the south and Booran Road in the east. Caulfield is best known as the location of Caulfield Racecourse and the Caulfield campus of Monash University.

House at Caulfield, is a family home situated at 450 Dandenong Road in Caulfield North, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, designed by Anatol Kagan in 1956 for Polish-Jewish emigre Leo Lind and his wife Dorothy. Born in Russian on October 4, 1913 Anatol Kagan's career as an architect spanned over seven decades until his death on July 2, 2009. He was actively involved in the field of design, as well as a writer, translator, lecturer and political activist. The house is an important work of its period demonstrating the Modernist architectural movement of Melbourne during the mid 20th Century, and in 2018 was added to the Victorian Heritage Register. Kagan was also influenced by the works of his local contemporaries, Roy Grounds, Frederick Romberg and Robin Boyd.

Malvern Presbyterian Church is located in Victoria, Australia. Opened in 1886, it was the first Presbyterian Church to be founded in the City of Malvern and is now within Stonnington, a metropolitan area of Melbourne. The church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Australia. A good example of Post-Federation, Australian Arts & Crafts architecture, it is in stylistic sympathy with the many Federation style houses in the area. The church became a hub of the district and the place of worship for many leading citizens of the area and reflected the self-confidence of Edwardian Melbourne. The Congregation produced three Moderators of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Victoria and continues to thrive as a diverse congregation in a busy inner-east suburb.

Southern Metropolitan Region is one of the eight electoral regions of Victoria, Australia, which elects five members to the Victorian Legislative Council (also referred to as the upper house) by proportional representation. The region was created in 2006 following the 2005 reform of the Victorian Legislative Council. The region comprises the Legislative Assembly districts of Albert Park, Ashwood, Bentleigh, Brighton, Caulfield, Hawthorn, Kew, Malvern, Oakleigh, Prahran and Sandringham. The region covers most of the wealthiest areas of Melbourne, only a few traditional Labor areas (Oakleigh being the only historically safe Labor seat), and one of the four Greens-held seats in the lower house (Prahran).

The electoral district of Caulfield is an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. The electorate is surrounded by the other electoral districts of Prahran, Albert Park, Malvern, Oakleigh, Bentleigh and Brighton. It covers the metropolitan suburbs of Caulfield, Caulfield North, Caulfield South, Caulfield East, Elsternwick, Gardenvale, Ripponlea and Balaclava and parts of St Kilda East, St Kilda, Glen Huntly and Ormond within South-East Melbourne. Approximately 45,222 people reside in the electorate which has been contested at each state election in Victoria since 1927. The longest serving member is Ted Tanner, who held the seat for a period of 17 years, between 1979 and 1996. The seat lies in the inner south-east metropolitan Melbourne and was once safe for the Liberal Party. However, a changing demographic and on-going electoral boundary changes have made the electorate increasingly marginal over the past decade. In the 2018 Victorian state election, the seat of Caulfield became the most marginal seat in Victoria with a 205-vote difference between the Labor Party and the Liberal party on a two party preferred basis. Recent redistributions have meant the current margin before the 2022 Victorian State Election is almost 0.001% towards the Liberal Party. The seat has been held by the Liberal Party for the majority of the time since its creation in 1927, the party has been held by the Electoral Reform Party and multiple independents. The Labor Party has never held the seat. David Southwick is the current member of parliament for Caulfield, who is also the Deputy Leader for the Victorian Liberal Party.
