P&LE McKeesport Bridge

The Youghiogheny River , or the Yough (pronounced Yok ) for short, is a 134-mile-long (216 km) tributary of the Monongahela River in the U.S. states of West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. It drains an area on the west side of the Allegheny Mountains northward into Pennsylvania, providing a small watershed in extreme western Maryland into the tributaries of the Mississippi River. Youghiogheny is a Lenape word meaning "a stream flowing in a contrary direction".

St. Mary's (German) Church was a Roman Catholic church in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, noteworthy for being the only church in the United States built in the early Christian Basilica model. During the 1980s, the church hosted a Broadway-inspired stage show in its parish hall featuring Rev. Tom Smith.

Through McKeesport, the trail features a designated right of way, while it is officially signed through city streets in Port Vue. As of 2005, the bridge officially became known as the Senator Albert V. “Bud” Belan Bridge after Governor Ed Rendell signed Senate Bill 406. The renaming was in honor of Sen. Belan’s efforts to restore the bridge.

The Carnegie Free Library in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, is a Public Library built with funds from Pittsburgh steel magnate Andrew Carnegie. McKeesport is located about 15 miles up the Monongahela River from Pittsburgh. The grant for this library was commissioned April 2, 1899. Out of approximately 1,688 libraries funded by Carnegie in America, McKeesport's was the 12th be commissioned. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
