Corrientes (Buenos Aires Underground)

Pueyrredón is a station on Line B of the Buenos Aires Underground. Passengers may transfer from here to the Corrientes Station on Line H. The station was opened on 17 October 1930 as part of the inaugural section of the line between Federico Lacroze and Callao.It is located in the Balvanera barrio, at the intersection of Avenida Corrientes and Avenida Pueyrredón, and named after the latter.

The 2012 Buenos Aires rail disaster, also known as the Once Tragedy, occurred on 22 February 2012, when a train crashed at Once Station (Spanish: Estación Once de Septiembre; IPA: [ˈonse]) in the Balvanera neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina. There were about 1,000 passengers on board when the crowded eight-carriage train, whose working brakes were not activated, hit the buffers at the end of the line, crushing the motor carriage and the following two carriages, after approaching the station at a speed of 26 km/h (16 mph). Fifty-one people were killed and more than 700 were injured; the dead and seriously injured were in the first two carriages, which were packed with people who had moved to the front of the train to be near the station exit on arrival. The Sarmiento Line, on which the incident occurred, was operated by Trenes de Buenos Aires (TBA), owned by the Cirigliano brothers. It was the second fatal accident on the line within six months, following the 2011 Flores rail crash, and the third-deadliest train accident in Argentina's history, after the Benavídez rail disaster in 1970 (which left 142 dead and 368 injured) and the Sa Pereira rail disaster in 1978 (which left 55 dead).

Once - 30 de Diciembre is a station on Line H of the Buenos Aires Underground and is located at the intersection of Pueyrredón and Rivadavia avenues in the neighbourhood of Balvanera. From here, passengers may transfer to the Plaza Miserere station on line A and, through it, transfer to the Once railway station, the central terminal of the Domingo Faustino Sarmiento Railway and Sarmiento Line.

The St. Joseph Observatory (OSJ) is an amateur astronomy observatory located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was founded in 1913. It was initially constructed on 1870 and for being the tallest building was declared ideal observatory of Balvanera neighborhood. It is the first astronomical observatory in Buenos Aires which still remains in activity. Currently performs research and recreational activities for the public as courses or seminars.

Córdoba Station is a station on Line H of the Buenos Aires Underground, opened in 2015. It is located in the junction of Córdoba and Pueyrredón Avenues, in the limit with Balvanera and Recoleta neighborhoods. It is near to the University of Buenos Aires faculties of Economics, Pharmacy and Medicine. The station was opened on 18 December 2015 as part of the extension of the line from Corrientes to Las Heras.It counts on an underground typology with two lateral platforms and two railways.

The Abasto Shopping is one of the biggest shopping mall centers in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The building was the central wholesale fruit and vegetable market in the city ("Mercado de Abasto") from 1893 to 1984. Since 1999, it has served as a shopping mall. It is also famous for being in the area where the tango singer Carlos Gardel, known as El Morocho del Abasto ("the dark-haired guy from Abasto"), lived for most of his life. Today, the surrounding area, though part of the Balvanera neighbourhood, is sometimes referred to as Abasto. The Abasto Shopping centre is served by the adjoining underground station Carlos Gardel of line B metro (subte).

The Buenos Aires train crash occurred on October 19, 2013 when a passenger train failed to stop at a terminal station in Buenos Aires, Argentina, injuring 105 people. As of October 2013, the causes of the accident was sleeping at the controls.

Pasteur - AMIA is a station on Line B of the Buenos Aires Underground. It was opened on 17 October 1930 as part of the inaugural section of the line between Federico Lacroze and Callao.It is located in the Balvanera barrio, at the intersection of Avenida Corrientes and Calle Pasteur, and named after the latter. In 2015, murals and monuments commemorating the 1994 AMIA bombing (which took place nearby) were set up in the station, while proposals were put forward to change the name of the station to Pasteur - AMIA. This was approved in July 2015, and the station was renamed.

Battle of Miserere was a battle occurred during the second British invasion of the Río de la Plata between the British troops at the command of John Whitelocke, and the Spanish forces commanded by Santiago de Liniers. The confrontation took place on July 2, 1807 in the current Miserere square, Balvanera neighborhood, city of Buenos Aires.

Once railway station (Spanish: Estación Once de Septiembre, lit. 'Eleventh of September Station', American Spanish: [ˈonse]; informally known as Estación Once) is a large railway terminus in central Buenos Aires, Argentina, in the barrio of Balvanera.The station, inaugurated on 20 December 1882, is located in the barrio of Balvanera, immediately north of Plaza Miserere, a large public square. The station is named after the 11 September 1852 rebellion of Buenos Aires against the federal government of Justo José de Urquiza. Contrary to popular belief, the station is not named after the death of the president Domingo Faustino Sarmiento on 11 September 1888.

Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina (AMIA; transl. "Argentine Israelite Mutual Association") is a Jewish Community Centre located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Established as Jevrá Kedushá in 1894, its mission was conceived to promote the well-being and development of Jewish life in Argentina and to secure the continuity and values of the Jewish community. The association established one of Buenos Aires' first Jewish cemeteries, and later founded the Tsedaká Foundation for charity. Serving the largest Jewish community in Latin America by the 1920s, AMIA inaugurated a new headquarters in Balvanera, a neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, in 1945; AMIA also became the headquarters of the Federation of Jewish Argentine Communities. It grew to provide and sponsor a variety of formal and informal educational, recreational, and cultural activities, as well as a healthcare cooperative. It became a centre for participation and involvement for people of all ages in Jewish life, and in the community at large. It has the biggest job vacancies of Argentina directed to both Jewish and non-Jewish people, with more than 500,000 applicants in its database.

Plaza de Miserere is one of the main plazas (squares) of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is located alongside the Once de Septiembre Station of the Ferrocarril Domingo Faustino Sarmiento (Sarmiento railroad) in the heart of the Balvanera neighborhood.
