Nyon Castle is a castle in the municipality of Nyon of the Canton of Vaud in Switzerland. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance.

Nyon railway station (French: Gare de Nyon) is a railway station in the municipality of Nyon, in the Swiss canton of Vaud. It is an intermediate stop on the standard gauge Lausanne–Geneva line of Swiss Federal Railways and the southern terminus of the 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) gauge Nyon–St-Cergue–Morez line of the Chemin de fer Nyon–St-Cergue–Morez.

Nyon (French pronunciation: [njɔ̃] ; historically German: Neuis or Neuss and Italian: Nione, [ˈnjoːne]) is a municipality in Nyon District in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland. It is located some 25 kilometers north east of Geneva's city centre, and since the 1970s it has become part of the Geneva metropolitan area. It lies on the shores of Lake Geneva and is the seat of Nyon District. The town has (as of December 2020) a population of 21,718 and is famous in the sporting world for being the headquarters of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and the European Club Association (ECA). It is connected to the rest of Switzerland by way of the Route Suisse, the A1 Motorway and the railways of the Arc Lémanique.

Les Plantaz railway station (French: Gare de Les Plantaz), is a railway station in the municipality of Nyon, in the Swiss canton of Vaud. It is an intermediate stop and a request stop on the 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) metre gauge Nyon–St-Cergue–Morez line of Chemin de fer Nyon–St-Cergue–Morez.

Centre Sportif de Colovray Nyon is where FC Stade Nyonnais play their home football and rugby games. The site is opposite the UEFA headquarters. The centre has six pitches for different things and hosts a variety of activities, football, rugby and athletics. The stadium has 860 seats and the rest is standing places.

Prangins Castle is a castle in the municipality of Prangins of the Canton of Vaud in Switzerland. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance.It is home to one part of the Swiss National Museum. There are other parts are in Zurich and Schwyz. At Prangins, the displays focus mainly on daily life in the castle and the region. There are also displays relating to Swiss history, as well as temporary exhibitions and cultural events. There is a café, serving drinks, snacks and lunch. The terrace has views of Lake Geneva and the Alps.

La Vuarpillière railway station (French: Gare de La Vuarpillière), is a railway station in the municipality of Nyon, in the Swiss canton of Vaud. It is an intermediate stop and a request stop on the 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) metre gauge Nyon–St-Cergue–Morez line of Chemin de fer Nyon–St-Cergue–Morez.

HBG was a low frequency time signal transmitter for the Swiss time reference system. It transmitted on 75 kHz with 20 kW power, and was located in Prangins, Switzerland. Due to the cost of urgently needed renovation for the ageing antennas, and the ease with which all existing users could switch to the DCF77 time signal, the Swiss Federal Government decided to shut down HBG at the end of 2011. HBG transmission ceased on New Year’s Day 2012 at 07:00:13.2 UTC.On 6 September 2012 at 12:02:00 UTC both antenna towers were demolished by controlled explosives.The HBG transmission format was very similar to DCF77. At the beginning of each second (with the exception of the 59th), the carrier signal was interrupted for a period of 0.1 s or 0.2 s, which corresponded to a binary "0" or "1". The transmission of the minute, hour, calendar date, day of the week, month and current year was achieved by means of a BCD code identical to that of DCF77. Like DCF77, the carrier was not interrupted during the last second of each minute. Differences from the DCF77 time code: The carrier frequency. Phase modulation was not included. Amplitude modulation was done by disabling the transmitter (0% amplitude) rather than reducing it to 15% amplitude as DCF77 does. Announcement bits warning of impending time zone changes or leap seconds were sent 12 hours in advance, rather than 1 hour. The first pulse of each minute was not a standard 0 bit as DCF77 sends. Instead, it was a double pulse, two 0.1 s interruptions separated by 0.1 s of carrier. A triple pulse signalled the start of a new hour, and a four-pulse signal was transmitted at noon and midnight.It is understood that this frequency is now available in Europe, as well as any other part of the world, for time signal dissemination.

The Caribana Festival in Crans-près-Céligny, Vaud, Switzerland started in 1990 as an opportunity for people in Switzerland to enjoy live music at the shores of Lake Léman. The event has grown over the years and changed from a free, small, local festival to an international event with 19,500 visitors in 2005. Caribana lasts for four days (Thursday to Sunday) and offers a variety of artists. It is not, as its name suggests, an event devoted to Caribbean music.

The La Côte Airfield (ICAO code LSGP) is a private airfield in Prangins, Switzerland. It hosted a fly-in in 2009, 2011, 2013, on August 15, 2015 and in 2019.
