Charlton is a town in Saratoga County, New York, United States. The population was 3,954 at the 2000 census. The town is named after a notable physician.The Town of Charlton is located in the southwestern part of the county and is north of Schenectady. The town is home to the Charlton Historic District, which is home to many historic buildings.

West Charlton United Presbyterian Church, also known as "Scotch Church," is a historic Presbyterian church at 1331 Sacandaga Road in West Charlton, Saratoga County, New York. It was built about 1880 and is a rectangular, wood-frame building in the Late Victorian style. It features engaged corner towers and a polygonal chapel added in 1904. The north tower supports a louvered belfry topped by a tall spire. The church was founded by immigrants from Scotland.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

The Empire State Aerosciences Museum (commonly referred to as ESAM) is a non-profit museum which strives to "educate, entertain and excite with experiences in air and space". Established in 1984 and chartered by the New York State Department of Education, the museum is located on 27 acres (110,000 m2) of land on the western perimeter of the Schenectady County Airport in Glenville, New York, United States.ESAM sponsors an annual air show at the Schenectady Airport.

Ballston is a town in Saratoga County, New York, United States. The population was 11,831 at the 2020 census. The name is derived from an early settler, Eliphalet Ball, a Presbyterian minister who relocated there from Westchester County, New York in 1770. The town is in the southern part of the county, and is north of Schenectady.

The Mabee House, on the grounds of the Mabee Farm Historic Site, (part of the Schenectady County Historical Society), is the oldest house still standing in the Mohawk Valley. It is located in the town of Rotterdam, New York, in the hamlet of Rotterdam Junction, New York, along New York State Highway 5S, about six miles (9.7 km) west of the city of Schenectady. The property includes the original 1705 stone Mabee House, a 1760s brick house, a 1790s inn, a family cemetery and more, sits alongside the banks of the Mohawk River and was donated to the Schenectady County Historical Society on January 29, 1993. An H-bent frame Dutch barn, dating from the 1760s, was acquired from the Nilsen family in 1997, moved from Johnstown, N.Y., restored, and re-installed at the Mabee Farm Historic Site. Various educational programs and events are now offered to the public there. In 2007, 27 acres were purchased from a neighboring property and are now the location of the George E. Franchere Education Center, which opened in 2011.

Swart House and Tavern is a historic home and tavern located at Glenville in Schenectady County, New York. It consists of a long, 2-story, rectangular gable-roofed structure with a 1+1⁄2-story rear wing. The rear wing was built about 1750 and the building was substantially enlarged about 1792 in the Federal style. Also on the property is a stone masonry smokehouse.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.Born in the Schoharie Valley in 1718, Adam Swart did not move to Schenectady until his marriage to Catherine Van Patten in 1742. Their son Nicholas built the Swart Tavern in the late 18th century, a building which is still standing, but no longer in use as a tavern. A circa 1840 painting of the Swart Tavern is also on display.
