Schenectady County Airport (IATA: SCH, ICAO: KSCH, FAA LID: SCH) is a county-owned, public-use airport located three nautical miles (6 km) north of the central business district of Schenectady, a city in Schenectady County, New York, United States. It is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a reliever airport.Founded in 1927, the airport is home to Richmor Aviation, Fortune Air, the 109th Airlift Wing (109 AW) of the New York Air National Guard, the Empire State Aerosciences Museum, and several private aircraft.

Seeley Farmhouse, also known as Little Richard's Tavern, is a historic home located at Glenville in Schenectady County, New York. The L-shaped building consists of two main blocks. The front block took its present form about 1850 and is in an atypical Greek Revival style. It consists of a 2-story central pedimented pavilion with flanking 1+1⁄2-story wings.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Alplaus is a hamlet located in Schenectady County, New York, United States. Its name is derived from the Dutch Aal Plaats, or "Place of the Eels." Alplaus is in the southeast corner of the town of Glenville. Some consider it part of the hamlet of East Glenville; however, it is generally recognized as a separate community. Alplaus is, however, part of the East Glenville census-designated place. Census data for the ZIP Code Tabulation Area (ZCTA) associated with Alplaus for the 2000 census had a total population of 431 people in 175 households.Alplaus has a Residents Association (ARA) which helps coordinate activities within the hamlet and manage relationships with town, county, and state government.

Franklin School is a historic school located at Schenectady in Schenectady County, New York. It was built in 1907 and is a two-story, red brick "H" shaped institutional building in the Georgian Revival style. It is trimmed with yellow brick and stone. There are massive yellow brick pilasters at the corner of the pavilions and recessed rectangular panels. It operated as a school by the Schenectady City School District until 1974.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.The building is identical to the former Horace Mann School, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

Nott Street School is a historic school building located at Schenectady, Schenectady County, New York. It was originally built in 1877 as a four-room school, with an eight classroom addition completed in 1909. It is a two-story, red brick building above a stone and concrete raised basement. The exterior has been painted since at least 1952. The building was used as a school until 1942, and has since been used for offices.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

WRUC (89.7 MHz) is an independent educational college radio station, owned and operated by Union College in Schenectady, New York. The station transmits with an effective radiated power of 100 watts, providing coverage over an approximate 15-mile (25 kilometer) radius. WRUC also streams its programming on Internet radio. The station's offices and studios are located in the Reamer Campus Center on the Union College campus. WRUC's slogan is "The First Station In The Nation". The station traces its history back to October 14, 1920, the date an amateur station located at Union College first began making regular broadcasts. However, WRUC's priority claim is not widely accepted. There are continuity issues, because, after the demise of Union's broadcasting station, WRL, in 1924, the college did not resume any broadcasting activities until 1941. In addition, there are several stations that claim even longer histories.
