St Winifred's Church is a Church of England church in Branscombe in Devon, England. The church is dedicated to Saint Winifred, a Welsh saint. It is among the oldest and most architecturally significant parish churches of Devon. It probably dates back as far as about 995, but extant records on the vicars only go back to the thirteenth century. There is some archaeological evidence to suggest that an earlier Saxon church may have occupied the site. The building has a traditional west―east alignment. It is built on a levelled area that can not be seen from the coast. The choice of location may have been for protection of the original Saxon church from Viking raiders. Alternatively, the church may have been placed on an earlier pre-Christian holy site. Occupying such a pagan site would have allowed the Church to both challenge paganism and benefit from any positive religious feelings associated with the site.

Branscombe is a village in the East Devon district of the English County of Devon. The parish covers 3,440 acres (1,390 ha). Its permanent population in 2009 was estimated at 513 by the Family Health Services Authority, reducing to 507 at the 2011 Census. It is located within the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, overlooking Lyme Bay. Branscombe has one of the South West's most scenic bus routes. AVMT Buses run service 899 from Seaton to Sidmouth via Beer and Branscombe.

Berry Camp or Berry Cliff, is an Iron Age Hill fort on a partially eroded cliff top close to Branscombe in Devon. The cliff is situated some 140 metres (460 ft) above sea level.Berry Camp is a rectangular promontory hillfort located on a plateau, close to the cliff edge at Langham Field on Littlecombe Hill at Berry Cliff, Branscombe, Devon. It is part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, which is also a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The hillfort dates to the Iron Age and has an adjoining prehistoric field system. It is an univallate hillfort, or defended enclosure and is now permanent pasture, but patches of gorse, bramble and thorn scrub obscure the defenses in several places. Three sides of the defensive bank and ditch are visible today but the ditches have been used as a dumping ground and are partly filled in. It is thought that a fourth side of the fort, has been lost to coastal erosion. The defenses are unimpressive, but are severely damaged. They were constructed by piling soil and flint extracted from the ditch. The interior of the fort is almost perfectly flat from ploughing in the past, leading to erosion of the inner rampart faces. In its original form, with a palisade or structured rampart and deeper ditch, it would have provided an effective enough obstacle.

The Old Bakery, Manor Mill & Forge is a collection of buildings in Branscombe, Seaton, Devon, England. The property has been in the ownership of the National Trust since 1965. The property consists of three buildings: a bakery, a watermill and a forge. The Old Bakery is a stone-built and partially rendered thatched building. It was the last traditional working bakery in the county when it closed its doors in 1987. The old baking equipment has been preserved in the baking room and the rest of the building now serves as a tea room. The water-powered Manor Mill probably supplied the flour for the bakery. The mill has recently been restored and is now in full working order. The Forge is the only thatched forge surviving in England. The blacksmith sells the ironwork he produces.

Weston is a small hamlet near Sidmouth in East Devon, England. It is near the Donkey Sanctuary and less than a mile from the beach at Branscombe; footpaths also give access to the beach at Weston Mouth.

Blackbury Camp, also known as Blackbury Castle, is an Iron Age hill fort in Devon, England. It is managed by English Heritage.

Weston Mouth is an isolated beach on the East Devon coast between Sidmouth and Seaton in England. It can be reached only by footpath, either along the South West Coast Path or from the village of Weston. The beach is mostly shingle with some sand at low tide, and has no facilities. Parts of the beach have a long tradition of use as a nudist beach. This is well known locally and has continued without significant problem for many years. It is 1 of 19 nude beaches in the United Kingdom, and one of three in Devon.

The Donkey Sanctuary is a British charitable organisation devoted to the welfare of donkeys. The charity, which is based near Sidmouth in Devon, England, was founded in 1969. It is one of the largest equine charities in the world with an annual income and expenditure of £37 million.

Wiscombe Park Hillclimb is a British hillclimb, situated in Colyton, Devon. The course, which is 1000 yards (914 metres) in length — the same as Shelsley Walsh — was opened in 1958. The course was extended in 1961 when the record was held by Addicott in a Lotus at 49.3 secs. Wiscombe has been hosting rounds of the British Hill Climb Championship since the May meeting in 1962.The outright hill record currently stands at 32.94 seconds, set by Alex Summers in July 2022.

Wiscombe Park is a 19th-century Gothic country house in Southleigh, Devon, UK which stands in parkland some 3 miles west of Colyton. The house is a grade II* listed building. The parkland now hosts the 1000 yard (914 metre) Wiscombe Park Hillclimb course. Wiscombe belonged in medieval times to Otterton Priory and was granted in the reign of Henry III to Sir William Bonville, in whose time the Park was stocked with deer. It then passed to the Marquis of Dorset, later the Duke of Suffolk, after whose attainder it passed first to the Petre family and then to the Hows, from whom it was bought c.1815 by Charles Gordon of the Gordon family (The Earls of Aberdeen).The present house was built in 1826 by Joseph Power of Colyton for Gordon on the site of the old manor house. It is a two-storey double depth building of plastered stone rubble with slate roofs. A large single storey billiard room projects at right angles to rear of the left end.The property was purchased by Richard and Bunny Chichester in 1953 who decided that the park would be ideal for a hill climb course. The first hill climb meeting was staged on 24 August 1958.

Beer Quarry Caves is a man-made limestone underground complex located about a mile west of the village of Beer, Devon, and the main source in England for beer stone. The tunnels resulted from 2,000 years of quarrying beer stone, which was particularly favoured for cathedral and church features such as door and window surrounds because of its colour and workability for carving. Stone from the quarry was used in the construction of several of southern England's ancient cathedrals and a number of other important buildings as well as for many town and village churches, and for some buildings in the United States. Extraction was particularly intense during the Middle Ages, but continued until the 1920s. An adit to another set of workings can be seen from the South West Coast Path east of Branscombe, having been exposed by a landslip in the late 18th century. The quarry is part of the Jurassic Coast, and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

Southleigh is a village and civil parish in the East Devon district of Devon, England. Its nearest town is Colyton, which lies approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) east from the village. Southleigh parish encompasses Wiscombe Park with its hill climb course. The parish church is dedicated to St. Lawrence.The parish is home to an Iron Age hill fort, Blackbury Castle (also known as Blackbury Camp). It was built during the 4th century BC. It was used by an Iron Age tribal people, probably for several hundred years. Blackbury Camp had impressive ramparts, and the single entrance was protected by a large triangular earthwork or barbican. Now surrounded by woodland, the hill fort is a popular spot for picnics.
