Okonomi-mura (お好み村, literally "Okonomiyaki Village") is a Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki food theme park located at 5-13 Shintenchi in Naka-ku, Hiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. It is near the east end of Hondōri and has over 25 okonomiyaki restaurants, each with a slightly different style and set of ingredients. The restaurants there use a specialty okonomiyaki sauce created especially for Okonomi-mura by Sun Foods. The Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported that Okonomi-mura was the top food theme park destination for families in Japan according to an April 2004 poll.

Fukuromachi Elementary School Peace Museum

The Fukuromachi Elementary School Peace Museum (袋町小学校平和資料館 Fukuromachi Shogakkou Heiwa Shiryokan) is a peace museum in Fukuromachi, Naka-ku, Hiroshima, Japan. The school was one of the closest schools to ground zero when the atomic bomb fell on August 6, 1945. They lost about 160 students and teachers and the building was heavily damaged. After a few days, the school became a first aid station, and its black burned wall became a message board to find missing people. The Peace Museum is the section of the school building with the basement of the former Municipal Fukuromachi Elementary School in Hiroshima. The school is keeping it as a relic of the atomic explosion, to foster peace, and to send their information to the world.

Hondōri

Hondōri (本通) is a commercial area in Naka-ku, Hiroshima, Japan, which centers on the Hondōri street which today is a shopping arcade. Hondōri, which means "Main Street", runs from Hatchōbori to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. Hondōri was also previously called Hirataya-chō. Hondōri prospered in the early 20th century, and in 1931, lily-of-the-valley lanterns were installed which allowed shops to stay open late.
