Vyttila Mobility Hub

Vyttila is a station of Kochi Water Metro. The station is located adjacent to Vyttila metro station and Vyttila mobility hub. It was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on 25 April 2023 and opened for public on 27 April as a part of the first phase of the water metro system.

Kundannoor is a region in the city of Kochi, in the state of Kerala, India. It is located around 3.5 km from Vytilla Junction and around 7 km from Ernakulam Junction Railway Station. Kundanoor is located on the busiest road of the city and state, the Kochi Bypass, at the junction of three National Highways, namely NH 66, NH 85 and NH 966B. NH 966B is the second shortest National highway in India.The junction now has a six-lane flyover due to the high traffic it handles. Since the current Kochi Bypass carries over twice the traffic it is designed to handle, the National Highways Authority of India had come up with a proposal for a new bypass for Kochi city a few years ago. As per the selected alignment, the Kochi New Bypass will begin from NH 544 at Karayamparambu, north of Kochi's suburb Angamaly, and end at NH 66 at Nettoor region of Maradu. In addition to this new greenfield National Highway project, the existing NH 85 (Kochi-Dhanushkodi) starting from Kundannoor junction will be widened to a four-lane one under Bharatmala. As per the plans the new widened NH will avoid the current NH 85 until Puthenkurishu, starting around 1 kilometre south of the existing Kundanoor Junction.The Le Meridien and Crowne Plaza hotels are near Kundanoor junction. Many shopping malls are proposed and some including Prestige Group's Kochi Forum Thomson Mall are under construction in Kundanoor. Kundanoor is also unofficially known as the automobile hub of Kochi, since it houses the most vehicle showrooms in the city and the state, including Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen, Suzuki Nexa, Honda BigWing Topline, Jeep, Harley Davidson, etc.

Vyttila, IPA: [ʋɐjt̺ːilɐ], is an intersection as well as the name of a region in the city of Kochi, in the state of Kerala, India. It is the busiest as well as one of the largest intersections in Kerala. This node intersects the main north–south artery of the state of Kerala, namely, the Kochi Bypass, with three city roads of Kochi viz, the S. A. Road (One of the city's most prominent arterial road in the east–west direction), the Vyttila-Petta Road, and the Thammanam Road. The name Vyttila is said to be evolved from the word "Vayal Thala" meaning the main part of the paddy field. Once the area including Elamkulam, were paddy fields and paddy cultivation were the main sources of income. The paddy field existed from Ernakulam, Girinagar, Panampilly Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Jawahar Nagar, Kumarananshan Nagar and extended to Kaniyampuzha and Panamkutyy bridge. Some also say that because there existed a bunch of dacoits, who murdered and looted the travelers the name evolved from 'Vazhithala'. Once the Puthenpalam bridge that connected Chilavennoor Lake and Chettichira was the only link from Vayalthala with Ernakulam. Vyttila hosts the Vyttilla Mobility Hub, which converges different ways of surface transport (namely, local as well as long-distance buses, rail, Metro Rail and inland water transport) to the city onto a single node.Vyttila is also the name of the region in the city of Kochi, of which the Vyttila Intersection is a part. Until 1967, Vyttila was a panchayat. The November 1967 order of the Kerala Legislative Assembly amalgamated Vyttila to the newly formed Kochi Corporation.

Thuthiyoor is a region near Kakkanad in the city of Kochi in Kerala, India. Thuthiyoor shares its boundaries with Chittethukara, Eroor, Kakkanad and Palachuvadu. The rear wall of Cochin Special Economic Zone forms the north-eastern boundary. It has a history of about 100 years, mainly associated with the local mosque Palachuvadu Juma Masjid and Sreekrishnaswamy Temple (only one Sreekrishna temple in Thrikkakara Panchayathu). There are other six temples in this village. Two Christian churches, three schools and two convents are situated in this village. Most of the people are god fearing and harmonious. St. Charles school, St. Mary's school and Bhavans Adarsha Vidyalaya are the main schools in this area. The Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo established the St. Charles Convent at Thuthiyoor in 1993. This convent's work included the establishment of an English Medium school, which opened in 1996.The infamous 300 feet deep "Paaramada" is a must watch. There is a tradition of young Malayali boys (also called 'Freakens' or 'Frrreakenz') who play a peculiar style of cricket every evening, barring the days when it rains during game time (between 4 and 6.30 pm).

Regional Sports Centre, also known as Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium is a multipurpose sports centre in Kochi, Kerala, India. The stadium is situated in 4 acres (16,000 m2) of land, the centre has the facilities for badminton, tennis, basketball, table tennis, swimming, billiards and indoor cricket nets.This Indoor stadium has a capacity of 10,000 persons and is named after former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.Indoor Tennis Complex has four synthetic tennis courts with modern technology. Indoor Tennis Complex was inaugurated in 2000 by Padma Bhushan Ramanathan Krishnan. Table Tennis Hall has four tables with a latest Butterfly Robot with a capacity to hold 400 balls at a time. The stadium has a swimming pool with 25*10 meters.

The Major Archeparchy of Ernakulam–Angamaly is the major archeparchy and the See of the Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Major Archiepiscopal Church (sui iuris). Mar Cardinal George Alencherry is the present Major Archbishop, and until July 2022 Archbishop Mar Antony Kariyil CMI was the Vicar of Major Archbishop, responsible for the administration of the major archeparchy. Currently Mar Andrews Thazath, Archbishop of Thrissur Archeparchy, was appointed by the Holy Father Pope Francis as the apostolic administrator of the same, replacing Mar Antony Kariyil. The Syro-Malabar Catholic Church was elevated to the status of a major archiepiscopal church in 1992 with Ernakulam-Angamaly as the primatal see. Kothamangalam and Idukki are the two suffragan eparchies of the major archeparchy. The major archbishop of Ernakulam-Angamaly is the main bishop of the jurisdiction, at the same time the head of the Syro-Malabar Church. The major archeparchy of Ernakulam-Angamaly occupies a prominent position in the history of the Syro-Malabar church. The Syriac Catholics ("Syro-Malabar") were under the jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of Verapoly (formerly known as Malabar vicariate) and European bishops since the 1600s. Pope Leo XIII separated the Syro-Malabars from Latin jurisdiction. The vicariates of Ernakulam, Thrissur and Changanassery were carved out for Syro-Malabar Catholics by the late 19th century. Ernakulam–Angamaly was established as a Vicariate by the Bull Quae Rei Sacrae of Pope Leo XIII on 28 July 1896 and Mar Louis Pazheparambil was appointed as the first figure apostolic, who assumed charge on 5 November 1896. Under the able guidance of Mar Pazheparambil, the vicariate began to flourish. The city of Ernakulam was chosen to be the location for the Bishop's house which was completed and blessed on 24 April 1900.
