Weeley Heath is a hamlet on the B1441 road and the B1414 road, in the Tendring district, in the English county of Essex. Nearby settlements include the villages of Weeley and Little Clacton. In 2018 it had an estimated population of 719.

Weeleyhall Wood is a 31 hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north of Clacton-on-Sea in Essex. It is managed by the Essex Wildlife Trust.It has a variety of woodland types, reflecting diverse soils. It is mainly pedunculate oak over a layer of coppice hazel and sweet chestnut planted in the nineteenth century. It has the largest Essex population of climbing corydalis, and four species of fern. There are two ponds and species-rich damp, grassy rides.There is access by a track from the B1441 road.

Weeley is a village and civil parish in Tendring, east Essex, England. The population of the parish at the 2011 Census was 1,768. It is served by Weeley railway station on the Sunshine Coast Line. It has bus links to Clacton-on-Sea and Colchester. The name came from the Old English "Wēo-lēah" meaning "willow wood / clearing". Weeley is first mentioned in a document from c.1050 when Eadgyva granted Wilgelia alias Wigleya in penance to St Paul's, London. In 1086, Eudo held Wileia. In c.1100, William 11 confirmed Eudo's holding of the manor.The parish church is St Andrew's, Weeley, which shares a priest with neighbouring Little Clacton. There is a Church of England voluntary aided primary school, also dedicated to St Andrew, which traces its foundation to the early date of 1797.Weeley has two claims to fame in military history. During the Napoleonic Wars, between 1803 and 1815, it had a large barracks accommodating up to 3,000 men, initially from three Scottish Highland battalions. In the 2nd World War it was the base of a small secret squad, or "Auxiliary Unit", led by local squire Roger Weeley, and prominently featured in the first book published on the subject, by David Lampe, in 1966. (Eastern Command and many other army records in WO series at National Archives, Kew; J P Foynes "East Anglia versus the Tricolor 1793-1815; David Lampe "Secret Army" 1966). Weeley has two small local parks, and was host to the Weeley Festival in August 1971. Other local facilities include a village hall, a McDonald's, famously attended by Chelsea manager José Mourinho and a Premier Inn. Weeley has a personal weather station in the village, which provides 24/7 live weather conditions and weather forecasts for the area.

St Osyth Heath is a hamlet in the Tendring district, in the county of Essex, England. Until the mid-1900s, The Heath was a thriving community with shops, various self-employed tradesman and The Beehive Public House. Today all this has disappeared, with the pub now converted into an Indian Restaurant. The Bareham family were the local butchers, whilst the Beales were hurdle and broom makers. The Methodist Chapel at St Osyth Heath, was erected in 1898 by the Beales family at cost of £155, a wooden building and affords sittings for 60 persons. Both families like the rest of the community eventually moved into the main village of St Osyth.

Weeley railway station is on the Sunshine Coast Line, a branch of the Great Eastern Main Line, in the East of England, serving the village of Weeley, Essex. It is 62 miles 78 chains (101.3 km) down the line from London Liverpool Street and is situated between Great Bentley to the west and Thorpe-le-Soken to the east. Its three-letter station code is WEE. The station was opened by the Tendring Hundred Railway, a subsidiary of the Great Eastern Railway, in 1866. It is currently managed by Greater Anglia, which also operates all trains serving the station.

Little Clacton is a village and civil parish in the Tendring district, in the county of Essex, England. It is located on the Tendring Peninsula, close to Clacton-on-Sea. The population of the parish at the 2011 census was 2,822.The village is approximately 12 miles south-east of Colchester and 2.5 miles north of Clacton-on-Sea, and is also close to Thorpe-le-Soken, where the is a railway station provides direct links to London Liverpool Street and Clacton-on-Sea. The parish church is an early twelfth century Norman church building dedicated to St James. It has three bells in its tower, including one cast by Robert Crouch and dating from 1437.

Clacton is a constituency in Essex represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2017 by Giles Watling of the Conservative Party.

Riddles Wood is a 37.3-hectare (92-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest between Brightlingsea and Clacton-on-Sea in Essex.The site has varied ancient pedunculate oak and hazel in some areas and oak and hornbeam in others, as well as chestnut coppice. The soils are glacial gravels in the west and London clay in the east. The ground flora rich and varied, although dominated by bramble, and there are also rides and a small pond. A rare flower on the site is orpine.The site is private land.

Tendring is a village and civil parish in Essex. It gives its name to the Tendring District and before that the Tendring Hundred. Its name was given to the larger groupings because it was at the centre, not because it was larger than the other settlements. In 2011 the parish had a population of 736 and the district had a population of 138,048. The linear village straddles the B1035 from Manningtree to Thorpe-le-Soken.The parish includes the settlements of Goose Green, Tendring Green and Tendring Heath. The church is dedicated to St Edmund. The Tendring Union Workhouse was located at Tendring Heath. In 1948 the workhouse was converted into an NHS geriatric hospital, which closed in the 1980s.

Clacton County High School is a co-educational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in Clacton-on-Sea, in the county of Essex, England. There are over 1,700 students attending the school. It specialises in the arts and is situated next to Clacton Leisure Centre, east of the railway station. The sixth form is working in partnership with other local schools to provide post-16 years education in the Clacton area.

Clacton Coastal Academy is a coeducational high school serving the western part of Clacton-on-Sea. The school has a population of about 1377 students with a maximum limit of 1550 students. Formerly known as "Colbayns", the site was officially renamed on 1 September 2009, after merging with the now defunct Bishops Park College. It has been part of Academies Enterprise Trust since September 2009.
