El Dorado International Airport

Air Command for Military Transportation (English for Comando Aéreo de Transporte Militar, CATAM) is major military airfield for the use of the Colombian Air Force. Is located in the outskirts of Bogotá within the vicinity of El Dorado International Airport.

Jaboque (Spanish: Humedal de Jaboque) is a wetland, part of the Wetlands of Bogotá, located in the locality Engativá, Bogotá, Colombia. The wetland, close to the Bogotá River on the Bogotá savanna covers an area of 148 hectares (370 acres). The wetland is close to El Dorado International Airport in the Juan Amarillo River basin.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Fontibón (Latin: Fontibonensis) is a diocese located in the city of Fontibón in the Ecclesiastical province of Bogotá in Colombia.

Fontibon is the 9th locality of Bogotá. It is located in the west of the city. This district is mostly inhabited by low and middle class residents.

La Florida is a wetland and park known as the Parque Metropolitano La Florida. La Florida is located across the Bogotá River from Jaboque wetland in the municipality Funza, Cundinamarca, close to Cota. La Florida does not belong to the protected wetlands of Bogotá.

The St. James the Apostle Cathedral (Spanish: Catedral de Santiago Apóstol) Also Fontibón Cathedral Officially the Parish Cathedral of St. James the Apostle of Fontibón, is a cathedral church of Catholic worship consecrated under the patronage of the St. James the Apostle in Fontibón, in the South American country of Colombia. It is the Cathedral Church of the Diocese of Fontibón and, therefore, seat of the titular Bishop. It is a Spanish Colonial style building located in the eastern corner of the main park of the town of Fontibón of Bogotá, in the 18th street with 99 street. The cathedral occupies the whole block together with the Casa Cural, the Episcopal Curia and the Parish School. The building is the highest structure in the area. Was rebuilt between 1621 and 1632, being restored between 1945 and 1955.

Capellanía (Spanish: Humedal de Capellanía) is a wetland situated in the locality of Fontibón as one of the Wetlands of Bogotá, Colombia. It forms part of the Fucha River basin on the Bogotá savanna. Since 1995, it has been split into two due to the construction of the Avenida La Esperanza. This has caused rapid deterioration and the wetland is likely to disappear because of the industries that surround it, the current transportation projects of the area, and future developments approved by the district. The wetland covers 27 hectares (67 acres).

Meandro del Say is a wetland, part of the wetlands of Bogotá. It spans the locality Fontibón of Bogotá and the eastern part of Mosquera, Cundinamarca. Meandro del Say is located close to the Bogotá River with a total area of 13.6 hectares (34 acres). The Avenida Centenario borders the wetland in the northeast. Meandro de Say is situated in the Fucha River basin.

On 7 June 2025, Miguel Uribe Turbay, a senator and pre-candidate in the 2026 Colombian presidential election, was killed during a rally at El Golfito Park in the neighbourhood of Modelia, part of the locality of Fontibón, in Bogotá, Colombia. He was hospitalised in critical condition and died two months later, on 11 August 2025.

Tibabuyes (Spanish: Humedal de Tibabuyes) or Juan Amarillo Wetland is a wetland, part of the Wetlands of Bogotá, located in the localities Suba and Engativá, Bogotá, Colombia. The wetland, in the Juan Amarillo River basin on the Bogotá savanna is the largest of the wetlands of Bogotá and covers an area of 222 hectares (550 acres).With the planned construction of Avenida Longitudinal de Occidente/Cundinamarca Highway, there will have to be built an overpass, which will affect the wetlands. The indigenous community and the inhabitants of the neighbourhoods surrounding the place are opposed to it.

Engativá is the 10th locality of Bogotá. It is located in the west of the city. This district is mostly inhabited by lower middle and working class residents.
