Viranialur (aloor) railway station (Station code: VRLR) is a train station located on the Thiruvananthapuram–Kanyakumari railway route. The station has one platform and falls on the Kanyakumari–Thiruvananthapuram line in the Thiruvananthapuram division of the Southern Railway zone. All passenger trains passing through the station halt at the station.

St. Xavier's Catholic College of Engineering is an Autonomous institution which is owned, administered and run by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kuzhithurai. Rev. Fr. S. Godwin Selva Justus is the current Correspondent of the college. It was established in 1998 by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kottar. It is located 5 km west of main town Nagercoil. The college is recognized under 2f&12B of the UGC act, 1956. This is the first College in Kanyakumari District to get accredited by NAAC with 'A' Grade and all UG Programmes (except B.Tech.(AI&DS)) accredited by NBA. The college has seven Research centers which are consisting of Thirty Six research supervisors of Anna University, Chennai, among the total of Sixty Four doctoral degree holders of various disciplines from this institution. This college became an Autonomous Institution on its Silver Jubilee year( ie, 25th year) in 2022.

Parvathipuram is a municipality located amid the town of Nagercoil along the Southern coast of India in Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu. It is located on NH 66 about five KM from Nagercoil central and 60 km from Thiruvananthapuram. It is called the gateway of Nagercoil. and it belongs to Aloor Panchayat. Parvathipuram is named after the Queen of South Travancore, Smt. Parvathibai Thamburatti, who was instrumental in giving away a vast area of cultivable land to people of Gramam populated mainly by Brahmins, for the hospitality they have shown to the Queen and her royal family while they were returning from Suchindram temple. Singarathoppu, Laksminager, VGS nager, Saradhanager, Rajivgandhinager, Annanager, are lately formed residential areas of Parvathipuram and they formed the heart of Parvathipuram. Peruvilai, Kanyakulam, Alamparai, Christopher Nagar, Rajalakshmi nagar, Elanthayadi, Kaliancaud are nearby localities. Among these Peruvilai is a large adjacent part of Parvathipuram. All the buses to Trivandrum and most of the western region of Kanyakumari district traveling through NH 66 stop at Parvathipuram. 31A Parvathipuram to Parvathipuram circular bus connects Parvathipuram with Christopher bus stand and Anna bus stand.
