Villefranche-sur-Saône

The Canton of Villefranche-sur-Saône is a French administrative division, located in the Rhône department. The canton was established in 1790 and modified by decree of 28 February 2000 which came into force in March 2001.

The arrondissement of Villefranche-sur-Saône is an arrondissement of France in the Rhône department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. It has 132 communes. Its population is 250,492 (2016), and its area is 1,714.6 km2 (662.0 sq mi).

Notre Dame de Mongré High School is a private Roman Catholic school in Villefranche-sur-Saône, Rhône, France. Located in the Archdiocese of Lyon, the school was founded by Mademoiselle de La Barmondière in 1848 as a Jesuit school. Mongré currently enrolls just over 2,000 students from elementary school to high school and is proud to achieve high grades and results for the baccalaureat (most of years, 100% of the students pass). A large majority of each graduating class goes on to attend a university or college.

The Château de Vaurenard is a château in Gleizé, Rhône, France. The land was acquired by 1672, and it is owned by a descendant of the same family. The château was built in the 17th and 18th centuries. It has been listed as an official historical monument since November 12, 2007. The château produces wine from vines grown on 25 hectares surrounding the property.

Its source is in the Beaujolais hills, near Chénelette. The Azergues flows through the following towns: Lamure-sur-Azergues, Le Bois-d'Oingt, Chessy, Châtillon, Chazay-d'Azergues and Anse.
