Paso del Rey is a city located 35.5 km west of Buenos Aires, in Moreno, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. Paso del Rey (King's Ford) takes its name from the estancia (ranch) owned by Senator Amancio Jacinto Alcorta: Estancia Paso del Rey. The surrounding area was well-known since colonial times because there was a ford which provided a useful crossing place to get the west bank of the Reconquista River. In fact, Charles Darwin could have crossed the ford in his journey from Buenos Aires to Luján on 27 September 1833 (the only alternative crossing was a wooden bridge known as Puente de Márquez, 4.5 km north). According to the 2001 census [INDEC], the population was 41,775. Paso del Rey is bordered by Moreno City (west), Trujui (north) and Merlo and Reconquista River (south).

Grupo VYCEA is the Spanish acronym for Grupo Vigilancia y Control del Espacio Aéreo (English: Air Space's Surveillance and Control Group). Grupo VYCEA is a group of the Argentine Air Force, headquartered at Parque San Martín, Merlo since 1952. Grupo VYCEA, or just VYCEA, operates a military radar base that occupies a total area of 240 Ha. The core of the base is a radar RPA-240T from the Argentinian company INVAP installed in 2015. The radar is mounted on the top of a 23 meters high tower and stands above an underground bunker that contains the main control room. In this room the information captured by military radars deployed along the Argentine border is collected and processed in real time by a recently acquired computerized system. The group is subordinate to the Air Operations Command (Spanish: Comando de Operaciones Aéreas) and a Commodore commands it (Spanish: Comodoro), a rank equivalent to Group Captain in the RAF and Colonel in the USAF. In 2009, the government of Spain donated two 3D radars to be mounted in Resistencia, Chaco and Posadas, Misiones. Another seven 3D radars are being built by INVAP.

Estadio del Argentino de Merlo is a stadium in Merlo, Buenos Aires. It is used for football matches and is the home stadium of Argentino de Merlo.

Merlo is the head town of the eponymous partido of Merlo and seat of the municipal government, located in the Greater Buenos Aires urban area of Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. The city was founded by Francisco de Merlo in 1755 and rebuilt by Juan Dillon in 1859. Merlo is divided in two distinctive regions: Merlo Centro, a middle class district clustered around the train station; and the working class barrios, most of them along the Reconquista River. The administrative and commercial center is around the main avenue, Avenida del Libertador General San Martín. This tree-covered avenue stretches seven blocks from the railway station to the historic district and has few buildings reaching over two storeys in height. Merlo is bordered by Moreno and Paso del Rey—both cities in Moreno Partido—and the Reconquista River (northwest), San Antonio de Padua (north), Libertad and Parque San Martín (east) and Mariano Acosta (south).

Estadio José Manuel Moreno is a multi-purpose stadium in Merlo Partido, Argentina. It is currently used primarily for football matches and hosts the home matches of Primera B Nacional Argentina club, Club Social y Deportivo Merlo. The capacity of the stadium is 5,000 spectators. It is named after former Argentine football player, José Manuel Moreno.

Moreno is a city in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It is the head town of Moreno Partido. It forms part of the Greater Buenos Aires urban conurbation and is located around 36 km (22 mi) to the west of the autonomous city of Buenos Aires. According to the 2001 census [INDEC], the population was 148,290. Moreno is bordered by Paso del Rey (east), Trujui and Cuartel V (north), Francisco Álvarez (west) and Merlo and Reconquista River (south).

Parque San Martín is a city located in Merlo Partido, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. Parque San Martín was founded around 1948 by real estate promoters, in the estates belonging to the Etcheverry family. Like many others places in Argentina, the city was named after the Argentine independence hero General José de San Martín. The city status was conferred by the provincial legislature of Buenos Aires on 17 November 1975, in the administration of Francisco Tomeo, last Radical Intendente (Mayor) of Merlo Partido. Parque San Martín is bordered by the cities of Merlo (north and west), Libertad (east) and Pontevedra and Mariano Acosta (south).

San Antonio de Padua, or plainly Padua, is a city in the Greater Buenos Aires, in Argentina. It is located in Merlo Partido. The city has an area of 6.25 km2 (2 sq mi) and a population of around 38,000. The name commemorates the village founded by Francisco de Merlo, Villa San Antonio del Camino in 1755, named for the Portuguese saint Anthony of Padua. The city is on one of the major rail and road arteries and is well connected to the most important cities of the western Greater Buenos Aires. Padua is bordered by the partido of Ituzaingó (north and east), other localidades of Merlo (west and southwest) and Libertad (south). Padua is basically a flat, low-rise city, with few buildings over two stories, so the skyline is still dominated by the spire of the Church of San Antonio de Padua. The building emerges in the center of a peaceful middle-class neighborhood of white-painted and red-barrel-tiles-roofed houses. The church was inaugurated in 1931 and few years later a Franciscan monastery and a catholic school were erected at its side. The church was built in a Romanesque style and is one of the Padua's landmark buildings. The commercial center is around the main avenue, Avenida Noguera, stretching six blocks from the railroad station, Estación San Antonio de Padua to the east. The city status was conferred on September 11, 1974 by the Buenos Aires (Province) Legislature.

The National University of the West (Spanish: Universidad Nacional del Oeste, UNO) is an Argentine national university, situated in San Antonio de Padua, Merlo Partido, Buenos Aires Province. It was established on November 11, 2009, by National Law 26,544. The campus was formally inaugurated on September 16, 2011 - the 35th anniversary of the "night of the pencils" assault against a group of left-wing La Plata students at the height of the Dirty War. The school offers degrees in eight disciplines, including business administration, public administration, physical education, nursing and computer science.

Mariano Acosta is a city located in Merlo Partido, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. Mariano Acosta was founded by the landholder and businessman Juan Posse in the earliest 20th century, and for years the town was known as Villa (village) Posse. Villa Posse changed its name to Mariano Acosta when the British-owned railway company Buenos Aires Western Railway Co. opens a railway station at its surroundings in 1910. The station was named after Mariano Acosta (1825-1893), Argentine lawyer and politician, former Vice-President of Argentina and governor of Buenos Aires. Mariano Acosta is bordered by Moreno and the Reconquista River (west), Parque San Martín and other localidades of Merlo (north), Pontevedra (northeast) and Marcos Paz (south). According to the 2001 census [INDEC], the population was 54,081.

Libertad is a city located in Merlo Partido, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It forms part of the Greater Buenos Aires urban conurbation. Its origin goes back to the 1870s when, by that time, a rural settlement was thriving around a pulpería (public house) called La Libertad (Freedom), from where the town took its name. During the last decades a group of prominent neighbors had been working to obtain the autonomy of the city and make Libertad a new partido in the province. According to the 2001 census [INDEC], the population was 100,476. Libertad is bordered by Parque San Martín (west), Pontevedra (south), Merlo (northwest), San Antonio de Padua and Morón (north) and La Matanza Partido (east).

Castelar is a city in Morón Partido (county), Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, some 30 km west of the nation's capital, the autonomous city of Buenos Aires. It is part of the Greater Buenos Aires metropolitan area. Castelar is the westernmost city of the Morón Partido, and borders on Ituzaingó Partido. It is the second most populated city in Morón, and it's located in the western side of it.
