New Freedom is a borough in York County, Pennsylvania, United States. As of the 2020 census, the borough had a population of 4,874. Once an industrial/railroad town, the community has evolved into a predominantly residential community.

The girder bridge on stone abutments was built by the Stewartstown Railroad.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

Most of the buildings date between 1840 and 1920, and were developed in two narrow stream valleys. It was built in c. 1910, and is a one-story, three bay by four bay brick building built by the Stewartstown Railroad. It has a hipped roof that extends over a porch. It was used as both a freight and passenger station. It is currently being renovated by the railroad for eventual use for excursion service. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

Fissel's School is a historic one-room school building located at Shrewsbury Township, York County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1896, and is a 1 1/2-story, brick building with Queen Anne stylistic elements. It measures 28 feet, 6 inches, wide and 30 feet, 4 inches, deep with a 22 foot wide, 7 foot deep entrance portico. It has a gable roof with decorative bargeboard and fishscale shingles. Atop the roof above the entrance is a belfry. It ceased use as a school about 1946.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

Heathcote Community is a small intentional community located in rural Maryland, US, about 30 miles (48 km) north of Baltimore. The community was independently formed by School of Living members after an initiative by Mildred Loomis. She briefly joined and led the community afterward, during which time Heathcote was the School of Living Headquarters. Heathcote eventually became an independent entity on land leased to them by School of Living. Heathcote is situated on a 44-acre (18 ha) community land trust next to a 68-acre (280,000 m2) plot owned by some of its members, had a total of about 20 adult and child members, plus seasonal volunteers, at its peak. It now consists of 1 resident full-member, 3 other adults, and 2 children. Heathcote's past activities focused on the old historic mill, scheduled for renovation in 2023-24. During 2023, activities are mostly outdoor, including the community organic garden. Some community activities are sponsored by the Heathcote Education Center, which is a fiscally sponsored project of School of Living. Heathcote is affiliated with the School of Living Community Land Trust but an independent organization.
