Elmesthorpe

Elmesthorpe was a railway station serving the village of Elmesthorpe in the Blaby district of Leicestershire, England. It was located on what is now the Birmingham to Peterborough Line and was located between Croft and Hinckley. The station was opened in 1863 and closed in 1968.

Heath Lane Academy is a co-educational secondary school and sixth form located in Earl Shilton, Leicestershire, England. It has been previously known as William Bradford Academy, William Bradford Community College and, before this, as Earl Shilton Community College. In summer 2016, the nearby Heathfield Academy closed and merged with William Bradford Academy at their site with the new academy rebranded as Heath Lane Academy, also known in abbreviated form as HLA.

Hinckley Leicester Road Football Club is a football club based in Hinckley, England. Formed on 4 November 2013 after the liquidation of Hinckley United the previous month, they are currently members of the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands and play at the Leicester Road Stadium.

Earl Shilton is a market town in Leicestershire, England, about 5 miles (8 km) from Hinckley and about 10 mi (16 km) from Leicester. The 2011 Census recorded its population as 10,047.

Hinckley Association Football Club is a football club, from Hinckley, Leicestershire, who play home games at Barwell's Kirkby Road. The club was formed in January 2014 when fans of the dissolved Hinckley United formed their own Community Trust football club, owned and democratically run by its supporters. The club competes in the Midland League Division One.

The Leicester Road Ground is a cricket ground based in the town of Hinckley, Leicestershire. It has, in the past, been used by Leicestershire as an outground and has held 11 first class games in total. The first game took place in 1981 against Nottinghamshire and the last in 1991 against Gloucestershire. There is also a football stadium on Leicester Road Hinckley which is host to Leicester Road Football Club and Leicester Falcons American Football Club. Part of this stadium was acquired by former HUFC directors under dubious circumstances. The majority of the site is owned by Downes pension fund, The Powers Trust and a local businessman who is the chair of Hinckley AFC. The small part of the site allegedly owned by Leicester Road Stadium comprises the pitch and some car parking. A police investigation for fraud was not carried through to a prosecution as they decided it was not in the public interest to continue. There is an outstanding appeal against this decision. The ground is now used as the home ground for Premier League side, Hinckley Town Cricket Club, as well as the City Cricket Academy games, due to both organisations involvement with Anshuman Bhagawati, who owns the Academy. The ground is also used as an outground for the Leicestershire 2nd XI, with several fixtures being held here during the midweek. The Leicester Road sports ground also has facilities for rugby and squash to be played, as well as the tennis courts. With limited parking onsite, for major events, the clubhouse has the option of parking at the adjoined football ground. Not to be confused with the home ground of Hinckley Amateurs Cricket Club.

Barwell Football Club is a football club based in Barwell, near Hinckley in Leicestershire, England. They are currently members of the Southern League Premier Division Central and play at Kirkby Road.

NKF Burbage Football Club was a football club based in Burbage, Leicestershire, England. The club was affiliated to the Leicestershire and Rutland County Football Association.

Kirkby Road is a cricket ground in Barwell, Leicestershire. Cricket in Barwell dates to 1807, with cricket being played at Kirkby Road since at least 1913. First-class cricket has been played there three times in 1946 and 1947, with Leicestershire playing Lancashire and Warwickshire in the 1946 County Championship and Worcestershire in the 1947 County Championship. Over half a century later in 2001, major cricket returned to the ground when it played host to a List A one-day match between the Leicestershire Cricket Board (LCB) and the Northamptonshire Cricket Board in the Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy, which was won by the LCB, with their captain Neil Pullen scoring 88. The ground is still used by the village club and adjoins the football ground used by Barwell F.C.

The rural district of Hinckley was set up in 1894, covering the rural area around Hinckley, Leicestershire, England. It was named for Hinckley, but did not include it. It was created by the Local Government Act 1894 based on the Hinckley Rural Sanitary District. The district was abolished in 1935, under the review caused by the Local Government Act 1929, with part going to Hinckley Urban District, most of the rest going to Blaby Rural District and Market Bosworth Rural District. Very small parts went to Nuneaton and Atherstone Rural District.

Barwell is a civil parish and large village in Leicestershire, England, with a population of 8,750 residents, Increasing to 9,022 at the 2011 census, the name literally translates as "Stream of the Boar" and is said to originate from a boar that used to drink from the well near a brook in Barwell. It was originally known as Borewell, but later became "Barwell", the name in use today. The brook is now called the River Tweed, and is a tributary of the River Trent. The village has two churches; Barwell Methodist Church in Chapel Street, and St Mary's Church, Barwell in Church Lane. St. Mary's was built in 1220. A board inside the church lists all of the rectors up to the present day, beginning with William in 1209.The village has successful football clubs Barwell FC and AFC Barwell as well cricket teams and a large indoor bowling complex. The Queens Head is the oldest public house, and second oldest building in the village. In 1902 the pub was owned by one Sarah Ann Powers. It was later owned by the Haines family. In recent years, the old pub roof has naturally deformed so that it is no longer straight. In the 1980s the front of the building was completely restored and returned to its original style after years of Victorian style black and white.

St Mary's Church is a church in Barwell, Leicestershire. It is a Grade I listed building.
