Beth Jacob V’Anshei Drildz is an Orthodox synagogue in the North York district of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Founded in 1897, Beth Jacob is one of the oldest continuously-run synagogues in Toronto. The synagogue follows the Nusach Sefard style of prayer.

Bathurst Manor is a neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, located in northern Toronto in the former suburb of North York. It sits on a plateau bounded on the north by Finch Avenue West, on the west by Dufferin Street, on the east by the Don River (west branch), and on the south by Sheppard Avenue West. The area is also regarded as part of the Downsview postal area as designated by Canada Post. It is part of the former city of North York, which merged with five other municipalities and a regional government to form the new "City of Toronto" in 1998. It is part of the federal and provincial electoral district York Centre, and Toronto electoral ward 10: York Centre (East). In 2006, it had a population of 14,615.

Charles H. Best Middle School is a middle school in North York, Ontario for Grade 4 to 8 students. It is located near Dufferin Street and Finch Avenue, in the Bathurst Manor residential area. The school was named Dufferin Heights Junior High until 1978, when it was renamed in honour of Charles Best, one of the co-discoverers of insulin.

William Lyon Mackenzie Collegiate Institute is a semestered high school located in Toronto, Canada. The school was opened in 1960 by the North York Board of Education. It is located near Sheppard Avenue West and Allen Road, close to Sheppard West subway station.

Sheppard West (formerly Downsview) is a subway station on Line 1 Yonge–University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The station, which is located at the southeast corner of Sheppard Avenue West–Allen Road intersection, opened in 1996 in what was then the City of North York, and the large commuter parking lot, accessible via Allen Road and Sheppard Avenue, opened in July 2005. It was the northern terminus of the western branch of the line until the opening of the six stations of the line's extension north to the City of Vaughan's new downtown core on December 17, 2017. When this station opened, it was among the first accessible stations of the Toronto subway system, and the first to be purpose-built as such. The station also features Wi-Fi service.

Toronto Aerodrome, also known as Canadian Air Express Airport, was an aerodrome located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. One of the historical airfields of Canada, operated from 1928 to 1939, it was situated at the current Sheppard West station on Dufferin Street and Sheppard Avenue West. Toronto Aerodrome was one of several small airfields established in the Toronto area during the 1920s and 1930s. This aerodrome served as the principal custom entry point for aircraft coming to Toronto until 1939, when Malton airfield, now Toronto Pearson International Airport, became operational.The aerodrome shared the site with the Toronto Flying Club (located at Dufferin Street and Wilson Avenue). The Toronto Flying Club's site is now the south end of Downsview Airport, TTC Wilson Complex. Following the end of World War II into the 1960s, parts of the former airfield and surrounding farmland were developed into the residential neighbourhood of Wilson Heights and mixed commercial-industrial area of Downsview.

Lieutenant-Colonel George Taylor Denison III Armoury, commonly known as Denison Armoury, is a Canadian Armed Forces facility located at 1 Yukon Lane in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is in the northeastern corner of Downsview Airport, just west of the W.R. Allen Expressway (Allen Road) on Sheppard Avenue West. Denison Armoury is the headquarters of 4th Canadian Division (formerly Land Force Central Area), Joint Task Force Central, and the 32 Canadian Brigade Group. It is also home to several units of the brigade. The armoury is named for George Taylor Denison III, a Canadian Militia commander, judge and Toronto alderman.

York Centre is a provincial electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that has been the name of ridings in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario three different times. It was created initially in 1955 from the southern part of York North. It was dissolved in 1963 when it was split into three ridings called Yorkview, Downsview and Armourdale. In 1967, it was reconstituted north of Steeles in the township of Markham. This lasted until 1999 when it was dissolved into Markham—Unionville. The name was given to a new riding formed in its original location south of Steeles. It remains as an existing riding today.

York Centre (French: York-Centre) is a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1904 to 1917 and since 1953. As per the 2016 Census, 17.0% of York Centre residents are of Filipino ethnic origin and 16.0% belong to the Filipino visible minority, which are the highest such figures among all City of Toronto ridings. At the same time, the York Centre riding has the highest percentage of residents of Russian (9.5%) and Jewish (5.6%) ethnic origins (in the 2011 National Household Survey, 13.6% of York Centre residents had entered a Jewish ethnic origin). The riding was previously considered one of the safest Liberal Party seats in Canada; however, this changed as the Conservative Party gained ground in the 2000s, and its candidate Mark Adler won the seat in 2011. However, the Liberal Party regained the seat in 2015 with its candidate Michael Levitt. Levitt was re-elected in 2019, and resigned as of September 1, 2020, to become the CEO of the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies. A by-election to fill the vacancy took place on October 26, 2020, which was won by Liberal Ya'ara Saks.

The Herb Carnegie Centennial Centre, formerly named the North York Centennial Centre, is a multi-purpose arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was built in 1966 and occasionally hosted the Toronto Marlboros of the Ontario Hockey League. It was renamed on May 2, 2001 for Herb Carnegie, a black Canadian ice hockey pioneer. This arena hosts the North York Rangers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League team. The arena also offers leisure skating organized by the City of Toronto government. It is located at Finch Avenue and Bathurst Street in the district of North York. It is located next to the Centennial Library, a branch of Toronto Public Library. During the summer, the arena becomes a dry pad for other sports, such as lacrosse.[1].

Tiferet Israel Congregation (Hebrew: תפארת ישראל) is a Sephardic Orthodox synagogue in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Sheppard Avenue West in the former city of North York. Tiferet Israel Congregation follows Moroccan Jewish tradition. Regular services are held during the week, on Shabbat, and on Jewish holidays. The synagogue contains a sanctuary on the main floor with separate seating for men and for women, and in the basement there is a kitchen and a room for luncheons, festive meals, and parties.
