Schultz' gate tram stop

Bogstadveien is a street in the district of Frogner in Oslo, Norway. It is considered a central business district and features many of the city's wide range of exclusive shops as well as entertainment, hotels and restaurants. The road is known for the frequent Farmer's Markets on weekends as well as its biannual car-free shopping events. Bogstadveien stretches from the neighbourhood Majorstuen to the neighbourhood Hegdehaugen. The street was originally named Sørkedalsveien as it led to Sørkedalen, but was renamed to Bogstadveien when, in 1878, it was incorporated into Oslo. It was named for the Bogstad Manor in Sørkedalen. In 1892, the street was extended in width to serve as the main street towards Majorstuen. On 2 March 1894, the first electric tramway line in Oslo, the Briskeby Line, was opened. The line runs through almost the entirety of the street, and has a single stop named for it, located by the street junction with Industrigaten. Previously the street was served by two stops, named Schultz' gate and Rosenborg, but these were replaced by the eponymous Bogstadveien stop, due to their proximity. In 1892, the street's width was extended to serve as an avenue from the Royal Palace. In 1932, the two last wooden houses in the street were demolished. The writer Aasmund Olavsson Vinje lived in one of these houses, where he became friends with the painter Peder Balke. The writer Peter Christen Asbjørnsen also lived for a while in a house at the intersection of Bogstadveien and Rosenborggaten Street.

Bogstadveien is a tram stop on the Homansbyen Line and the Briskeby Line. It is served by lines 11 and 19. It replaced the stations, Rosenborg and Schultz' gate. Here branches off the Homansbyen Line (Line 19) and the Briskeby Line (Line 11). The stop is also served by Night buses 1N (Ullerntoppen - Jernbanetorget), 2N (Østerås - Jernbanetorget - Helsfyr - Furuset - Ellingsrudåsen - (Lørenskog sentrum) ) and 11N (Majorstuen - Jernbanetorget - Kjelsås).

Valkyrie plass was a metro station and a tram station on the Oslo Metro and the Oslo Tramway. The station was opened when the Holmenkollen Line was extended from Majorstuen to Nationaltheatret on 28 June 1928. The station was built in neoclassical style, and the architect was Kristofer Andreas Lange. Though not originally planned, when 800 m² of the street collapsed during the construction of the first parts of Fellestunnelen, a station was built anyway. It was closed in 1985 due its proximity to Majorstuen, and it was both difficult and dangerous to expand the station to accommodate trains with more than two cars (which was needed for the conversion of the western lines to metro). Valkyrie plass was also a light rail station on the Briskeby Line of the Oslo Tramway, between Schultz gate in the east and the terminus Majorstuen in the west. It was closed in 2004. The former station building is now used as an independent fast food café, but the staircase to the platform is maintained to provide access to emergency and maintenance personnel and act as an emergency exit. Inside the former station there were illuminated billboards behind the platforms, however as of December 2013, the billboards are gone and the backlights are either broken or missing. The station was an important location in the 2017 Norwegian TV-series Valkyrien.

Hjelmsgate 3 is a self-managed social centre in Oslo, Norway. The wooden house was constructed in 1858 and from the late 1960s onwards it has been a central node in the Norwegian counterculture.

Valkyrie plass is a square in Oslo, Norway, located one block southeast of Majorstuen. The square is triangular in shape, and bounded by the streets Valkyriegata, Bogstadveien and Jacob Aall's gate. It is named after Norse female warrior deities called the valkyries.The Common Tunnel of the Oslo T-bane system passes beneath Valkyrie plass, and there was a station beneath the square from 1912 to 1985. The station was built there due to a tunnel collapse when 800 cubic metres of rock fell into the tunnel under construction. On 7 January 1985 the station, which was very close to Majorstuen station was closed. The square is still served by the Oslo Tramway with two tram lines.

Majorstuen is a particularly affluent neighbourhood in the Frogner borough in the inner part of Oslo, Norway. Majorstuen is known for its vibrant downtown and especially its shopping area. The area has several elegant townhouses c. 1880–1890. The area is also an important public transport junction in Oslo, where all metro lines, three tram lines and five bus lines operate. It is served by Majorstuen station.

Rosenborg, formerly Uranienborgveien is at tram stop on the Briskeby Line of the Oslo Tramway. It is located in Josefines gate, close to its street junction with Bogstadveien. It serves the neighborhoods Rosenborg, Hegdehaugen and Uranienborg in the West End of Oslo. The station is preceded and succeeded by Bogstadveien and Briskeby, respectively. The station used to be near the junction of Holtegata and Uranienborgveien streets, but it was moved towards Hegdehaugen and Rosenborg in 2009, after the line had been upgraded and reconstructed. In 2014, it was moved even further towards Rosenborg, and consequently renamed. In the same move, the former Rosenborg stop was replaced with the newly established Bogstadveien stop, situated further north, closer to Majorstuen.

Hegdehaugen is a neighbourhood in the borough Frogner of Oslo, Norway. It is located in the West End between Homansbyen and Majorstuen. The name origins from the man's name Heide.Urban settlement in the area started in the 1860s, and the neighbourhood was incorporated in the city in 1878.

Seatower is a Norwegian provider of foundations for Offshore wind power. The company, with roots from the offshore oil and gas industry back to 1994, has its headquarters in Oslo and an office in Glasgow. Seatower is considered market leader within GBS for offshore wind.Seatower's main products are the Cranefree foundations. In February 2015 Seatower installed the first Cranefree foundation at the Fécamp offshore wind farm site in the British Channel. The customer was DONG Energy A/S and EDF EN owning the site.

Oslo Tramway Museum (Norwegian: Sporveismuseet is a railway museum located at Majorstuen in Oslo, Norway. It is dedicated to the preservation of the Oslo Tramway, Oslo T-bane, Oslo trolleybus and buses used in Oslo. The museum is run by the non-profit organization Lokaltrafikkhistorisk Forening with 645 members (2019). The museum also operates a heritage tramway in Vinterbro outside Oslo.Lokaltrafikkhistorisk Forening was founded in 1966, six years after the city council had decided to close down the tramway and trolleybus. This followed the closing of the Bergen Tramway, where only a single tram had been kept. As of 2004, the museum had 56 rail vehicles, 31 buses and seven other vehicles. This included four trolleybuses.

The German School of Oslo (German: Deutsch-Norwegische Schule Oslo, Norwegian: Den tysk-norske skolen i Oslo, often abbreviated DSO) is a German-language school in Oslo, Norway and is led by Oliver Schaefer. It is located in Sporveisgata 20 at Bislett, and was opened in 1980. In the beginning, the school was located in the basement of the German Protestant Community of Oslo (German: Deutsche evangelische Gemeinde) in Eilert Sundts gate 37, before it moved to Majorstuen School. In 1998, the DSO moved from Majorstuen to the disused Hegdehaugen Upper Secondary School, where it has been ever since.The school is divided in 2 builds and comprises a kindergarten, a primary and upper secondary school. It is a private school, but it receives financial support from the Norwegian and German states. As of 2010, there are 320 students and 82 kindergarten children at the school.
