Fancott Woods and Meadows

Fancott is a hamlet located in the Central Bedfordshire district of Bedfordshire, England.The settlement forms part of the Toddington civil parish, and is also close to Chalgrave and Chalton. "The Fancott" public house is situated in Fancott, and is the location of the Fancott Miniature Railway. At the 2011 Census the population of the hamlet was included in the civil parish of Chalgrave

Toddington Services is a motorway service station on the M1 motorway between junctions 11A and 12, just north of Luton and Dunstable in Bedfordshire, England. It takes its name from the nearby village of Toddington. It is owned by Moto Hospitality.

Chalton is a village and civil parish in the Central Bedfordshire district of Bedfordshire, England, immediately north of the Luton/Dunstable conurbation and bounded to the east by the M1 motorway and the Midland Main Line railway line. A footpath, locally known as the "Bound Way", borders the village to the south and south west. This path now forms part of the Chiltern Way. The fields around Chalton below Carters hill are the source of the River Flit. Nearby places are Toddington (north west), Chalgrave (west), Houghton Regis (south west), and Sundon (east).

Sundon Chalk Quarry is a 26.2-hectare (65-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Upper Sundon in Bedfordshire. It was notified in 1989 under Section 28 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, and the local planning authority is Central Bedfordshire Council. The site is privately owned but there is free public access.The quarry was established to provide chalk and marl for the Sundon cement works, which operated between 1899 and 1976. The site is part of a large complex of disused chalk quarries, and its varied habitats include fens, lakes, chalk grassland, scrub and woodland. Interesting chalkland plants found here include ploughman’s spikenard, wild liquorice and woolly thistle, and what is probably the largest colony of the Chiltern gentian in England.The quarry has one of the most important assemblages of insect species in Bedfordshire, including sixteen species of dragonfly and damselfly, and twenty-one of butterfly, including the uncommon Adonis blue. The odontids include the scarce blue-tailed damselfly and the ruddy darter dragonfly, both of which are scarce in Britain, and the emerald damselfly and the red-eyed damselfly, which are uncommon in Bedfordshire. There are a number of uncommon beetles including Apion astragali, the larvae of which feed solely on the wild licorice, itself a scarce plant in Britain. There are also amphibians, with the common frog, smooth newt and great crested newt regularly breeding here.The Chiltern Way passes through the site on a footpath from Church Road.

Toddington Castle, today known as "Conger Hill Motte", is an artificial earthen mound located in the village of Toddington, in the county of Bedfordshire, England.

Chalgrave Castle stood to the south of the large village of Toddington, Bedfordshire. This was a timber motte and bailey castle, constructed in two phases, built during the 11th century (around 1086). By the 13th century, it had been abandoned. The site was excavated in 1970, but has since been completely leveled. Nothing visible remains.

The Chiltern School is a coeducational special school located in Houghton Regis in Bedfordshire, England. The school accepts pupils from all over the Central Bedfordshire area.

UTC Central Bedfordshire was a University Technical College (UTC) in Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire, England. The college opened in September 2012 and specialised in education for future engineers, product and games designers. It closed in August 2016.

The Church of All Saints is a Grade I listed church in Chalgrave, Bedfordshire, England. It became a listed building on 3 February 1967. The church, dedicated to All Saints, is an old structure, its consecration recorded as taking place in 1219. It features a nave, chancel, and aisles. The large square tower contains three bells. The nave has five bays. Some of the arches are Early English Period, with foliage decorated capitals, while other capitals are moulded. The register dates from the year 1539. Its fittings include two antique tombs with statues of knights in armour. The interior also features a faded wall painting featuring various saints.

The A5120 is an A-class road in Bedfordshire, linking the conjoined towns of Ampthill and Flitwick to the M1 motorway at Toddington. It connects with the M1 at junction 12 in close proximity to the Toddington services. On its route from Ampthill to Toddington, the A5120 serves Westoning and Harlington. Unusually for an A-road, it does not meet another A-road at any point between its start on the A507 and its end at the M1 J12. The route previously ran to the old A5 Watling Street at Dunstable (now the A5183), however upon the opening of the A5 Dunstable Northern Bypass, the section between the M1 and the new junction A5 was downgraded to the B5120, about halving the length of the route.
